I've been studying my mother's chart recently. We have our natal charts from the moment we're born and that's what we have to work with through life (or that's how I see it at least). So what happens if something so drastic happens that completely changes a person's whole personality and makeup? When my mother was 20 years old, she was hit by a mack truck. It was a very severe accident and she broke her neck with substantial head trauma. She was in a coma for 2 months and when she finally woke up, she thought she was 12 years old. Absolutely no memory of the last 8 years. She was actually engaged at the time and of course, she didn't remember him so he left. This accident set a course of drastic change in her life. Without it, she would have never met my father and obviously, I wouldn't even be here. I've only ever known my mother as she is now, still a perpetual "teenager" with horrible mood swings and a complete lack of understanding of consequences for her actions. There was almost no affection from her and she was extremely violent towards my father (she still is to her bf now) and is EXTREMELY jealous. She was even jealous of me because, in her own words, my father loved me more than he loved her. I know this is a result of her head trauma and there is no "fixing" it. She is who she is and it will never change. Or at least it hasn't in my 36 years of life so far. Here's where I'm confused. I talk to people all of the time who tell me that before the wreck, my mother was an extremely sweet, caring, and generous person. She was wonderful with children and was exceptionally bright and witty. Shy and meek are just NOT words I can ever imagine using to describe my mother but somehow, that's who she was before this wreck. Her chart, in my opinion, perfectly describes the person I've always known, not the person she was before. My question is, through life and circumstances, can we "turn into" our natal charts by some soul agreement or did my mother just bring out 2 extremes of one chart? Here is her natal, followed by the transits on the day of the accident. Her birth time is not exact but we do know it's within an hour of what I've guessed by narrowing down her personality.

Any of us can go into adaptive behaviors that can take us off our forward path in life.

However, the head trauma your mother suffered can be addressed effectively through the intelligent application of homeopathic medicine. There are two remedies that immediately come to mind that are often used by professional homeopaths: *Arnica montana* and *Hypericum perforatum*. Those remedies together could smooth out much of your mother's condition, bringing greater balance, but possibly requiring another more targeted remedy.

So I don't believe her condition, or any condition, cannot be healed. But it requires the willing participation and intention of them. People don't just go back to who they were before. They change by growing through it -- or possibly by regression.

Astrologically ...

In general, astrological influences only set up a basic starting place of background influences.

The accident she experienced that changed her temperament reeks of multiple outer planet influences. So let's look at the transits for the day of that accident ...

- Uranus has a sharp influence in her natal chart being square Sun. It was square its natal position on the day of the accident and very closely opposite natal Sun. It was also at 19S06 declination, contra-parallel her natal Sun 19N19 (and possibly natal Moon +/-19°N).

- Neptune at nearly 21S52 declination was contra-parallel her natal Pluto 21N24. The rest of its aspects were flowing. (Mars at 22°N was also contra-parallel natal Pluto.) Transpersonal planets transiting a natal transpersonal planet always sets up a moment of soul growth opportunity, more challenging or stressful in the harder aspects like this one.

- Pluto 6N56 was parallel natal Venus 6N21.

In her natal chart, Sun is relatively strong and with a square to Uranus is already somewhat prone to extremes, even if that didn't show in any obvious way before the accident. So part of what happened was that the Uranus transit opposite natal Sun (and Moon apparently) and square its natal Uranus brought out those potential extremes by the long-lasting effects upon her body and energy patterns (Sun/1st house, Moon, etc).

Her natal chart has Pluto conjunct North Lunar Node. That's an aspect that brings necessary transformative experiences, potentially extreme.

Who she was or how she behaved before the accident was not a lie. It was not a facade. It was very much a real part of who she is. In my view, we do not make soul agreements or in any way intend to become more extreme or imbalanced. Quite the opposite.

Traumas have a way of breaking down barriers between the conscious and subconscious. Some anesthetics do as well. That can bring up past/shadow parts of us that we want to outgrow. This is why the membrane between the conscious and unconscious is so important and vital to balance.

About your mother's Ascendant ...

Did you notice both Neptune & Pluto at 22°? Because they are not making any aspects to natal Sun it is possibly they point to her Asc by dual quincunx -- in theory. That would put Uranus opposite/contra-parallel Asc (20-24° if it indeed is in Taurus).

However, her loka planets Venus & Mercury [Sun in 1st decan nirayana Taurus = Venus; Moon in 1st decan nirayana Gemini = Mercury] would need to confirm the Asc and/or MC/IC axes, which Mercury could do in 1st with Asc bumped forward and in trine to a MC a few degrees forward its position in the chart you linked.

Just spit-balling here. Feel free to email me directly if you want to go into it in more depth. I like resolving such Ascendant questions if possible when I've got some time. No obligation.

So possibly the accident was a way to bring all of her shadows to this lifetime to work through? That actually makes sense to me considering the person she was afterwards. Im looking at one natal, but with two completely different personalities representing it at different times. Before, she was more like her pisces south node. Very sensitive, creative, artistic, affectionate, and loving. After, it's like all hell broke loose. Imagine an alcoholic 13 year old in a 21 year old body with a traumatic brain injury. No bueno.

I'm positive her ascendant is in taurus, give or take a few degrees. We know she was born close to 5am. I've played around with our synastry and I've placed it somewhere between 13-16 taurus so yes, I'd accept your theory of bumping it a little. Also, would a picture of her help?

I don't know much about homeopathic medicine. I looked into it years ago but I highly doubt my mother would blink an rye at it. She's still a severe alcoholic and is still has a lot of effects from the trauma.
