I used to post my Youtube videos here and after a long break, I have gotten back to recording. This time combining astrology with crystal healing. I have two videos I'd love you all to check out:

However, I think it's pointless to try to keep this thread alive. It's been almost a year and a half since I started this channel and no matter what I do, even with new styles, new equipment (got a new mic for it and a pretty expensive one too), continuing to learn, how to make the layout look interesting, etc., it's just not happening.

I rarely get even just one comment on my videos, no matter where I post and promote. I've asked several times what people want to see, etc., but I just don't get a reply. I send out the signal constantly but I'm not being reciprocated. I'm thankful for the ones I get, but it's just not fullfiling me having to wait, after every video that small feeling of hope that this one's going to be it (I've resolved to only recording when I feel like it, and when I'm passionate). It shouldn't have to be this much of a struggle to get any kind of lobbying going. All it's doing is reinforce my past heartbreaking experiences with constantly being ignored, overlooked, invisible and not getting any credit or appreciation. But even in communities and social media dedicated to astrology and tarot, it's just impossible. I read about successful readers who talk about how they went from 0 to big in a few months and I'm just like... "HOW??".

So it's hard for me having to take a step back from this and let go for now. But I think I'll have to start doing this low-key without sharing because the constant radio silence and rejection is too much for me, and frankly, ruining something for me that was once a huge dream years ago.

To put it in perspective here: I have Jupiter and Chiron bang on my midheaven of public life & career & reputation. Either of those is my guiding planet. Jupiter is even a singleton as the only planet in a fire house. And it's in Cancer in the 9th so lots of dignity. This should SCREAM "born to be a teacher" but it's not. I hate to say it but I had a massive breakdown over this on Tuesday when it hit me. Even before starting it, I'd already put in a few years of notes, research and ideas for videos... put so much time and effort into it and to just not see it grow and come to fruition just mentally drains me.

So again, thank you SO much for your bumps to my threads each time, I just don't think there's any point in bumping them up anymore to get more people to see it. I know how I'm going to look to some people reading this, but I'm at my absolute end of it. Needed to vent. I'm honestly choking up writing this, it meant that much to me.

If I were to make suggestions as you are trying to build a viewership:

2 minutes into the video, I wanted to click out because of the whining and self-pitying, however justified. Sorry dear, but it is a turn off.

The video is 1 hour and 30 minutes long. That is a LONG video and most people are going to be turned off by the prospect of being there for that long unless the content is super exciting. Until you are sure you can grab people's interest for that long, aim for much shorter videos.

Welcome people to your channel like you would welcome visitors to your home: Warmly and excitedly.

Get to the point. You go off on too many tangents. I had to wait until 5:43 mark for you to start on the subject. Maybe you need to write a script and just follow it to keep you on track.

lastly, approach this endeavor with optimism and equanimity. No one is owed success on Youtube. Think about delivering useful content. Do it because you love doing it, and let go of your expectations. If success comes, great. If it doesn't come, you should feel like you did something you loved anyway. That is what i have garnered from all the people who are successful on youtube.

So... again wow. I didn't think it would be perceived that way at all. I wanted to be honest and open towards everyone, and it was very liberating. Bummer I made it came off so badly.
With that particular vid I felt like I had to address having been away from the channel (and astro forums) for months.

I did edit some of the descriptions on older videos to something more neutral, so I get your point not going too far with it. I always loved making the videos, just everything after it quickly got too overwhelming.

Regarding the length, this is actually very much Youtube card/astro reading culture. People just click the time stamps and pick what they like, and skip over the rest.
Maybe could've made this more accessible for people outside of Yt, like continuing to mention the time stamps to make it look less overwhelming. With the crystals one maybe one sign at a time would've been better.

Re: script. I always have a notebook with at least one page of notes with me during the video. A full script is not my thing, when I tried it I thought it made me sound so unnatural.
Starting with the last vid, I have been trying a presentation style though. I'm way more of a spontaneous writer/talker, but that was my attempt at being more structured.

So this does give some food for thought. I sat on this for a few hours to make sure I'm open to hearing all of it. Thanks for the feedback again!

Thanks for getting back to me, and explaining where you are. It makes things clearer.

I never know how my "constructive" insights will be received. I put constructive in brackets because of course, it is entirely subjective.
