What would be more significant?

Someone’s sun, merc, and Venus in your 7th house, all trine your own sun

Or someone’s sun, Uranus, in 7th, with Jupiter and neptune in 6th conjunct DSC, all square your sun?

What would make for a more significant/long-term relationship?

And what about nodes in someone’s 7th house?

Significant may not be quite the right word here ... since both sets of indicators would be equally significant/important and/or influential, but I suspect that the second (with Uranus) would be felt more strongly - because of the square to the partner's sun.

The trine would also make it easier (and thus, more likely) than the square for the two people to stay together - but the lessons of the second set would impact at a deeper level than those of the first, because they are being delivered by slow-moving generational and evolutionary planets rather than fast-moving personal planets.

If the north node of partner A is in the 7th house of partner B, person B will help person A to achieve his/her natal North Node objective/"promise". ... With the south node in that same location, person B will encourage Person A to stay within his/her comfort zone (of existing south node skills).

Thank you both.

Do 7th house overlays usually indicate marriage or a significant relationship?

Overlays are much more subtle than aspects. Think of a song with a background singer like one of Eric Clapton's songs. The background singers would be the overlay. He, as the main singer, would be the planetary aspects.

So if there are a lot of hard aspects, but also a few 7th house overlays, would the hard aspects usually win out? Or would the 7th house overlay create a feeling/familiarity between the two people that sort of pushed the “difficulties” aside?

And what about 5th house overlays for marriage?
