I feel really lost. My boss told my four coworkers and I that jobs are being eliminated and he can only keep one of us. We are doing really well financially-speaking, but I guess the goal is to save even more money by having one person do the work of 5 people. He has not made a decision on who he will keep. I'm thinking about offering to leave even though I love my job. This is the third time this has happened at my workplace. IP: Logged |

You're having your Venus Return today! The transiting NN Cancer is crossing down into your 6th. I had a boss that used to do that. Stressful to feel like you could lose your job at a whim. Don't quit what you 'love'.. You'll have benefits available to help you if they are the ones letting you go? If you've passed-through several of these 'eliminations' before, there's a chance you'll stay? (Good Luck to you... Hope it works out.)

I will be the second Gemini sun to respond to your post the first being mirage29.Based on your descrption it sounds as if your falling into the typical Gemini sun behaviour of I want to run or just get away from the situation. I know its not easy...I just had a bad code demo with my thesis supervisors today and I feel like running away. I keep telling myself to calmly reason what to do next. The biggest strength of a gemini sun when there placed in a tough situation is to plan and play both outcomes, that's our strength. So I've already drew up all my options and outcomes and planed on how to deal with whatever might hit me. For your case I whouldn't quit right now. I'd just get a side job that way your prepared in case you get axed. But I whouldn't resign just in case you end up being the person your boss ends up wanting to keep. At least that way you've seen all angles and prepared for it, a Gemini sun should be exceptionally skilled at doing that and of course if all else fails then run... I'm not running from the situation; that's not my style. My dilemma is that all of my coworkers have multiple children to support, so if I quit, then I can at least save one of them. I don't have any kids; I only have to worry about myself. I will feel immensely guilty for staying and costing one of my coworkers a job that they need to support their kids. All of my coworkers are hardworking and are very deserving of their job. Ugh. I'm tired of my life being in constant upheaval. I knew this job was too good to be true..... IP: Logged |

I would personally start loooking for another job just bc for me someone telling me they need to let go of 3 people is a huge red flag so even if I make the cut and the other three people are let go I would wonder if I am next eventually and no thank you! I need to feel safe in my job as I have bills to pay...Playing the Devil's Advocate if I have kids my need to feel safe at a job would be even higher!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so I wouldn't want to stay at a job of this nature if I had kids at all, I mean like seriously, I Would want something a lot more solid. I believe she's a Gemini sun with Scorpio somewhere...I think either Asc or moon. I've become vary impressed with people with scorpio moon or asc lately. They can be surprisingly caring..just don't hurt them then you'll get the scorpio sting. quote: Originally posted by Astra: I'm not running from the situation; that's not my style. I'm on the fence on this one.. I use to do a lot of nice things for my coworkers until I got stabbed in the back by one of them. Unless there your besties..I whouldn't. What a wonderfully Compassionate soul you have, Astra! *hug* {{ }} I see your Sun-Mercury and Chiron in your 5th. The 5th House has to do with children. Mercury does too. The guilt.. I have been in that similar kind of situation before. I understand how that feels.. You have "stress" from being with a company that seems untrustworthy, cut-throat, and even unstable. It's HARD to have that 'background' feeling like you can be eliminated at their next whim. In that situation, I would feel nervous all the time. (Been THERE too!! Much more inner peace to ditch that situation. You want 'work' to provide a 'balance' for you.) Then, you have the "stress" of seeing those mothers IN that same unstable work situation, but their incomes support families. BECAUSE you have that stress of having a tender Heart for others, you won't be able to 'shake' that. You need to protect yourself by working for a GOOD company. Some folks easily can be 'me first'.... (And in general, it's good to have your own interests represented in 'equal' to others.) Other folks (like me ~oy) would NOT be able in deepest self to bring that conflicting matter (of good conscience) to an inner-resolve. It's just the way you're wired, and there's nothing wrong with that-- in fact, that's quite humanitarian and VERY okay that people like you exist in this world, Astra. That's SUCH a Blessing. Stress, stress, stress. Better to find a position somewhere else that treats its employees 'like' family. Atmosphere at work can be EVERYTHING. You might want to work in a place that feels like home to you. Venus on your IC, 4th. The 4th House includes work-atmospheres. Like someone else said here.. Start finding another position (for your own feeling free from that yucky situation). And, you'll have "good karma" stored from your heart wanting to protect the women and children. *hug* Happy International Women's Day. IP: Logged |

I would actually be quicker to attribute that to sun in gemini as geminis are very humanitarian actually than to the moon in scorpio but regardless I would want to look at her chart, sounds very 12H and Neptune, sacrificial and rescuer/savior dynamics which is actually not healthy even though is so sweet. She needs to let these folks feel empowered by them finding their voice, resilience and ability to get through stuff, she rescues them they lose the opportunity to do this but regardless is just healthy to take care of yourself first and then others so finding a job first if she is going that route is important. Add that she will only be able to "rescue" one of them. IP: Logged |

Come to think of it in the end leaving her job so that one of them can stay at a job that is not secure forcing her to look for another job that will offer her more security is not that big of a sacrifice. You can frame it that way to make you feel you are helping though but ultimately what is empowering and helpful for each person in this situation is to problem solve and be resourceful and realize that with the skills they have they can find another job and they will be okay even though it will be uncomfortable for a few months as this transition happens for each. Astra, I came across your chart stored in mini form in google and can see it well enough to at least tell you this ... A large part of what you're experiencing now is the dual transit of Saturn & Pluto conjunct natal Mercury. Saturn is closer now and timing this. Saturn conjunct natal Mercury is often a time for saying goodbye to old ways of thinking and/or old patterns of communication. The best results come when you can process things internal as they are relevant to you and what meets your inner sense of integrity. During this transit you can find out you may've been wrong about some things or that you need to withdraw from some communications in order to process things internally. This transit is the beginning of reform in your thinking. Saturn may have presented the problem so to speak, but Pluto will continue this process well beyond the current situation. It is a slower transformation that can effect your beliefs and how you approach analysis, etc. So in a sense your quandary is right on time. To get more specific I think it is better to do it in Personal Readings, but I'll leave this thread here for however you want to use it. ------------------ Soul Stars Astrology by The Declinations Guy Expert birth chart rectification The birth chart is just a starting place. +1 I used to think about the other people first. It brought me more problems and disappointments. However, I still believe in helping as long as you don’t make damages to yourself. I saw much people who you want to feel sorry about, actually, doing much better. However, if the company downsizing staff often.. Is it worthy to wait in fear if they let you go next time? It could be worthy if there’s a good severance benefits package.

Hypatia and DualGem:I'm a Gemini sun with a Capricorn moon and Capricorn rising. My chart ruler, Saturn is in Scorpio. Both Saturn and Pluto are in Scorpio in my 10th house with Pluto conjunct MC. Pluto also aspects all of my inner planets, so I have a lot of Scorpionic energy. DualGem, you are absolutely correct about the scorpio sting! Mirage: I work in management in the healthcare industry, which is not quite as stable as people think. Layoffs happen every now and then at the management and administrative levels. This happens at every hospital and it's something I can't avoid in my career unless I choose a lower-ranked position. The good news is that at the last minute, Corporate offered one of my coworkers a different position, which he accepted. My other coworkers were able to find employment elsewhere, so my job is safe for now. Kannon: That explains a lot. I have definitely been a lot more withdrawn in my communication. Right now I have transiting Saturn square MC, which makes everything concerning my career uncertain. IP: Logged |
