You aren't making him sound bad, I know someone who sounds like him, but he has different placements. He has told me that he isn't that bold. I would just ask him, but I can be, if I'm in the right mood. When I find that I'm the one who ends up messaging, because he's been quiet for a while, I just stop, do other things, and let him message if he actually wants to talk. This guy has let me know how he feels - this time - but he didn't in the past, until I was over it. When we reconnected, he didn't waste any time, but I was surprised, because I wasn't expecting that. There are also other issues. You might get more responses in the Interpersonal astrology forum, since it's about relationships.  Sun conjunct Moon in Sagittarius sounds fun. Venus in Capricorn might be behind his being cautious, if that is what's behind the confusing behaviour. You could try googling site:linda-goodman.com "Venus in Capricorn" (copy and paste it like that, into google). Mars is there, too. The guy I've mentioned has Mars conjunct Saturn, only in Cancer. quote:

This guy once said that I had enough friends, in regard to him being my friend - I can't remember why he said it, though. That was back in 2009. It confused me, because he hadn't made a move to be more than friends. He also told me that he didn't need to know many people (at a different time). He has been in long-term relationships before, though, and I doubt that his girlfriends were wallflowers. I would just ask him, though, and get it over with. Tell him you don't want to be pushy, but ask what he meant by that. One difference is that the Taurus I mentioned, he was the one pushing to get to know me, but he would also disappear at times.
