Hi Leo-Cancer..

I'd like to know more about vedic astrology.

Time is always an issue to learn new things, and the vedic "charts" (grids) are so different to Western.

It would be good to know at least where my vedic planets are. Do you happen to know how or where we can calculate our vedic planets?

sassaqua - Go to astro.com, click in "extended chart selection"

Scroll down to the lightly shaded yellow area that says "options for zodiac houses"

There are buttons on the right hand side, its default setting is on topical, instead click sidereal

It gives a basic run down of vedic signs/house placements, but I think Indian websites have more in depth vedic-style charts

Also, to answer the question in the post, I resonate much more with my western chart (funnily enough my Sun and ASC are the same in vedic, but the Moon is such a crucial change that I really can't relate to it at all)

i find my vedic chart fairly relatable for the most part, moon nakshatra is definitely fitting (but i've noticed most people relate to that even if they mostly use western)

that being said i find my vedic venus hard to relate to but it's also obscured by being conjunct ketu and in my first house

if it was unaltered or a different house i suppose i'd feel differently about it but for the most part i think both charts sum me up

my vedic and draconic are essentially the same which i find interesting (2 degree difference

everything in my chart falls back one sign in vedic so it has me as a leo sun (12th house, magha), virgo rising (chitra), virgo venus (hasta), virgo ketu (chitra), pisces moon (revati 7th house), pisces rahu (revati), sag mars (purva ashada 4th house), cancer mercury (ashlesha 11th house), scorpio saturn (3rd house), aquarius jupiter (retrograde 6th house)

i think sag mars is more fitting than cap, cap mars was always the part of my western chart i had the hardest time relating to

are you going by the western interpretations of the signs or the vedic ones + nakshatra?

I'm going by both, including the pada number. My Moon (Chandra) is also conjunct Rahu and vedic is VERY fatalistic about the NN, so the fact that my Moon nakshatra is in Shravana + conjunct Rahu + conjunct Saturn I'm basically a demon in that system. I'm more aligned with the western school of thought re: the NN

Kapiel Raj talks about this conjunction here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNk2TBrfItI

The short of it is that he believes people with this conjunction in their vedic chart are either constantly paralyzed with fear or that they're psychopaths, even going so far as to bring up the Iceman killer with 600 victims. He talks of someone living in a constant depression, whose live is always mired in chaos (Rahu) when they desperately try to build structure (Saturn)

Genuinely not true for me at all, I have a healthy emotional life and a lot of empathy. I'm a pretty stable person as far as psychology goes, I don't have much fear - I'm very laissez-faire with my tropical Aqua Moon, and I feel my North Node has often been like a guardian angel to me, not a source of destruction

^ Thats his own point of view tho, and might not necessarily be completely accurate.

I think the fear-mongering in vedic might have to do with them giving their clients the ornaments, and the "gems"(!!) and the "mantras" to "save" their ***** (coz they can ofcourse) from all their life problems.

My chart is heavily Rahu-dominant in vedic, and I can totally relate to the theme of reaching for the stars and falling into the clouds in that "Rahu" story, especially NOW.

But I also do have plenty of Saturn in my chart so the climb never ends, rofll

Now, as much as I HATE routines, routines have always helped my ass, otherwise my life goes from a complete LSD trip to being on a part-time nervous breakdown, and it might have something to do with having Mars in Cap in Vedic perhaps.

Now I have Gemini Moon in both, which I can relate, but the Moon has only checked into Gemini by few minutes in my chart, so if the timing is all wrong, I would have this nice nice exalted Moon, which as good as it is(having one more exalted planet in my chart would be nice for Display ofcourse)(for the audience....or to brag about here).....I might not swap for the verbal wits of my Gemini Moon... .

I have Gem Moon in Vedic. I find that funny. My family says I live in my head. But that is also true of Tropical Moon in 3rd(especially when in Cancer and Taurus). One gets to be very comfortable living in the world of thoughts, words and communication.

No not at all. As it is already I don't relate to my western Aquarius moon, much less Capricorn moon. At least I can say I have some Aqua traits.. Capricorn traits I have none of.
