Hello! I'm considering solar fire or sirius. My main focus is on synastry, progressions, solar returns, composites, draconic, relocation interpretations. I look at a lot of asteroids and want a program that does heavy lifting on math for sensitive points like sun/moon midpoint and giving me dates for forecasting. Eventually I want to consider moving into astrology professionally. Any preferences? Help appreciated. IP: Logged |

I have Sirius 3 ... and regret not purchasing solar fire.Others have solar fire and regret not purchasing Sirius. Sirius is like buying a toolkit rather than purchasing individual tools ... everything you need is there, together with a lot that you will never use. If you have Windows 10 ... Get (and use) the free Astrocalc 6 program ... Purchase a commercial program later ... and be sure to consider Janus software before opting for either Sirius or solar fire. IP: Logged |

Thanks Graham! It seems most reviews are like yours on the fear of missing out if you go with only one and most have both. I'm using astro.com now with paid version and I've outgrown it ages ago. Which software is best for tracking eclipses and the sensitive points / dates that will be set off by Mars / saturn etc.. in the future? I predicted this year's predicament to my friend and family. Time to get serious! IP: Logged |

Not sure what you are wanting to do here. ... Sirius 3 produces a 100 year listing of "aspects of eclipse point to natal chart" ... It shows that the Total Solar Eclipse of 14th December 2020 will be at 23Sag08 - conjunct my natal Mars (1deg43 orb) and sextile my natal Venus (0deg25 orb). It also lists (for 100 years after birth) the annual solar eclipses, partial/penumbral/total lunar eclipses ... with the aspects they make to my natal planets/angles/nodes. [Note : I am not disappointed by what Sirius 3 does (and the developers are happy/keen to accommodate suggestions from users, if the program cannot already meet the latter's requirements). ... The disappointment comes from the program being able to produce stuff that I will never use, so regret having had to pay for those "bells and whistles" (rather than only the things I want).] IP: Logged |

Does this gold version have a function that can check exact date in history of important transits like astro-seek does? Astro.com doesn't have that function, neither can it draw transit to natal aspects quote: Originally posted by Graham: Astro Gold is now available for the Mac ... http://www.astrogold.io/get-astro-gold/for-macos/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7s9Zm0JAp6A http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h38OX3chh3k&feature=emb_rel_end

Not sure what you mean by checking exact date in history of important transits, stone. When you click on http://www.astrogold.io/get-astro-gold/for-macos/ ... the first image is of a 12-month search for Saturn transits and progressions to the natal chart. ... Is that not the function you are looking for?

I have a Mac so I've been looking at AstroGold for some weeks now. I've since outgrown Astro.com and Astro-seek.com too and really wanted the convenience of a more comprehensive software.Does anyone know if they ever have any promotional sales? Like during the holidays? To me, $229.99 is crazy expensive, especially since astrology is just a hobby and I have no plans to become a professional. I just can't afford an expense like that when money is already pretty tight given the covid pandemic. And I dislike how the mobile versions are sold separately b/c that's an extra $24.99-$39.99 (Android, iOS) on top of what you'd need to pay for the computer version. IP: Logged |

Buy the cheapest Windows10 computer that you can find ... and instal the (now free) former Astrocalc 6 commercial program provided at http://www.astrocalc.com. My MacBook cost a small fortune, and is a quality product with excellent applications built into it ... But there is no built in astrology program - and it costs another small fortune to buy any third-party software for the Macbbok. IP: Logged |
