My boyfriend and I have double whammies on our synastry chart like Venus opposite Pluto/Venus sextile Pluto and Venus square Mars/Venus trine Mars, ascendant opposite ascendant, Venus conjunct Neptune/Venus trine Neptune so I was wondering do those energies balance each out or does one person just feel more strongly?

I think it depends on your own chart and how you react in general to planets in those aspects.
If Venus doesn't tolerate the opposition of Pluto (or any other aspect from Pluto), DW will most likely be a source of irritation for Venus owner, regardless of Venus Pluto sextile. You have to look at all the other aspects and how they relate to each other.

The simple answer would be yes to all - some DWs will be mutualy felt, some will be felt only by you or not at all, the ones they might enjoy could irrate you, some might serve as enhancers to other DWs, or as dampeners. It depends.
