Hi guys,I found a website only in vedic astrology were it list the maternal/paternal grandparents, step parents, and mother-in law and father - in laws in the houses. Does anyone know if this same chart could apply in western natal charts, what about in the whole house, or placidius house systems? Here is the link guys: https://astrobyashish9.blogspot.com/2015/12/houses-in-vedic-astrology-and-their.html ------------------ Primarose628 IP: Logged |

In western astrology, this technique is known as "turning the chart" - and as "derived houses".The natal chart is turned, so that the house of the mother (4th?), father (10th?) and spouse (7th) becomes the 1st house. Then, the houses in that turned chart are considered to be those of the mother, father and spouse. For example ... if your own chart was turned to make the 7th become the first - your 10th house would become the 4th (i.e.. the mother of your partner); your 4th house becomes the 10th (i.e.. the father of your spouse) and your 1st house becomes the 7th (i.e.. your partner's partner). The vedic house assignments (for relatives) appear to differ from western houses only in that biological father = 9th and breadwinner father = 10th ... which (I guess) enables the latter to be used as step-father/adopted-father/guardian. And, the technique can be applied to any of the house systems used in western astrology. [Note that ... if the chart is turned to make the 3rd house (of siblings) become the 1st, those turned houses will relate to the sibling that mentored the chart owner in childhood - and the 3rd house of that turned chart will relate to the sibling who mentored him/her during childhood.]

Hi graham,How would you turn your chart? When you say the 7th becomes the first, does that mean, Libra would be on the Ascendant? ------------------ Primarose628 IP: Logged |

The sign on the cusp of your natal 7th house would become the sign on the cusp of your first house. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkGXy5IpuFM

You have Aquarius Rising/Ascendant 21+ .. that's H1.You have LEO on your Descendant 21+ .. that's H7. Turn your chart like a steering wheel, until LEO H7 .. appears in the place where the Asc should be. H1 Now, read the chart as though you have a LEO Asc. .. using your imagination - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derivative_house ________________ Reminder. Remove the 's' from http, and your link will activate with a click. IP: Logged |
