I saw this photograph today in a web-magazine. The photo is nominated for a 'photo of the year'-prize and if i got to pick the winner this is it!

I think this is really beautiful. When i look at it i get a mixture of feelings of decadence, pain, love, beauty, all with the purest and rawest authenticity. I do look at the photo with the explanatory text in mind and i do think this is important.

I showed it for a coworker and told him what i felt about it and he looked at me as i was mad, lol!

That made me think about what, if anything, from a astrological context, makes me appreciate it.

I don't know if it matters but i do consider myself heterosexual and i have no desire to explore either homosexuality or trans-sexuality.

I do think that Venus should play a big part in this, and i guess i don't need to explain why.

My Venus rules my 1st and 8th houses and is located in my 9th house in Gemini and except a 3 minute trine to my Libra-ascendant its closes aspect is a 3-degree trine to Pluto in Libra and i would give this the greatest credit.

My Venus-Pluto needs and craves authenticity, and of course it wants to know your innermost secrets, and that is exactly the feelings i get from this photo.

The next closest aspect my Venus receives is from opposing Neptune (4 degrees). I think that the colours of the picture and the setting is Neptunian. I don't know how to explain this any better with words.

I also do think that the 5th, 8th and 12th houses, including Mars, should play a part in this but feel free to disagree if you think otherwise.

What does this photograph make you feel and what factors in your natal chart would you explain those feelings with?

The hour is late at the secret trans club Escualita close to
Place de la Clichy in Paris. Tiredness is creeping on and someone else had greater
fortune than Christelle this late night in May

Heres a link if you want to view the picture in a bigger format.

The colors and composition are beautiful, but pain and hopelessness are somewhat disturbing. As Scorpio stellium, I don’t mind dark stuff and pain in the art. Maybe, for Libra moon/Sun , it’s too mundane pain here... The story behind it is pretty disturbing like the most of these people don’t want to be there, but they don’t have a choice, and they won’t escape.
I disagree about its Neptunian. I think colors and the theme here are Saturn based: prison, boundaries, restrictions, pain.

People trying to fill a void with sex, looks like a brothel...I dont feel strong feelings about it, just what I said.

Lol I dont think my observation on this has to do with my natal chart but I suppose I am intuitive, analytical and very observant when it comes to human behavior which I attribute to:

Mercury in Virgo rx parallel pluto
Mercury opposite 8H ruler Moon in Pisces

I agree 💯. In my second comment were I joke that I feel these are politicians in a brothel I thought of my pluto at the end of my 10H conjunct Saturn on my 11H cusp.

Do you as Hypatia get the brothel-feeling, that they are prostitutes unwillingly selling them selfs to pay the rent etc, or would the prison/dont want to be here-theme come from lonelines or a sort of destructive escape from something?

Yes i do see how you can get that idea

Since it is a club i do think that they are there volountarly. However if you view it from the perspective that theyre all trying to fill a void in their hearts by having sex with strangers(?) i guess they all could be considered slaves of sorts.

I think we all have smaller or bigger voids that we fill with different things, some more destructive than others. I would not necessary say that having sex with a stranger would be destructive per se, as long as you make sure to stay safe (from deceases, violence etc)

I feel the girls (they look transgender) who I feel are prostitutes in this particular picture are strong women who are not trying to fill a void and are happy there are customers around...they have the power here, except for that older woman with a wig (may also be transgender) who I feel is an extension of the energy that I am picking up from the man in this picture, perhaps yes this deep loneliness, that younger guy I feel is just having fun and exploring at this point, he is new to the scene. The other two men though I feel they are trying to fill a void with sex and trapped in this cycle of addiction, mind you I don't feel strong emotions looking at the picture and I am not judging any of them, it is what it is, this is a part of life but the picture definitely taps into a darkness.

I don't think this is merely a night club, I feel there is more going on than you realize, there is a transactional aspect to it, not judging just observing.

the one that looks like a politician is the older guy to the right, standing, with spiky white hair come to think of it.........these are all gay guys I feel that don't want to admit to themselves they are gay perhaps and so are having sex with transgender prostitutes...Okay I am going to stop psychoanalyzing this picture....LOL

I do have Saturn in scorpio conjunct Geisha exact at 2 degrees, maybe this is why I am tapping into a prostitute theme LOL...or I am right.

I get you! Completely (i think)
Now you need to tell me where your Venus is and what aspects and house position its at

And i think youre right. All persons in the picture is born male.

I havent got to know many gay people but a friend of mine used to hang out with one and i met him a few times. He was very funny and a great person. He had a very feminine look and wore pretty much make up.
He was very open and talked alot about his sexual experinces with married men etc etc. I dont think that all gay men are like that but at the least i think that my experience from him has affected how i see this photograph.

I see loneliness in the picture. Atleast in her who is tired and gazing. Other than that i see people experincing life from a perspective of someone who is considered odd (at the best) by most people (in the "real" world) around them. I see no transactions other than raw animalistic transactions of sex

Its either transactional or they are at that type of club were people go to hook up and have orgies ect...its one or the other but there is no way of knowing, prostitutes definitely hang out at bars or clubs... that guy does not look like a waiter at all, his presence is strong with authority, maybe a politician or business man, unlikely a waiter but not impossible.

Addiction plays out in many different ways and frequenting clubs like that and making one night stands part of your lifestyle which also probably means you get drunk frequently stems from addictive tendencies and over time can turn into an addictive cycle. I have studied psychology and people to much to see this picture naively and not see the long term bigger picture that comes with turning that into a lifestyle over time.

There are healthier ways to fill a void.

Yep, I agree with Hypatia. I got feeling it’s transactional too. That’s what I meant by mundane and disturbing. If you take away good lightening and composition of the picture, it could be something on the night news. Like somebody got caught in brothel. Maybe, that politician who you think is a waiter. 😊 I think he is kinda old and confident for waiter.
I could see loneliness. Men might try to fill a void, but these transgender women here because of desperation. I think they don’t know how to make money in a different way.

i find your use of the word authenticity to describe the picture odd, it's looks too posed and lacking any emotion or depth

the colors are beautiful don't get me wrong but i find it dull and lifeless otherwise just sort of vapid and empty

it looks like it's trying to make a statement but doesn't really

like someone just using the lgbt community to make a statement and relying on the fact that theyre a marginalized group to seem deep, nothing new or interesting really

it's like watching yet another aids movie about gay men and pretending it's amazing

i'm bi so it's not like that bit of it is an issue for me

i'm also a libra ascendant (with venus conjunct) with sag uranus and leo mercury sextile, aries moon opposite, and cap mars (loosely conjunct neptune) square also have south node conjunct my ascendant and chiron trine venus/ascendant

i have scorpio pluto in my 1st house as well (it's sextile neptune and my sun, my sun is also trine neptune and square saturn)

5th house is empty aquarius cusp, mars is 3rd house with neptune (it's also loosely conjunct my ic and square my ascendant/venus and descendant/moon) and uranus sag cusp, taurus 8th house also empty, 12th house has a virgo cusp venus technically falls there but it's conjunct my ascendant by 2 degrees

I felt sad, but I've been somewhat emotional over the last twenty-four hours - and wiped out since late this afternoon (I was going to ask if anyone else has been feeling odd since last night - a lot of people in a FB group, said that today had felt weird to them).

Anything that looks like prostitution or sex tourism, doesn't appeal to me - the women don't look like they're having a good time, but that could just be me projecting - I feel the same way about the girls in Thailand. It's one snapshot, and the quote does say that it's late. I googled the club, and people look like they're having fun - it's a lot livelier than it looks in the picture. The woman on the left could be having a better time than I thought - she's holding onto the man behind her. She also almost looks like a twin of the man on the right. When it comes to prostitution itself, if that's what this is, and not just people hooking up, I think it should be safe and legal for the prostitutes (and consensual). I'm not really big on clubs, secret or not.

My Gemini Moon/Venus are conjunct the cusp of the 8th house, square Mars, sextile Jupiter and trine Pluto. Also inconjunct Uranus/ascendant. Sun in the 6th house, conjunct Mercury/Ceres/Chiron, and widely opposed Uranus.

He got a somewhat bad posture, slightly crooked back, he is skinny and his cheeks are sunked in.
I see a unhealthy and a sickly, kinda broken, man. He should have quit smoking decades ago but he couldnt and now he is slowly dying.
I see neither power or influence. Perhaps if it was a 50s gangster movie. But in 2019? No way. Hes working as a waitor to pay for his 1-room appartment where he lives alone.

I could see how you could see it staged. It kinda looks like a movie scene, and who knows maybe the photographer payed them all to pose (it wouldnt be the first time in history)

I wonder where your Photographica asteroid is.

Mine is on my Sun.

I've been known to have visions when I was young.

Otherwise, I'm still considering what the image represents.

(443) PHOTOGRAPHICA

Photographs, visuals, visions, and imagery of all kinds. Likely includes things like graphic design, advertising, et al., but more often than not shows up prominently in the birth charts of photographers.

Despair. ... And sadness, because it's message is "the loneliness created by segregation".

Maybe my anaretic degree Gemini Uranus in 9th (and on MC) makes me feel that ... or perhaps it's opposition to Capricorn Jupiter in 4th (and on IC).

This is a trailer of a move called Knight of Cups. I havent watched it yet because im afraid that the trailer promises so much more than the actual movie can deliever.

I feel, atleast the trailer, touches the subject of the void of the heart which i think in part can be felt from the photo.

I might mean the opposite.

For example, you might be able to see into it (scary images).

Especially, inside the 8th.
