There isn't much info about retrograde planets without the mention of karma. I have 6 planets in retrograde and would like more information on how they all work together, and how they manifest in a chart, particularly from an esoteric pov. I'm not a hermit like some suggest, even with a 12H stellium but I do wear down quickly and I've learned how to balance myself between the outside and inside. Does anyone else have 6 retrograde planets or know someone who does? If so, are they spiritually inclined or a hermit as some sites say?

Here's my chart

Retrograde planets aren´t going to override the basic and overall Planetary and Sign attunement.

In your case with Gemini Rising conjunct North Node, with the ruler in Aries, Libra Moon, Leo IC, etc you have a chart that is tipped towards the Yang and extroverted despite the Taurus and 12th House stuff.

Retrogrades just kind of slow things down, internalize, and deepen things a bit beyond the usual or norm. Yes, it does help to balance that more Yang side of your chart. It compliments and strengthens the Taurus and 12th patterns, along with the barely in Scorp Pluto closely conjunct the Libra Moon.

You almost always see repeating and/or supporting patterns in charts. It´s like one layer, confirms or aligns with another layer. Ultimately, we´re all shooting for a greater balance and integration between the Yin and the Yang, the different elements, the different Planets, etc.

We´re trying to become the White Light, which is what we were originally and still are within our deepest core. But we have covered it over, and so we go through material and other experiences to try to help us tear down these hindrances and limiting beliefs that keep of from realizing this most exquisite and yet often, most painful truth.

Why do I say it´s painful? Because when you truly realize what you and we all come from, how beautiful, how wonderful it is, how much it is our Home of homes, how intensely and completely loved we are, and then one also realizes that we casually forsook that to go chase self made illusions--the shock of that contrast and the realization of one´s folly is a potentially deeply disturbing blow to the ego part of us (which, as so happens, is very much tied up in that rebellious pattern).

It´s kind of like the teenage kid gone bad, got in with the wrong crowd, starts living destructively, starts treating his/her parents with immense disrespect, steals, abuses, ignores their overtures of love and attempts at help, etc.

And then one day, the kid FINALLY wakes up and realizes what an immature and hurtful brat they´ve been and how much amends they have to make. This is a heavy, heavy awareness, which is how and why some Souls persist in that rebellion until they literally destroy themselves, because they can never face up to that very painful (to the ego) truth.

I've felt that pain. Feeling what you've described, being the light and all is one, is easy for me to tap into. The hard part is like you said, being painfully aware of being here, being human and integrating that spirit into the ego. Pushing the ego aside and letting spirit take the lead in all of the "mundane", the every day little tasks.

When I was very young, around 3 years old, I remember knowing we were supposed to be able to feel each other telepathically. I couldn't understand why no one could feel what I was feeling and I'd sit still and concentrate so hard on sending my feelings to my mother because, she was my mom. She was supposed to know everything about me but she couldn't feel me and that's the first time I realized that something was different here. That a lot of people don't understand what I understood. So, I agree with everything you've said because I've felt it all myself. I've felt my own connection to spirit from a very young age and I've felt the disconnect. Maybe it's because of the retrogrades turning all of the planetary focus inward, adding to the 12H influence.

I know one other person who shares the same birthday. We're only 12 hours apart, same location too. We were a lot alike but, he was extremely materialistic and obsessed with sex. I was very disappointed 😥.

Thank you for sharing. That´s very intense.

A lot of those that connect to male bodies end up really shutting down their hearts. Some women do as well more severely, but it´s definitely more common in guys. Sometimes they are just younger/less mature Souls and sometimes it´s more the effect of our overly Yang polarized but more toxically so system/society.

Many women say that they want a man with a more open heart, but ime, it´s only true if they have a deeper self love/acceptance, because time and time again, many women actually go for the guys with the closed or constipated hearts. We know others attunement deep down and unconsciously at least. Sometimes it´s other factors involved. And similar goes for the men with more open hearts that attract women with more closed hearts.

Actually, I'm a woman lol. The men I attract (search for subconsciously) have a strong uranus, but have a weaker masculine side and are more connected to their feminine side. I don't see myself as feminine or masculine or feel a certain pull towards either but, obviously, I'm stronger in the masculine in my chart so I search for a more feminine chart in a potential partner. Subconsciously of course.

I knew that, I was addressing the below quote/passage of yours:

quote:
I know one other person who shares the same birthday. We're only 12 hours apart, same location too. We were a lot alike but, he was extremely materialistic and obsessed with sex. I was very disappointed 😥.

Basically was saying in a roundabout way, that the above isn´t too uncommon with men because of their common heart issues. Many men equate sex with deeper connection unconsciously, and besides hormones, that is why men are often more sex obsessed than women. More women realize that you can connect on other, just as important levels like the emotional, energetic, spiritual, without necessarily having a physical connection, and they tend to crave that connection just as much as the physical.

I see what you were saying now. It makes a lot of sense. I see a trend now of parents raising their boys to be more emotionally intelligent instead of the old "don't be a sissy" and that makes me happy. I myself have 2 boys and I try to help them with their feelings instead of oppress them. I think a lot of that toxic masculinity you mentioned before stems from that old way of thinking. We're finally starting to see a big shift in the importance of supporting children in their emotional growth.

My birthday twin had a lot of issues with sex. It kind of jarred me at first how we could take that subject so drastically differently but what you've said about it makes a lot of sense.

Thank you for that most important service, and a big plus 1 to all the above in general. Unfortunately though, parental influence can´t always fully counter balance the brainwashing of the larger society we find ourselves in.

True but I'm hoping that as we take these first steps at becoming aware of the negative effects of society, we can move forward with changes that will improve future generations. You can't change what you're not aware of but more and more people are "waking up" to see the bigger picture. Eventually, they will become the majority.

And thank you ❤️

Retrograde planets are considered stronger, but more internal than when in direct motion. That is, there is more internalized focus on development of their energies.

I think the use of the term "karma" in this context has little interpretive value. The term has been used in this vague fashion because of its association with 'going back ...' and when in the birth chart that rendering implies picking up patterns from prior lives. But we all do that if this is not our first lifetime on Earth.

The retrograde planet's energy is more internal as an influence in which the wheels of its past track may have already worn a rut deeper or with unfinished lessons than direct motion. That does not necessarily mean karma per se in the sense of a burden of karmic debt associated with the planet.

Retrograde motions are often the only way the point of a planet's energies get through to us with a kind of corrective follow-up to initial patterns. Luminaries dominate and are never retrograde. The more distant the planet, the more time it spends Rx. Pluto is case in point as it spends half its time Rx.

Interpret each Rx placement as you normally would by sign, aspect, etc, but with shadings that the Rx motion adds a touch strength to it, intensifies it a bit more. When a planet's energies are associated with happenings or developments in the outer world as if they had no origins within ourselves it is virtually impossible to feel out those energies within us. Rx assists in that.

So to get more specific ...

Pluto-Rx lends itself more to realization of inner empowerment.

Neptune-Rx lends itself more to development of inner vision and dream language.

Uranus-Rx lends itself more to the development of layered thought perception.

Saturn-Rx lends itself more to developing inner strength and sturdiness.

Jupiter-Rx lends itself more to inner growth and discovery of the universe within.

... and so on. These dynamics would take precedence over expressing the planetary energies more directly in the outer world. So inner lessons and development that can lead to more direct application of them in the outer world.

This may take place in a process that first involves some struggles and disappointments. Don't expect it to be a way of automatically differentiating the dynamic from birth.

Thank you Kannon for the succinct descriptions! Would you say this also applies to the Lunar Nodes, Chiron, Ceres, et all? If they're in retrograde, their lessons/energies are more intense?

I really identify with this as well. It's really interesting to see how retrogrades play in a chart. If someone has one or two, you can see how that planets focus is internal. Retrograde Saturn for example, someone who has the ability to "practice what they preach". My last bf had zero retrogrades and I could definitely tell. He struggled hard with his inner world and had almost no self discipline.

Haven´t paid too much attention to it, but funnily my Nodes are in a sense ¨retrograding¨ but by going direct (usually they move ¨backwards¨). No idea what it means or implies, if anything.

Otherwise, Jupiter is retrograding back into the 1st and Saturn is also retrograde.

I've read when the nn goes direct, that person will face many karmic situations throughout their life to "hurry up" and learn the lessons at hand.

Do you notice a difference with the way your retrogrades manifest their energy in your life?

I´ve spent much of my life being VERY internally focused. But that also relates to most of my planets being below the horizon, as well as to a strong emphasis on the Yin Signs and Planets (though fairly balanced all in all).

Even though I´m not quite yet 40, I feel like I¨ve already lived a couple lifetimes. I have had some very interesting experiences and have made some very interesting acquaintances, though in many other ways my life is quite unremarkable and mundane to an outside observer.

This is a great info. My daughter has a few retrograde planets in her natal chart and I was worried about it.

She has retrograde:

Mercury
Uranus
Neptune
Pluto, and
Chiron

She also has vertex conjunct nodal axis that is in direct (which I think is the backwards compared to most people?)

As a mother, I don't want her to have a tough life of course but I'm definitely trying do my best to let her live her life to the fullest.

Same here. It used to confuse me how I could live what looks to be a run of the mill kind of life yet be so completely out of the ordinary on the inside that no one could really understand me. It took me a long time to realize that that's exactly what I was supposed to be doing. Seeing how extraordinary every day life is. The small town I live in that I was so desperate to leave, the boring job I have, the people that won't ever have any notaritaty on a large scale. Then it clicked one day a few years ago. The people I know and have met are very extraordinary in their own right, this town is a small piece of a much larger work of art, and my job has me come face to face with many people every day and it's up to me to bring my internal self to the forefront in all of those experiences, bridge the gap between soul and human ego.

Beautifully put, this describes my life as well.

I have 4 retrogrades in my chart for the sake of the thread.

Litost, that's an excellent word to describe the feeling. It's so hard to put into words and I'm already terrible at describing anything in words but litost seems to fit very well.
