Me and my friends were out on the town a couple of weeks ago. Anyways, long story short, one of them has his Mars in the 1st house. (all of us are into astrology)

Anyways, I feel like he has a drinking or overindulgence problem. Could this be attributed to him having his Mars in the 1st? He destroyed a whole case like it was nothing...of beer, that is. Like he was ordering a pizza or something. It was terrible yet incredible at the same time. Is there any correlation with this placement? Crazy...it really does scare me to be honest. I care about my bud a lot. I think his Moon is in Aries too. He's a Scorpio as well. Is there any correlation with severe habitual issues with mainly the Mars placement or any combinations? I'm not sure about the rest of his chart.

I have Mars in the first. Yes, I tend to hit the bottle a lot, at times. I can drink quite a bit at times, especially when I want to get something out of my mind. I would be interested to hear from other Mars in the first house...(Mars is in Cap, so I tend to also be a serious drunk, but at times super funny and deadpan too).

Well I can understand a lot of drinking with you being from Serbia. My ex gf is from Estonia. She said beer over here is like water compared to over there. (US) I'd be interested to hear from others too.

Sorry for all of the confrontation but I hope you understand where I'm coming from now. I know you're sticking up for people but I never meant anyone any offense. I was just trying to get the bee buzzing a little if that makes sense.

I'll grab a six pack and throw one down with ya though. Even though it'll be nothing compared to what you're used to though, I'm sure. My brother is a Mars in Cap too.

Hey man, you sound cool, actually. Sorry if I was too straightforward, might have been some of my (many) fire placements. Truce man?

Truce. I'm sorry too. I'm very straight-forward. Scorpio is my favorite sign actually. I love Scorpio Suns. I feel like I have to fight for their trust sometimes, but when I win it it's like the best feeling in the world. It's ok, I understand. Take it easy.

*Edit*

I've got mostly water in my chart but the fire I do have is pretty prominent. Double fire Moon in Aries (5th house) and Mars in Aries. (Since we're on an astrology site)

Not gonna lie, I made this thread to mock you, but now that I see how cool you are... I feel terrible now. It's only because you kinda ****** me off earlier but I hope we're cool now though.

My Mars is in the 6th house, so I can't speak from personal experience. However, I do have a few friends with Mars in the 1st house. These types of people tend to live life in the fast lane. They are passionate and impulsive. This can cause them to inhale a whole pizza, drink a copious amount of alcohol, go on a sudden road trip, etc....you get the idea. Generally, people with Mars in the first house have very good health and great physical strength so they can get away with abusing their bodies without suffering as many negative consequences as other placements.

I did want to answer your question in your previous thread:

quote:
I've always struggled in life as far as my identity was concerned. I realize that you don't have a grasp on my entire chart, so you can't really evaluate it wholly. I just never knew exactly what "it" was that I felt like "disabled" me from truly being able to connect with others. I can talk and be myself around strangers all day, but when it comes to people that really matter the most to me. I've always felt that I've somehow been too guarded or screwed it up. I guess now I have the answer. I just don't know what to do about it. Should I just start being my a$$hole (smarta$$) self around people? What would you suggest?

I don't think you're an a**hole at your core. You've been perfectly nice to me and I'm a stranger. I'm not someone who is close to you nor someone you care about, so you haven't had to be nice to me at all, and yet you chose to be pleasant towards me.

Most of the time, jerkish behavior is a defense mechanism that people use because they are afraid of being hurt. Being mean towards others builds this impenetrable wall around you to prevent others from getting close to you. The idea is to reject others before they can reject you. No one wants to feel rejected or unwanted. It's incredibly painful, which is why this is a common defense mechanism. The problem with doing this is that you will end up isolated from everyone and become very lonely because are lacking an emotionally intimate connection with others.

The best thing to do is to let go. Realize that if someone likes you, then that's great! If they don't, then that's their loss. You were fine without that person in your life when you didn't know they existed and you will continue to be fine without them.

Yes, when you open your heart up to someone, you risk experiencing pain, but if you never experience pain, then you won't experience true happiness. There's nothing better than being able to be yourself around others. Be your authentic self. People would rather be around someone who is rough around the edges but is honest as opposed to someone who is polite, but two-faced. You can't go wrong with honesty.

Thank you and I agree, and it can be a defense mechanism but for me it's just all about being able to express myself fully. Like I said, I can talk to strangers all day but once it gets personal, I always seem to screw something up. With family and friends.

Also, I can't remember how I worded it but I wasn't really referring to this type of advice, even though it helps. I was more referring to how to deal personally with the Moon Inconjunct Ascendant bs. I don't know how many inconjunctions you have in your chart, but it can be a pain focusing your energy on it. Since it's like basically trying to balance two extremely unlike energies. I think the key with the inconjunctions though is that you usually have to just be able to feel the energy out in a natural subconscious manner. I think it might be the type of energy that is truly second nature or else the individual might feel in conflict trying to balance both sides perfectly. The key to "perfection" is to just let it all be. I don't know if this is true or not but it's just the way that I feel. I guess it makes sense since I've always been a feeler, I'd rather intuitively understand something and feel something rather than trying to rationalize it a lot of times. It's almost like being a baby or having baby like characteristics.. they don't think, they just feel. Now you take that type of energy and basically apply it to adulthood and I think that might be the key to inconjunctions. I could be wrong though. It's weird though and it doesn't make much sense to me (the geometric/trig/calculus portion of it I mean), but I have to say that I do like it a lot. I couldn't see myself in any other way. Like the Mercury inconjunct Neptune/Uranus for example, there have been times when I've just intuitively felt the right way about certain things, whether it was science, something mechanical, astrological even, sometimes even stuff relating to the universe like cosmology or astronomy. Things just "click" within my brain. I used to be in the Army Reserves and one time my platoon and I were trying to figure out how to work a generator (sounds dumb, I know). Anyways, I was a diesel mechanic and I had never touched the damn things, ever. Not once. I remember walking over to a group of some of my platoon members huddled all around this generator. For some reason one actually was a generator mechanic, but to be honest, you learn most of how to work on "stuff" after you graduate boot camp and AIT. So, anyways, I go over there and they're trying to figure this thing out. I take a quick glance at the control module or whatever the hell it was and it's like something clicked within my brain. I intuitively knew how to turn the sob on, and I just did it out of no where. Everyone was like, how'd you do that? I was like, I don't know, just made sense.. lol. Thanks for the help bro. If anyone is thinking military, I would suggest going active but non-combat oriented. You don't get potentially blown up but you're also not a weekend warrior either to where you just "learn" your trade a few weekends a month. It isn't good knowledge absorption to only practice your trade a few times a month. I think you should be immersed within your field of choice, that way you can learn and absorb as much as possible. Now that I think about it, maybe I am a psychic sponge with some things. I also pick up on people's thoughts too. It scares me sometimes. Feelings can be kind of hazy though, but I can definitely "feel" something is there even though I might not be able to accurately identify what they're feeling. I'm a Cancer Gemini.

My brother has it in Aries in First house, and his abilities has always surprised me, like the faggot never exercises, but his movements are so swift , I mean I had to work my balls off to get the same movements(and I don't mind it a bit, but bruhh), and he does it with ease, the stances and all that. And there was this one incident in our childhood that shocked me, I used to play sports with him, he always used to get his ass beaten, as I am 10 years older than him, but he used to always play with me like a mad man u know, later I found myself playing with people of my age, and I could dribble past them with ease, like they were nothing at all, I realized it around that time that the kid actually imrpoved me instead of other way around, like wtff

my cap mars is 3rd in placidus (loosely conjunct neptune) and i've had plenty of substance abuse issues over the course of my life (smoked weed all day every day from the time i woke up til i went to sleep for years, heroin addiction, pcp addiction, nicotine addiction, heavy drinking, regular benzo use, cocaine etc i've used almost everything)

aries moon though (opposite ascendant/venus square mars which is also square my ascendant)

i have venus conjunct my ascendant (libra) and south node 1st house 4 degrees from my ascendant along with a 1st house pluto (which sextiles my sun, sun is trine neptune)

i also have uranus and mercury sextiling my venus/ascendant (part of a kite with my moon)

wouldn't blame a first house mars, because me and binging on drugs and alcohol has been very normal for a good chunk of my life

Mars in 1st here. I see this placement as an indicator for a more impulsive character.

Mine is in aquarius and tbh my "thoughts" are "impulsive". I need to make an effort to analyze my thoughts before expressing them.

I dont abuse substances tho.

Yeah I can see that. Any first house influence with Mars is going to bring about a very fluid harmony in movement. It's natural.

My brother is also a Mars in Cap and he smokes a lot and drinks a lot too. Can't remember the house though. I think 5th if I remember correctly. Mars Conjunct Neptune, I think he has that placement as well. He's one of the biggest rebels I've ever met. He's also a Mars Conjunct Uranus and an Aquarius Sun. He's never been the most naturally gifted athletic individual, yet we all grew up playing sports, but he's really good with anything that's creative. Especially with music or just odd things in general. He taught himself how to skateboard and can put others at ease with explaining concrete things. He can go on a shooting spree too in basketball. He's weird man.. lol

Yeah I can definitely see that as well. Your Mars carries out in the fashion of Aries. My thoughts are impulsive too but I can't tell if that's attributed more to my Mercury or Mars. Maybe both.
