I don't often focus a lot on Signs, because I see them over focused on by the mainstream and majority, but here is an interesting pattern that is not often talked about.

Edgar Cayce's guidance indicated that the parts of the body that the Signs rule/correspond hold a lot of clues to the deeper nature of their activity i.e. that there was a parallel.

Taurus corresponds to the throat primarily, and is ruled by Venus a feminine/yin, and artistic, creative, musical oriented symbol. The throat of course relates to communication. But we don't often think of Taurus in relation to "communication" (we often think of symbols like Mercury or Air Signs). And yet, so often, Taurus is moderately to strongly highlighted in the charts of well known to talented singers.

Singing of course is a form of powerful communication, a more "right brain" type communication. And there are examples of other kinds of that kind of Yin/feminine communication from Taurus.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr seems to have had Taurus ASC, with Taurus Jupiter relatively near his ASC, and Taurus NN in his 1st House. It does fits his looks. He was 5'7" and had a somewhat thick and powerful build (though his ASC ruler being in Pisces damped that down/counter balanced that a bit). I happen to think that his ASC was a bit earlier, by a couple to few degrees or so. Not close enough to indicate a strong altering of the Taurus physical archetype towards Jupiter, but indicating that Jupiter was powerful in his consciousness and psyche, if not Jupitarian by looks/body. (If his ASC was closely conjunct Jupiter, it would have corresponded with a much larger and taller body than he had).

Also, we see the Sun as extremely powerful, and a symbol he was meant to move more and more towards as he followed his path of service to society (MC/10th House, and one can argue that he did increasingly become Solar attuned towards the end of his material life). But I want to focus on the combo of powerful Taurus and Jupiter in this chart.

As we all know, Dr. King was a powerful orator, and often spoke to deep social and spiritual truths. When he spoke, one could feel and sense the Divine being channeled through him powerfully. Besides what he spoke of and to, he just had a powerful, resonant, and yet soothing and pleasant voice in a physical sense.

If we combine Taurus as = right brain tipped communication (often expressed in singing/song, but not always), with Jupiter that of spiritual truths and also linked to knowledge and communication of a more expanded type (i.e. loose correlation to 9th House, etc), then we have a perfect example of someone who exemplified the combo of these to the nth extent.

This was one powerful, powerful voice and communicator in a very holistic sense.

So often we don't speak our truth, or the truth as we see it, because we are scared of being judged, criticized, or put down by others in some way. Social fear and being overly self conscious is one of the most common and pervasive fears among humans. Especially to think and speak differently than the majority and to be perceived as truly different is a big block and fear to many, many people. And so often, many go with more "safe" beliefs and perceptions, unconsciously trying to fit in as to not rock any societal boats. Safety in numbers. It is hard to truly stand on one's own, apart from the masses or group.

But this world, this humanity desperately needs truth tellers, and Dr. King played an important role in that. There are some indications and circumstantial evidence that he was not actually killed by some lone, crazy white supremacist (James Earl Ray was indeed involved, but not the only one), but the assassination was set up by some folks well connected to the CIA and higher power structures, like Dulles, and not because of Civil Rights and that movement, but because of his speaking out against the Vietnam war.

Civil rights is one thing, but being a powerful voice speaking out against a war that some groups and corporations were making obscene profits off of? That's when corrupt forces and individuals really "draw the line", when it comes to potentially affecting their wallet and power. But not the time and place to get into the details of how the mainstream, "official" account has a number of holes.

Anyways, communication is highlighted in other ways in this chart, for example, Aqua Mercury in 10th, ASC/"chart ruler" Venus in Pisces in the 11th (channel of the group, and the higher collective in general), etc. But, I wanted to highlight Taurus and focus in a little understood and talked about archetype/pattern of this Sign and how much it does actually relate to communication. But again, it is not a left brain, intellect, and "words" alone type communication. But a more Feminine/Yin and "right brain" type of communication that speaks more to either the gut, the heart, or (if Jupiter is powerfully involved), the pineal gland of spiritual truths and perceptions as was the case for Dr. King, who had a very powerful focus on a combo of Taurus and Jupiter.

And sometimes Taurus communicates by not speaking via words, which is the ultimate form of Yin communication. Sometimes it overly holds in.

Btw, this is what King presciently said not long before he was murdered:

quote:
And then I got to Memphis. And some began to say the threats, or talk about the threats that were out. What would happen to me from some of our sick white brothers? Well, I don't know what will happen now. We've got some difficult days ahead. But it doesn't matter with me now. Because I've been to the mountaintop. And I don't mind. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land. So I'm happy, tonight. I'm not worried about anything. I'm not fearing any man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.[241]

On some level he knew what the probable future was.

I could not post his chart... but do you think Muhammad Ali might be an example of Taurus as a communicator, in the context of "a voice which influenced the evolution of humankind".

"Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee ... and leave behind a message that lives on after me."

Quite possibly. I don't know as much about Ali as about King though. I have wondered how much of his protesting of Vietnam was purely ideological (and moral high ground) and how much was of a self preservation kind of thing. I honestly don't know either way.

In any case, King strikes me as having been more spiritually and Love attuned all in all.

But certainly Ali did have a powerful voice in his own way and used it. And he does have pretty highlighted Taurus, especially in a public sense. (Taurus MC, with Taurus Saturn Uranus conjunction in the 10th with Venus in Aquarius closely conjunct the DESC).

Since he was a black American, born in 1942 Louisville ... I see his evolutionary contribution as becoming the most recognised face+voice on the planet, and in the high-profile/visibility of his "colour-free" relationships with Angelo Dundee + prominent white non-Americans throughout the world.

In effect ... he was a black person who (just by being himself) demonstrated the fallacy of the term "white supremacy".
