For a while, I was thinking to myself that my Saturn Return must have been a doozy to have left me as exhausted as I am right now. Later on, it occurred to me that I didn't have "just" a Saturn transit because of how the planets are positioned in my chart.

According to the Bob Marks website, I have what is called a "see-saw" chart -- where a lot of planets are situated in a series of oppositions and conjunctions with each other. Saturn is part of my see-saw.

So, around the time when my Saturn return happened, I had the following transits in short order: (times are approximate)

Saturn opposite Venus (Dec 2016) (wide orb Natal)
Saturn opposite Mercury (Jan 2017) (wide orb Natal)
Saturn opposite Sun (Jan 2017) (NATAL)
Saturn conjunct Uranus (Dec 2017)
Saturn opposite Chiron (Dec 2017) (NATAL)
Saturn conjunct Saturn (<-- The Saturn Return itself) (Dec 2017)
Saturn opposite Moon (~Jan 2018) (NATAL)
Saturn conjunct Neptune (April 2018)

Maybe this series of transits back-to-back is part of the reason why I have had so many problems with my health recently, lol. I marked the transits that "re-ignited" a natal aspect in my chart.

In addition to all that, I also live with someone who had Pluto conjunctions to some of his personal natal planets recently. And that only added to it all lol.

I was thinking that my Saturn Return had been bad, when it wasn't the Return at all by itself. It was a lot of other astrological factors thrown in, too!

I was trying to pursue higher education at the time that the actual return happened. I ended up graduating, but it was a very difficult and trying time due to all the extroverting that going to college required. I also tend to be anxious, so all the stress I put myself through over the possibility of failing added to my difficulties.

I think it's sometimes good to see transits as gradual state changes instead of momentary events. But they can appear as both.

I started an economics degree in 2018. In what house is your Saturn?
It was busy that time for me too. I was working full time, going full time to college. I barely slept.

For me, Saturn is in 1st. College is pretty difficult in general primarily because of all the coming and going, from my perspective. Making it all online would put more focus on the pure academic side of college. But some things are not replaceable like lab experience if you're doing a science degree. I feel you on the barely slept part. I feel like calling myself retired these days lol. In my teens I had a series of Pluto transits that hit the same points as the Saturn ones I mentioned above, and I haven't really been the same since. I've just kept moving forward as best as I could. Now I'm just burned out.

I'm looking forward to some positive transits from Saturn and Jupiter when they go into the 3rd decan of Aquarius. Maybe something good will happen for once lol.

Go figure that my degree though hasn't been helpful in finding a job due to the burnout issue. I'm not really sure what I had in mind in going to college anyway. I often think to myself, "You probably don't really want to do anything THAT much." I just figured that going to college would be good for me and my opportunities, and I had a dream of leaving my hometown, so I went. Started in engineering, but that wasn't for me because of the math ultimately. Finished in literature. And these days I feel more interested in the visual arts. I guess that's my Neptune square MC speaking out. I've always felt adrift and confused and never able to latch onto anything long term. I've tried my best with whatever I knew at the time. I'm not sure how I could have expected more.

It might made you feel like that because of the other transits that were happening at that time.

I feel the same about that period. I was exhausted. Things have settled now and I'm not that busy like I was. I was doing too many things and I was sleeping 5 hours at night. I did many things, but I don't know if I made the right decisions.

I wanted to do literature, but it was too overwhelming the reading and the projects that I had to do. I had a long list of books to read every semester and I thought that I should have been already very well read before doing this. Even if I am read and pretty good at writing, the amount of work that I had to put into, felt impossible working too. I am kind of traumatized by that period.

Saturn Return can feel tough but it usually have good outcomes as Saturn makes one become serious and determine.

When I had mine, I was working and studying at the same time. It was tough straddling both and I was financially tight as my money went mostly into paying for my degree. I was also working long hours with a horrible boss. But it ended up positive as I later managed to move on to a better job with higher pay and my career soared from there for the next 10yrs. Met 2 bosses who groomed and promoted me to Managerial level functioning as deputy head.

I also cut off a relationship which has long expired. I was sad but this is a necessary thing. Started to focus more on myself thereafter and was travelling a lot.

@Andronas, I read in the other thread you have planets in 7th, so did you experience a lot of relationship challenges during that period? I don’t mean just romantic partner but generally with others.

Mine was the same way, he was terrorizing planets all over my chart. I have planets all throughout Sagittarius including Saturn. Mercury, then Saturn then Uranus & my Sun. My Saturn conjuncts all 4. My poor Moon/Chiron conjunction is opposite My Sun/Ur/Saturn in Gemini 12th house. Then let's not forget the square it forms with my Jupiter/Mars(9th)/Midheaven in pisces.

It was quite the doozy and that is putting it nicely. Man Saturn kicked my asssss. When Saturn left Sagittarius in 12/17 exactly 2 years after it started, I think I cried with joy. But honestly, it was the most defining point in my life, it changed me at my very core and I prefer this person to the 2015 and earlier models. I can't even relate to her anymore. But dam, you couldn't pay me to do that again even if I could. (Well until about 60) I think I learned my lesson the 1st time though. Saturn has become my absolute favorite planet too. There is a huge amount of respect in what he is capable of, I just listen to the arsehull these days. (Wait..isn't Uranus the arsehole?)

Most charts aren't set up in such a way as ours are so SR are typically less aggressive than ours. Still though, nobody comes out the same person on the other side. Even if the effects are very subtle.

Hmm. Well in college I had more opportunities to meet new people. And I did. Jupiter was at play during that time too, somewhere around my 10th house I think. So there's always a mix of influences, never just one thing or another. Saturn doesn't exist in space by itself. Which is a good thing by the way.

I've never been that close to anyone, and I've always had trouble forming relationships. I explain that by saying that I was born in the wrong geographic location and social class for what my personal interests turned out to be. If I'd had libreal or hip parents and grew up in some place like San Francisco, I'm sure my experience would have been different. I checked my Greek/Arabic lots, and my lot of fortune is in Capricorn while my lot of spirit is in Sagittarius. Maybe that explains it astrologically.

I depend on the internet for social interaction. The web is the only outlet I have really. I did have a period years ago where I was social with people I'd met locally, but all the people I had gotten to know were really very selfish and interested in using me. I've always been fairly easy to take advantage of. And this is the kind of area where there are likely lots of people willing to do so.

So in general, no I didn't have any specific problems with close relationships. Really until around 2018 when I was forced to come back home to live with and deal with relatives who happen to also be neighbors....
