Sometimes the feeling of being "born into my chart" feels trapping. I feel that my whole personality/appearance/persona has changed so much throughout the years that I don't really resonate much with my placements. You don't just take a quiz and get a birth chart. You're born into it. I'm not sure why, but it can make me feel trapped and like I'm unable to ever really change into who I want to be because I convince myself I'll only ever be what my chart says. Sometimes It gets to the point where I just wish I could choose my placements to the ones I resonate with and "customize" my chart. I'm wondering if anyone else has ever felt this way before. It's definitely an odd way to feel about astrology. I feel like astrology is starting to influence me in a negative way, but I don't want to block astrology out of my life. I just wish I could read about myself and placements and feel proud/happy that I resonate with it. I don't relate to my chart much at all, and it really can feel lonely and disappointing.

I don't know you but you sound like you are misusing astrology.

Do you even know for sure if your ascendant is correct? The wrong ascendant can make you not relate to your chart at all.

I had a lot of readings over the years from a variety of astrologers, and I didn't really start understanding my own chart until I myself started studying astrology in earnest and it took me years.

Then I discovered Vedic astrology which was all gloon and doom for my chart, and I walked around like a deer in headlights for a couple of years until I decided to reject my vedic chart, and guess what, my life stopped being gloom and doom.

I now understand my chart but I am not ruled by it. I know that it is a basic blueprint of my psyche, but I am also in control of my mind and I am not ruled by that basic blueprint.

If you feel your chart does not fit who you are, reject it. You still have free will.

You arent trapped by your chart its just your human self. You can become whatever placement you want that is what God is. He overcomes astrology placements by making his own. and those who have no idea about astrology are still victims to its influences.

Also remember that your chart doesnt stay the same. Its progresses over time while you live on earth and you learn and evolve from what your chart was when you were born.

To me, the chart tells you about the raw materials you start with. You get to decide what to build.

Whom or what determines the path depicted in the natal chart? ... Whom or what has the free will choice to reject or follow that path? ... What message was Jesus the Christ delivering by stating that if you bring out what is within, it will save you - but if you do not bring out what is within, it will destroy you? ... And whom or what is you and it in that message?

Yes, It's the exact time on my birth certificate. It's still the same sign as my sun sign. And thank you

- edit, sorry for the second reply, wasn't sure if it went through

It should be the correct time. I have my exact birth time on my birth certificate. But it's the same sign as my sun sign anyway. I feel like others see my as my chart but I don't. But I guess I should be in more control of my mind. I'm just very impressionable/easily influenced by things I read or what other say about me. Thank you though <3

My take on Astro

I thought we « grew » into our charts
so that in our 40s we start to identify with it more.

For a long time I felt like an Aquarius, but remember that when we are young we all want to either rebel a little or change the world. That said, I do have sun square Uranus. So there is an Aquarius element. But this can be channeled in a mature way into Management (not afraid to make changes) and broad thinking.

There are so many charts to explore for one person alone (solar return, progressions, transits, 9 persona?)
and also the combinations you make with another person which can teach you something.

Reading about astro brings richness to my world realising just how many different character types there are out there, differing needs -
it’s not just : men are like this and want this
and women are like that and want that.
Astro shows we are all much more than that and unique.
Astro broadens your mind and gives importance to the individual and therefore it cannot constrain you , rather it explains you or aids you

So. I like astrology because it explains the maze better than anything else. More than I could have ever thought about myself, it allows me to explore (and yet I consider myself a novice so I am excited about learning more)
Your birth chart is a basic road map
and you can see your strengths / likely talents and weaknesses and what you’re drawn to. Kinds of people, partner, career.
I find it actually helps boost identity and having a strong sense of who you are helps in life. I find comfort in confirmation.
I like how it’s not just about aspects, it’s also about which houses the aspects are in so there’s a different flavour, even if you and me were to have the same aspect in our respective charts, if you have different signs and houses at work it would give another twist. That’s where you can go deeper once you understand more and that may be why you don’t fully identify with a generic description.

I don’t see the natal chart as restricting in any sense more often it explains why / when there were issues in the first place or how I worked twice as hard but couldn’t earn much (Saturn block) even though I had much responsibility given to me.

When I look at a description for an aspect,
I don’t need to identify with every point in there
as I will have other things in my chart that balance it out. I like to look at a few descriptions and I make note of which web astrologer’s version I most identify with.
I will then come back to that person’s site in future and with increasing confirmations (agreeing with much that is said) I will start to rely on them and look there first. Also on googlebooks.
For example when I was looking for the description of Jupiter in 11th house. I read as many descriptions as I could. Coming to rely on certain astrologers also helped me formulate my own description for 2 people in the past.

The negative moment —
I once thought of those lucky (few?)
Some people somewhere are bound to be having an easy time as they have easy charts, right ?
Then I figured that current natal transits level the playing field as they are windows of opportunity: the right time to start something (a business, a course , or be on the look out for a relationship, or do some self-improvement or soul-searching.)

We are all under the same sky and that is also a comfort. Some transits we go through together at the same time, some just at the same kind of age (Astrology even explains the mid life crisis- that was wow !)
and then in parallel there is our personal unique world.

So, while I can understand people who say :
Why is the world like this - where we depend on money, tv and most work 9 to 5 and we ignore new faces or are plain scared ?
But I can’t relate to astrology feeling restricting as when used correctly it is a tool for self-improvement and exploration.

Also a lot is situational.
If you are brave enough to take yourself out of any given situation (where people are drinking too much, or where you feel unvalued or unsafe) and changing your life just hinges on you finding independence,, you can have the best Life you can possibly have.

I think astro makes you strong
and you are not herded in with anyone.
You have a birth chart based on time and place, your right to be on this earth same as anyone else and claim what is yours in knowledge, safety and personal truth.
