It is your creation of "home" in the world, your subjective definition of "success" or the mark you intend to make in the world. 8th house is the legacy you actually leave ofcourse.

Some people are motivated to achieve based on their background. It becomes the motivating force that has them "insert" themselves definitively in the world.

Whilst others face crippling life impediments as a result of not being able to deal effectively with the psychological conditioning of their background.

Moon is the archetype of early life conditioning and our perception of emotional security or nurturing.

The Moons(sense of emotional security) direct aspect to the Mc doubles down on how much the early environment influences the person you show to the world(Mc) for better or worse.

So for instance,if Moon in Aqua is square Mc in Taurus;

On the one hand the lack of emotional safety/ closeness due to possibly emotionaly distant/ irresponsible parents(Aqua),forms the basis of ones need to establish physical security (Taurus).

So the definition of "success"(Mc) to the native may mean having a loving family, having a stable income/job ,creating an empire of "stuff" or having a physically demonstrative relationship.

BUT on the other hand,the additional presence of the square suggests that it isn't always smooth sailing. Some could face relationship issues,bankruptcy,problems with keeping a job etc.

Though the intention is the Mc,the Moon keeps interfering and there is recessive momentum from all that that needs to be effectively set aside or used to as a motivation to "break-through".

I have Moon/Cancer opp Midheaven in Cap.My early environment had too much emotional involvement(Ic in Cancer).I was subject to parent's moods & feelings a lot. There was confusion as to whom I am outside of them.

So I am motivated to create more emotional distance and clarity between what I feel and what is real(Cap). Or atleast create tangible security that will not sway or waiver in the winds of time(Saturn rules Cap).

The opposition to Moon however says I battle to create this consistently.

In my career specifically(where the Mc is predominantly activated),I feel like I am subject to the emotional responses of others

My work environment has been fraught with emotional up/downs.My bosses have either been very moody or I have "picked up" on their mood swings a lot.
