Maybe somebody has this discussions, I have gone through most of my old yearly solar return charts, have found using birth place mostly making sense, except a couple of years. Using the location where I was at the solar return time only makes better sense in some years. What is your input? Do you find solar return works for you at all? If so, which location do you use? I think the common opinion is to use birth place.Haven't looked into them that deeply but this year is a pretty big one for me. Most important transits to natal is Jupiter+Saturn both conjuncting MC. Their conjunction will also be on my MC. Lunar Eclipse will conjunct ASC, activating my mutable grand cross, and Solar Eclipse will conjunct Uranus sq chart ruler Mercury which is conjunct tr Neptune. In SR-chart Uranus conjuncts MC exact, trine Mars sextile Sun. Ura/MC conjunct natal NN with orb of 1. I have been working non-stop toward my MA examination in Fine Art. The above mentioned transits will happen right after. Lunar eclipse is on the day I am finished exactly. The event-chart for the examination also has MC exactly conjunct natal Uranus. So SR seems to fit. IP: Logged |

thanks for sharing, good luck with your exams! I am wondering as long as relocation astrology works, a solar return with a different location than birth place should at least work at certain degrees? Maybe adding 10-20%?Next year I have a big project plan (career) to finish, both transit and second prog. look really good, even zodiacal releasing from LOS looks good, but solar return looks all planets at the bottom of the chart, I am quite discouraged and now debating with myself, if a new location on birthday would change that, or I should cancel the plan since this project needs a lot of sacrifice and tough tough work... I also wonder how much does solar return chart matter... IP: Logged |

Current location works for me when calculating SR charts. Do you consider your SR Ascendant to which house it seems to fall in your natal chart? E.g your SR ascendant is in scorpio, in natal chart your 5th house in scorpio. Do you observe 5th house activities that year? IP: Logged |

Solar returns are transits, as all returns are. The idea of the solar return chart is that you're trying to make a locality based transit chart timed precisely to the moment just as a birth chart is. That means you must use your current location of residence to have any hope of that. (This is done only with transits, not progressions.)However, I discourage the practice of annual solar return charts and recommend you read this article: http://kannonmcafee.wordpress.com/2019/09/14/the-solar-return/ ------------------ Soul Stars Astrology by The Declinations Guy: Expert birth chart rectification IP: Logged |

I use the area in which I live, for solar returns. IP: Logged |

The 'professionals' use the place where 'your body' was located WHILE you experienced the moment of your 'Sun conjunct Sun' transit, aka your Solar Return. - http://www.bobmarksastrologer.com/19.1Birthdays.htm A 'relocation' chart is different from your birth chart. Astrodienst www.astro.com has selection you can choose to find out how moving to different cities can change your chart energies. Planets and aspects will stay the same as your natal, but the houses and cusps can change. The houses of a chart describe 'the issues/areas of life'. As you travel, changes occur to ASC/Desc, MC/ic, and Part.of.Fortune, and Vertex. Be sure to choose P.o.F and Vertex. Observe the changes. SR's are available at Astrodienst. You can cast a comparison chart. Your SR Chart planets and houses are shown outside the circle of your Natal chart. See their selections.
