Sometimes I feel like if I ever had a child I might be distance towards them. I think I could be too detached to be a mom.

Im not sure. I don't know if I want kids. There are times where I wonder if I should even be in a relationship. I don't think Im stable enough. If I had a kid Ive wanted a son. I don't think Id be distant if I was a mother, based on how I am with my dog LOL I am affectionate but I always find myself disappearing away from responsibilities often. I can only imagine me being a mother and then having to disappear because I need alone time. Not very stable. I don't think I should have children. I also don't want to bring a child in this world if they end up being unhappy. Yeah I can't really see myself living a normal life as a mother.

What makes you think you'd be too detached?

I never wanted to have kids. I knew this from when I was a child. As an Aquarian moon I would feel trapped. All the things I HAVE TO. I couldn't bare I would be lived instead of me living. I want freedom. A child would be a burden. I want every day to decide for myself how I want to spend the day. I would never sleep again, because I feel trapped in all the obligations. I cannot even get a proper job, because I can't sleep "on the alarm clock". It feels unsafe or something. Freedom is linked with safety / security in my life. I was pregnant once, but I did not carry fullterm. And I think it is for the best. I really feel I would go insane.

So Aquarian moon is for me a thing about freedom, not so much about emotional distance. If I had a kid, I would raise it to become independent and a revolutionist. I just cannot conform to all the rules and the school system. I am anti vaxxer and anti-everything those poor kids HAVE to do nowadays, that takes their freedom away. I can see the Orwellian agenda behind everything so no... the kid would have a hard time with such a revolutionist mother...

@ChildOfVenus & SoulOfaBird

Don't count yourself out. Circumstances sometimes dictate something else occuring. Sometimes Universal laws are so amazing, one has to be in awe at just observing them at work.

I would look at the progressed Moon also at the time of the birth of the child. As that dictates the mental state of mind we are at & our evolving capabilities as caregivers.

Interestingly,my Sis has natal Moon in Pisces. But she had her progressed Moon in Aqua when she had her son(2018). And she is NOT that involved in his day-day rearing at all.

Even now(prog Moon still in Aqua),she is not " raising" him in the strict sense of the word. His grandmother is.

We certainly didn't expect the pregnancy and then when it came about, it was like a blessing to the my folks- as they really wanted a grandchild. And I nor my Sis who comes just after me, were in a position to have one.

What is noteworthy is how synchronized the events around the birth were. My Mom's progressed Moon(my nephew's grandmother) was in Gemini conjunct my nephew's Moon when he was born.

#sidenote my mother didn't raise me either in the first parts of my life(she has Taurus Moon natally) & when I was born, her Moon had progressed to Pisces.

My grandmother(her mother) is the one who was my Mom.And its considered quite normal in South Africa for kids to be reared by grandparents(Trevor Noah is another example of this).

So when I was born all those years ago Gran's progressed Moon in Aries was conjunct my natal Asc in Aries. Wowza!! So she had energy reserves for an infant at her age.

Another cousin with the Aqua Moon adopted a child (Sandra Bullock did that too and she has Aqua Moon). When I checked her progressions, natal Sun in Taurus and progressed Moon in Sag conj Uranus in Sag.

In life we grow and our wants change. Its natural. Just take a look at your progressions because its likely that if you're feeling "broody",there's a chance that prog Moon in in the 2nd or 4th house OR in the signs Tau/Can -which revolve around setting up a nest etc

Moon in Aqua/Moon in Pisces tend to adopt. With Moon in Aqua(especially) preferring teenagers or those past the diaper phase.Maybe coz they want to be able to converse with the child?

Most air moon parents I would imagine, may prefer to have their kids speak as soon as possible-so as to start "reasoning" & "negotiating" with them lol.

The thought of having a crying infant who can't enunciate scares them. How do I know what she wants? How do I tell when she is hungry or has had enough? What do I do to soothe her when she is upset? etc. it can all be so nerve-wrecking.

But we all have fears about messing up as parents because of our NOW mentality(myself included). And that's okay because we are not the first to have such insecurities.

Just so long as they(insecurities) don't inhibit us from going after what we really want because of an often paralyzing or imagined fear that you will "fail" or not be "good" at it etc.

What if the child is Pisces rising or Aqua Moon like you? Maybe able to somehow fit into your life seamlessly?Would you consider then?

Nope. Nothing can change my mind. I just don't have the instinctive URGE to nurture. I think I miss mother-genes or something, but when I see woman who really get depressed when they fail in getting a child...I just cannot relate to it. I just feel TRAPPED, and I just KNOW I couldn't sleep anymore. Besides, over forty here, so no children for me. Too old, too exhausting for me. I really need my sleep or else I get really sick. When I have 2 bad nights in a row, something goes wrong in my brain and I feel depressed, as if i'm lovesick. No good for me, it will literally kill me, every broken night.

I can really relate the reason why I say I would probably be detached. Is because sometimes I don't want to be bothered with my pets. I have two cats and there are times I just don't feel affectionate towards them. I love animals though and I actually rescued them both. I do love them but I just feel like I need a break from them sometimes. Also I don't know about being a relationship either. My longest relationship was with a guy who had Moon in Gemini. I broke things off with him because he was too clingy. It was all his leo placemenets though sometimes I need space and I just don't want to be bothered. I don't really like dealing with responsibilities either. Unless it's something that I actually like doing.

Yeah, I've said that if I had a kid I wouldn't be able to do the things I like. I wouldn't be able to just up and leave whenever I want.

@Aries23Degrees: I have thought about adopting but I thought it was because I have Neptune in the 5th house.

Well Jupiter/Neptune and Uranus are the types who have noble intentions. They are not necessarily saints. But they tend to have an idealistic view of the world.

So those with Sag/Pisces or Aqua influences may not see a diff between their "blood" children and other children(even those of a different race, cultural background etc.).

Their belief being that we are all a part of the human race right? And every child(irrespective of background) needs a loving home.

The actual process of adoption i.e the administration, paperwork involved and the adoptee being reviewed as an eligible candidate however,is Saturn & Mercury.

Anything that slows things down and puts due process and procedure into it, is Mercury/Saturn or Cap/Virgo energy.Especially if those processes are subject to human fallacy, disappointment or rule of law.

Whilst foster care is more Uranus/Neptune.Dodgy adoption processes fall under Neptune/Jupiter and ones that go quickly tend to be influenced by Venus (and in some cases I would reckon Jupiter too).

Hello fellow Aqua Mooners. I felt I needed to chime in on this thread, as a child , I never wanted children and that could’ve been for several reasons . I was born with Uranus in the 4th house so my childhood was very unconventional. I was raised by my moms parents who were very loving and made me feel secure, however, I was teased a lot by my peers so that made me not like kids lol. I also was very mature for my age with Saturn in the 1st house all work no play but deep inside I’m silly as all helll :-D. I definitely have enjoyed my freedom and have floated from place to place. I can maintain a relationship and be committed but just need space for individuality. I changed my mind about having children while two things were going on in my life ...I was in a relationship for ten years and engaged and pluto has just entered my 5th house. I was obsessed with having a child. So much so that I found out I only had one shot of having a child before I turned 30 due to female problems. After a year and a half of infertility treatments, we conceived . For me it changed my whole outlook on having children. For me I think it was more about fear of failing as a parent . My parents were good people but were young. My child is now 13 years old and the dad and I have long since broken up, it’s been a struggle, but I’m glad I made the decision.. my sons Moon is conjunct my 5th house vertex so he was meant to come into my life . So Aqua moons aren’t all that bad if you a add a trine to pluto like I have , you’ll certainly feel attachment . Just my two cents :-) and so happy to be a mom.

Couldn't have them due to my health.
Although I've been a mommy to fur babes.

I can say I've loved every feline I've ever been blessed to be a mommy to. They are very much loners thus perfect for an Aqua Moon! However I can dote, often do, but more often my head is in the clouds. My sons know me, they purr and greet me etc, we share much affection (it is purrrr-fect) .

Funny that you mention that! Because I have a Pisces and Aqua stellium and I have often thought about adopting children from different countries. From different cultural backgrounds. I remember watching a Youtube video with a lady that adopted an asian child, a couple of black children, and also had kids of their own, they were white. But she treated them all like her own kids. It's so sweet. I thought how wonderful that is. To take in a child that isn't your own creation but to love them as so anyway. Raising children from different races all under one roof and raising them with racism, is really so pure. I wish I could be that amazing of a mom.
But all in all, Im just taking one step at a time. I haven't even got into a relationship so Im just going with the flow. But having children isn't my biggest priority. Im just going with the flow for now.

That's very interesting. Yeah Aquas don't usually like commitment, it feels suffocating to them I believe. I don't feel I have trouble with commitment, but more that I can't be committed because Im always living in my head/fantasy world, and have such a short attention span. Im irresponsible at times and a huge procrastinator lol so really am I good for commitment, Im not very sure.

Yeah sounds like me lol I don't like to be responsible for things that don't interest me. And sometimes daily routine really does make me feel bored. A lot of the time I just feel like I want to go off somewhere so I don't have to be bothered.

Hello fellow Aqua moon.
Could it be the house or orb the moon is in? Maybe a less obvious aspect to the moon. Have you looked at your Moon in a Persona study?

I find cat's are rather less clingy than dogs. My moon is in 2nd house. A more personal zone. So when they (kitkats) approach me I'm very receptive, it could also be breed. In my case not so though. I'm sympatico with any felines.

Hi fellow aqua moon! (: 😂
Im not sure.. my moon is 10 degrees Aqua in the 12th house.

Ive looked into Moon in Persona chart but Im not too sure how to read them or what they mean.
In my Moon persona chart my moon is in Pisces there. But not sure what it means or how it affects me.

Yeah cats are definitely less clingy lol I have a dog and I love him to death. But Im a maladaptive daydreamer and I spend a lot of time daydreaming I wish I could be a more stable parent for him. I only wish he would let me hug him while I sleep, but he doesn't stay next to me unless I keep petting him lol he's a rescue but I think he was born sometime in December so I think the lil guy is a Sag he sure acts like it. He's affectionate but independent 😂

My mother has an Aquarius moon, with multiple kids. She loves children. She always wanted to be some kind of counselor for children. She had kids from her 20s to her 40s!

My sister has an Aquarius moon, also can’t wait to be a mother. Wants “at least” 4 children, lol!

Aquarius moon to me seems like it would be the opposite. Perhaps, in the above examples, the desire for children and many of them and to be a mother as quickly as possible is better linked to Jupiter in my mother’s 5th house and my sister’s Cancer ascendant?
