Actually, it's 3rd house - for general hospitality / hospitality as industry. Jupiter (Zeus) is in charge as a planet, being the God of hospitality IP: Logged |

Odd I've never heard this being 3rd house related. I know the sixth house is the house of service. Which is also apart of hospitality. IP: Logged |

It depends what do you mean by hospitality. If you mean the hospitality industry - it’s related to service. If hospitality - the way you welcome people, it’s in the communication house. IP: Logged |

Because the 3rd house also refers to travelers & travel / travel means (all vehicles) and traffic in general, tourism - so to all people who come in and out of your house and whom you might greet as a stranger, a friend or member of the family (basic hospitality) OR as someone who provides a service of hospitality. It all falls under communication. 6th house would be more about how well you provide that service and how it affects your well-being.

The 9th house is about long distance travel. IP: Logged |

Yes, but before you go long distance, you still have to check the 3rd house. Any physical movement is considered as a way of communicating with your environment. Sorry, when somebody mentions hospitality my mind immediately jumps to airbnbs. That's why I mentioned traveling. The point is that any kind of service has to be communicated first. That's the 3rd house. Then, the service gets realized through the 6th house. How well - that depends on your work ethic, daily routines, overall health, your coworkers, etc.

6th = only restaurant hospitality.Venus and Jupiter are the planetary rulers of hospitality, but because Moon is the basic receptive principle it also is relevant. It depends on context. If you are hosting at home or at living quarters (hotels), then it is 4th house. If in public (non-food) the 7th. ------------------ Soul Stars Astrology by The Declinations Guy Expert birth chart rectification IP: Logged |

I like the idea of working in a hotel but I don't have any planets in the 7th house. I have Moon in the 6th house with Saturn and Uranus in the 4th. I guess it's probably my Sun in the 9th house. IP: Logged |

Hotels fly flags outside from many different countries, so it has to be the 9th house. The idea is to welcome everyone no matter their culture or language.IP: Logged |

You had mentioned possible relo to Las Vegas. Lots of opportunity to learn out there. ~Concierge?I don't know if they have internships for that, but maybe they provide lodging? You'd have to be willing to work your ass off?!!, physically, in that vocation. Need a good memory, be able to take orders from bosses and clients. Be extremely detail oriented, with a Heart for people, and meeting their comfort requirements. If you yourself have a 'hospitable' and gracious personality, people would warm to you easily. Feel like they can 'trust' you. You're with your parents right now? Ever think about trying out being 'Bed and Breakfast'? I remember years ago your saying that you loved to travel, went to Europe, stayed in hostels? .. Sagittarius When the pandemic gets better, you could think of providing that here? Hope you find what you're looking for. You have talents and skills. Find a way of blending some of those together? - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COVID-19_pandemic COVID 19 is kind of putting a wrench in things to do with the entertainment industry. IP: Logged |

I whould agree to the 6th house being exchange of service. My 6th house is in Cancer and my when ever I need something from my parents it always like an exchange. As per working in Hospitality..I will say one word "run" unless you own the property or ruining an airbnb. I worked as a night auditor while going through school at mid to high range hotels. Trust me its not a good place to work if you have any personal self respect. The property owners just treat it as a real estate business they don't really care about the staff or the guests. While the guests think there better then you and will squeeze whatever they can get out of you. But if your a slow and steady type hospitality might be an okay place which might be suited to a Taurus. Most of my coworkers were Taurus suns I think they liked the lack of change in routine. Here's one story that may make you laugh. There was a college escort that constantly whould book at the hotel. I couldn't figure out why she was a regular at the hotel. From the outset you would have never realized she was an escort she did a good job in being like everyone else. Then one day I realized, guy after guy went to her room. Then this one guy that appeared lost asked me how do you get to the second floor? Without thinking I gave him directions to to get to the escorts room. He then shrugged and looked embarrassed as I knew what he was up to. I never judged the escort..her mannerisms displayed someone from a middle class family dealing with a short term problem ie. like her Dad loosing his job. @mirage29: Well It's more to hospitality than being a concierge I remember on this http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/238875.html thread you mentioned that I should check out the beautiful hotel industries. I have customer service experience. And I'm currently completing a program to become a guest service agent in a hotel.IP: Logged |

I am SUPER HOSPITABLE and hospitality has been and always will be EXTREMELY important to me. I generally associate poor hospitality with low intelligence, bad upbringing, horrible culture. In some of the most civilized places, hospitality is EXTREMELY important. For me, if a culture does not care to practice any form of hospitality, it is a major sign of disrespect and self-centeredness. Lack of hospitality is also a huge sign of corruption and "trying times" where conditions are so awful no one even has time to think of being hospitable. This doesn't mean people need to bend over backwards. Even a small gesture is fine. The more rich and educated a culture, and the more art it produces, the more it tends to be hospitable. You'll note that countries lacking greatly in freedom of artistic expression, do not demand or teach much in the way of hospitality. Now that that's out of the way :P
I'm really a hospitable person. It doesn't matter if you like or dislike me, but if you are a guest who comes to my house and I have invited you, so long as you're not a convicted puppy killing criminal, I will do my best to be hospitable within reason. If said person acts ungrateful and entitled and attempts to take advantage, I will cease such things. But overall with nearly anyone, I shall be hospitable and accommodating. It is almost like a sense of being "honor bound" when I behave like this. I've always attributed it to my Virgo placements, 6th house, and Taurus rising. Venus + Virgo = home and hearth + service and help. IP: Logged |

You are 100% correct. That's why I say airbnb's will destroy the big chain hotels because with an airbnb you get the 1 to 1 interaction with the guests. The guests can forward there concerns and needs directly to the host/property owner and the host has more control on how to make things right. A bigger chain hotel there's a hierarchic order and policy before things can be made right for the guest. I laugh at those 1000+ printed "Thank you for choosing our hotel" cards in your room in the bigger hotels saying your special when every other room got one. Bigger chain hotels lack the same type of interaction you'd get in an airbnb. quote: Originally posted by ChildofVenus: @mirage29: Well It's more to hospitality than being a concierge I remember on this http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/238875.html thread you mentioned that I should check out the beautiful hotel industries. Sorry if I sound a little critical, but if you did have recent experience you would realize that OTA's have destroyed the industry.
I'd only reneter hospitality if I ran my own airbnb especially with interest rates going to be low for the next 20+ more years or started my own OTA. Question for you why is hospitality so attractive to a Taurus? is it routine?? My Planets ========================================= ☉‘ ♊, ☽ ♈, ASC ♑, ☿ ♊, ¡÷ ♉, ¡ö ♋ , ♃ ♒, ♄ ♏, ♅ ♐, ♆ ♑ IP: Logged |

I do customer service work from home and I have Moon in the 6th house. I think that has more to do with it for me. I didn't know it was really a Taurus thing I do like comfort though. IP: Logged |

Are you an Online Travel Agent? if you work at home. Sorry If I came off a little critical maybe even harsh. As with anything else as long as your creative with hospitality and do something a little different and unique..then it would work out. There was a May born Taurus I met her aries mars conjuncts my moon. She was so sweet and whould bake cookies and treats for people, even for me just for fun. She turned it into a full time business and she's not doing to bad..that type of doing things a little different. Strange, my Virgo doesn’t want to serve. I think only if you have special mindset for serving you can do it and be happy; otherwise, I agree with DualGem, service people don’t get necessary respect. ( not only hotel employees, but most of service) quote: Originally posted by DualGemV2: That's why I say airbnb's will destroy the big chain hotels because with an airbnb you get the 1 to 1 interaction with the guests. The guests can forward there concerns and needs directly to the host/property owner and the host has more control on how to make things right. There’s a different customer for them. I like good hotels because my major requirement is a good gym and a clean room, There’re pros and cons. You don’t know if an airbnb owner is decent hospitable person who won’t hide cameras in your room and clean it properly. Sometimes you barely can catch owner in airbnb. And I’d prefer to keep formal business interaction during my stay. I don’t need a stranger asking me personal questions. So 6th house hospitality would be more suitable for my Scorpio. Most likely, I won’t feel like home anyway,😎

I work for A Place for Mom helping Seniors and their families with assisted living arrangements. I like working with Senior Citizens. If I work in hospitality I would want to work as a Hotel or Restaurant manager. But I would like to work in a hotel. IP: Logged |
