https://earthsky.org/astronomy-essentials/five-petals-of-venus So....does venus takes 8 years, to return to the same position in relation to the Earth, horizon and sun? I'm not sure if thats correct.. seeking some better understanding, please :} I know Mercury and Venus both take about a year to transit each zodiac sign, so I'm wondering what this 8 year period is about? And if venus-return type stuff should be considered yearly, or in a 8-year cycles from the birth of native (8 years, 16 years, 24, 32,etc.) I know Saturns return is said to be around 29.5 years, and Jupiter is 12 years? So, if the 8 year cycle is different than the yearly cycle, are there mutliple cycles for the other planets? Like, for example, if Mars returns to the same sun sign every two years, is there a larger cycle i should also be referring to, as the yearly venus cycle does to its 8-year cycle? Choppy question, trying my best. Thanks in advance ^_^

Happy Birthday, Mimi! (Nov 18) Venus Returns -- Two kinds Venus Return aka "Venus Conjunct Venus" transit in your natal chart -- Happens every time that transiting Venus returns to the exact degree of her own Natal placement in your chart. For people not familiar with what to look for? Go to Astrodienst www.astro.com set up account Draw up your natal wheel and Include Transits. The "transiting planets" are the tiny green glyphs in the outside circle of your chart. They move around your chart every day. Takes Venus 225 days to orbit the Sun. Mimi, you have a Venus rx Scorpio 3.02'56" "Venus Conjunct Venus" Your most-recent Venus-Return transit occurred last month. * Fri/Sat October 11~12, 2019. Your next Venus-Return will occur on * Tue/Wed November 24~25, 2020. Venus Star Point Venus meets-up in a conjunction with the Sun in an alignment with the Earth, every 9 months. The points are 'marked' by noting the degree where each of the Venus-Sun-Earth conjunct-alignments occurred in the heavens. The pattern of these conjunctions move to form of a 5-pointed star every 19-months. A full VENUS Cycle takes around 8 years. Go to this PDF ephemeris, and look for the last 'Venus-Sun Conjunction' prior to your date of birth. - http://sophiavenus.com/pdf/FindYourVenusStarPoint.pdf Astrologically, in your chart, the degree of your 'Venus Star Point' signifies what you’re naturally good at expressing in life-- something so natural you are without any need of training.

Energizing your url by removing the 's' from http. Makes it 'clickable' from your LL post. http://earthsky.org/astronomy-essentials/five-petals-of-venus Remember that Sidereal zodiac degrees are used in astronomy. In astrology, the tropical zodiac is used.

It is merely the measure of how long it takes Venus & Sun to draw the five-petaled flower from geocentric perspective. quote:
And if venus-return type stuff should be considered yearly, or in a 8-year cycles from the birth of native (8 years, 16 years, 24, 32,etc.)
An astrologer can consider whatever cycles they like for research into patterns relating to the energies of the two planets involved, but we don't normally consider the Venus cycle (synodic period of Venus & Sun) in terms of astrological transits. quote:
I know Saturns return is said to be around 29.5 years, and Jupiter is 12 years?
That's how long it takes to circle the 360° loop, yes. quote:

No, not for single planet cycles. What you depicted above from the astronomy site is a [b]synodic period[b] of Venus & Sun together. Your confusion comes from mixing terms from astronomy with astrology. These two don't get together anymore and find common terms. A synodic period is the cycle observed in the relation of [b]two planets. ------------------ Soul Stars Astrology by The Declinations Guy Expert birth chart rectification IP: Logged |
