I'm not sure this can be shown in the chart or not, but it's an interesting question. Awhile back I read a very interesting book that was about damage to the hemispheres of the brain, and the resulting behaviors and physical issues.
When people had severe damage to the left side of the brain, they often became over emotional with lack of self control. There was a quality of not living in logical reality i.e. fantasy land was strong for them. Sometimes the right side of the body didn't function as well. See the right side of the body is primarily wired to the left hemisphere of the brain.
When the right side of the brain was severely damaged, it was like the exact opposite of the above was shown. These people often became like emotionless robots. They couldn't understand symbolism, metaphor, etc and everything was super literal, their tone completely flat and monotone. Again, almost like a human robot. Often they had issues with the left side of their body, especially hand wise.
Then there is a fascinating Ted Talk on Youtube called "My Stroke of Insight" where a brain researcher, who is pretty logical, grounded, material focused, etc, had a stroke which cut off the blood supply to her left side of the brain temporarily. She said it was a very interesting experience to be in and to observe.
As her right brain became completely dominant, it was almost a spiritual and very beautiful experience for her (taught her a lot about the value of the right brain and right brain perception/concepts).
However, she lost her ability to read words and numbers and understand speech, which was an issue because she knew she she was in medical trouble, and she was trying to call someone on the phone for help--she was barely able to do so.
Then I remember a case of a person (don't know the specifics anymore) where the child couldn't understand speech. But eventually the people working with her, figured out that she could understand communication when the people sang it. See, singing is more right brain oriented, and regular speech is more left brain oriented.
The truth is, that all of us without brain damage or the like, all use both hemispheres of our brain, and fairly simultaneously for the most part. Yet, I'm convinced that despite what some mainstream researchers say, that there is a tendency or trend for most people to be somewhat more right or left brain dominant as a whole. Left brain dominance seems to be far more common.
Since the right brain is primarily wired to the the left side of the body, and the left hand, it's possible that people who are left hand dominant are more "right brained" than average. This would also likely lead to a greater intuitiveness beyond average.
For self, this fits. I'm pretty sure I was left hand dominant when little, but when I was 5 or so, my drunk father accidentally slammed a heavy car door on my left thumb. It broke the thumb. I know, because it fused straight after. Anyways, I did not get it treated at all, and as mentioned it didn't heal right. Not long after, I went through a growth spurt, and my right thumb started to become larger while my left didn't.
I started to become increasingly self conscious/insecure about this, and started constantly hiding my left hand, which led to me using my left hand and arm much less, which led to a general and above atrophy, which I still have some of till this day (has also led to back issues), though I now try to use both more equally.
But here's the thing, though I'm right hand dominant, I'm still left foot dominant. If I play soccer/football, I power kick and primarily control with my left foot.
I use to be very good at drawing, though I'm not particularly visually oriented for a male.
Anyways, as to chart patterns, two things stand out. I have a strong emphasis, both Sign and Planetary wise, on Yin/Feminine energies. Every Sign and Planet is polarized to either the Yin or Yang and to different, relative degrees.
Some are far more polarized than others. For example, the slowest vibratory symbols, such as Mars, Saturn, and Moon, are either very Yang or very Yin polarized. Mars (red) and Saturn (absence of Light)-Yang, and Moon (coral pink primarily)-Yin.
As the vibratory levels increase, they start to become more innately balanced and merged. When you get to purple Jupiter--it's fairly balanced/integrated, but in Jupiter's case, slightly Yang polarized. The Sun even more integrated/balanced, but also slightly Yang polarized.
Anyways, when you "add up" all the respective Signs and Planets in their relative degree of strength--while I have a pretty good overall balance between these, my chart (and psyche) is slightly tipped (polarized) to the Yin side. (Which is part of the reason why I have tended to get along much better with females than males my whole life, and for either gender, I get along most with those people that are like myself, more blended and balanced).
What does this have to do with left handedness. Go back to the right brain thing. The right brain seems to relate more to the Yin/Feminine side of us. Now, you might say, then why aren't most women left handed or why isn't there a higher preponderance of left handedness among women than men? Good questions, but we got to think a little deeper and holistically.
If one understands Yin attunement, than one understands that Yin attunement is innately more go with the flow, more adaptable, more easily changed by outside conditions and forces. It is a receptive, sensitive, passive attunement. This makes for a higher intuitiveness and psychic sensitivity, but it also means that more directed, forceful, focused, etc type Yang energies can strongly affect it.
Unfortunately, our culture is both Yang and left brain polarized in a lot of respects. Just look at school systems, especially in America where they are cutting out art, music, and drama, and focusing more and more on math etc (math can become very right brain actually, once one gets into the higher and more abstract/symbolic maths, but regular math is very left brain oriented).
Basically, if the outside culture and forces tell women, or more left hand/right brain dominant people, "you should be right handed/and more left brain oriented", we will try to go with that flow and can adapt better than a very left brain oriented person. Try to get a very left brain oriented person to live left handed or the like, and it will quickly become an exercise in futility unless they really plug away at it over time. Yang attunement by nature is less adaptable, less go with the flow.
Think of Venus, Moon, and Neptune vs Mars and Saturn.
Think of the difference between water and fire elements--the two most Yin-Yang polarized elements. Water comes upon some outer force and it flows around same or starts to gently, but over time wear it down.
Fire comes upon an outer force, and it tries to transform/change it with it's immense heat which by nature is catalyzing and transformative.
It's important to note, one is not better or more important than the other. The ideal and best condition is to balance, integrate, and eventually merge them into one, like white gold. Then, one can apply whatever is best for a particular situation. Sometimes Yin attunement is better for some situations and sometimes Yang attunement is better/more effective than others. Sometimes one needs to be gentle, soft, and/or yielding, and sometimes one needs to be firm or directive. Just depends on the situation and on the people or conditions involved. There is no "one size fits all".
Sometimes more Yang polarized people, like fiery Sagittarius Sun Bruce Lee, need to learn how to get in better touch with the water/Yin side of consciousness for a greater strength, which is why he realized that whole, "be like water my friend" teaching.
But for some folks, say who are very Yin polarized, for them the wisdom might actually be, "be like fire my friend", because they may be too passive, too yielding, to go with the flow, etc.
So, in essence, if there is any connection to the chart between handedness, I would at first look to Yin and Yang polarization, but with the realization that the Yin polarized tend to change to the outer forces more, which is probably why left handedness is pretty rare.
I would look more specifically to Uranian energy in combo with strong Yin attunement, to see left handedness. Because with Uranus comes a certain amount of fixity and a "I'm going to be whatever way that I actually am, no matter what others say".
Uranus is somewhat unique among the symbols when it comes to the whole Yin-Yang thing. For Uranus, bounces back and forth between the polarizations, and yet, at it's heart, it is more Yin than Yang. This is why Cayce's guidance called Uranus that of the psychic-intuitive. To be psychic and intuitive in a receiving way, you have to be in touch with the Yin/Feminine side--for the very nature of same is that of receptivity.
This is why many men are so bloody clueless to nonphysical or spiritual reality, psychism, etc. They are so stuck in their left brains, and so focused on activity physically and intellectually, it's like they just can't tune in or see/perceive the deeper, more subtle, and unseen levels of reality.
This is why that you'll find a lot more psychic readers, more astrologer interested folks, etc, etc are female than male. It's starting to get more balanced out as time goes on, but 20 years ago or more, when I use to attend spiritual/new age classes, I was often the sole male, and if not completely alone, among the definite minority. Women by nature are more tuned into these subtle, hidden levels of life and reality. They listen to their intuitive feelings more. To do so, there needs to be a certain amount of quietness and reflection i.e. some "going within".
