Best in which way? Bruce Lee was a Mars in Scorpio. I'd say he was a complete bada$$ in his own right. IP: Logged |

Generally speaking ...1. Capricorn. This is its exaltation, its palace, the sign that has the most potential for harnessing Mars's initiative and passion productively. 2. Aries. This is its home sign where its nature of self-interest, enthusiasm, and can-do approach is generally well expressed. 3. Scorpio. This is its backwoods home turf where its more creative potential comes from being more emotionally in-touch and where its energies are more reserved. 4. Leo. This sign generally allows the greatest expression of the fiery nature of its passion, but also stubbornness and ego. That being said, sign is only a fraction of the overall strength of Mars in the individual birth chart. Its relation to Asc or MC can contribute more strength than sign. ------------------ Soul Stars Astrology by The Declinations Guy Expert birth chart rectification The birth chart is a starting place not a pre-determiner of fate. I think it depends on the situation and goal. For my colleague I prefer the cardinal ones over the fire Mars - sometimes they get too hasty, but it's helpful for getting things done quickly. In a romantic or love or whatever with the s gender you're most attracted, I like the emotional intensity so fire Mars are my favorite, probably helps with my Aries moon. You mean you have Mars in Capricorn. By orienting your actions towards outcomes of practical value for yourself and others equally, developing organizational and managerial skill, practicing persistence. ------------------ Soul Stars Astrology by The Declinations Guy Expert birth chart rectification The birth chart is a starting place not a pre-determiner of fate. I like my Mars in Jemini because I like to communicate a lot and do many things, and it's also conjunct my moon, so I have very strong gut feelings as to what to do.I think every mars can be great or challenging, it varies according to aspects, but it really depends on how the person uses the energies. Mars in Gemini can be scattered energies, and I have experienced that too. Having it square Saturn kind of helped in that sense. IP: Logged |

The dignities of the planets were created as integral part of an ancient system which needs to be understood before start improvising modifications. as a rule mars would be best position to achieve his purpose (war, go for what we want)in the houses where it has dignities: Aries & Scorpio,Capricorn.
with ARIES mars ask directly and if he needs to fight, then he goes for it unafraid. mars is best in a soldier, but not in the strategist who plans the war. in a competitition mars is self-centered and that makes him not so distracted. he is focused to the present, not worried about the past of the future. he is there in the present fighting what he has to fight. he is not needing the adulators as he is too egocentric to care about it. in Scorpio you have the strategist who is studying everybody move, while keeping a poker face. he can read undercurrents and thoughts and anticipate other fears and he has not mercy. so when he attacks, it is unexpected and sharp as scorpio can be. in Capricorn the strategy of the scorpio get a high in the cold earth sign. here the energies are slowly realeased (think of a maraton), every move planned and the sense of timing is just PERFECT. no one will have better sense of attacking or going after or asking for what they want that mars in Capricorn. i am not talking about persons with these placements as these are contaminated by all the other influences of the chart. here i am talking about the principle of the mars in these sign in its pure essence. Imo Capricorn is the best sign for Mars by far, in every possible way. Aries I believe is the 2nd best. IP: Logged |

Could you elaborate more Leo and Scorpio? Leo because is my Mars sign and I believe it's lost on me mainly due to my natal Neptunian placements and aspects. Scorpio because I've known quite a few with that Mars sign and they actually have a pretty "easy" natal chart yet they don't achieve things they want, they're generally on the lazy side, they don't have more stamina/energy/physical power compared to other Mars signs I don't see anything really positive. Yes because Mars isnt as upfront as the rising sign which people notice right away. They may see Aries rising as too forward or dangerous even. An Aries Sun is pretty much the same these people go after what they want. But an Aries Mars is less noticeable then the ASC or Sun sign so I think its better to have. Mars also rules sexuality so this person has a healthy sex drive and sex life. Mars in Capricorn doesn't have a healthy sex life. Capricorn is the sign of Karma, so there are problems. Same with Mars in Scorpio. This person has a strong sex drive but they can be jealous and treacherous. Mars in Aries isn't any of these and can move on if needed in sexual matters without clinging on for life.

In my experience there is no "best" sign for Mars. Mars rules Aries and Scorpio, however there are still challenges that can be brought on if the Mars in question struggles with tough aspects such as oppositions or squares. Mars conjunct Neptune even can make Mars rather sluggish and prone to energy being too focused on the imagination instead of constructively used, even if Mars was exalted in Capricorn. An Aries Mars can be tamed by a hard aspect to Neptune or Venus, making one too physically indulgent or have a hard time properly estabilishing boundaries. My dad has a lot of Mars energy and is very strong in Mars, yet his Mars is in mutable Gemini. However, Mars is tightly conjunct his Ascendant which makes his Mars more prominently expressed. It's also ruled by his Mercury in Virgo so there aren't many inherent blockages for the expression of this energy. IP: Logged |
