I had an astrologer predict my estranged mother may pass away this Spring--or decide for herself to make a change in lifestyle.

I just recently learned on Wed she has 5 blood clots in her heart and is going to do a bypass heart surgery.

The transit that is of concern is tPluto over her Sun and possibly the IC (I don't know her exact birth time).

Can someone tell me more about Pluto transiting over the natal Sun?

You said 'estranged' mother...
You must still have some feelings for her, otherwise, this wouldn't have upset you?

If she lived or died,
is there anything inside you that you would have wanted to say to her, or to happen physically, as far as the 'estranged-relationship' is concerned?

It's mothers day weekend (in USA).
Would sending her a card, or flowers, or a call to say you still care, count for anything?

Many COVID-19 deaths have happened over this past year. More deaths are coming, due to variant strains.
{I understand your Mother's Death is not a result of COVID, unless the blood-clots formed were somewhat related TO it.}

in about a year from the death, the 'loved ones' who are left-behind will stand to receive their Beloved's Inheritance, in around a year or more, after it goes through Legalities in the Probate Court.

Look at your chart's legal houses, and 8th house transits.
Jupiter is often involved in Deaths.
Also, in some families, certain 'planets'/asteroids run as indicators for death transits. Check past deaths, funerals, to find 'which' of those have been active, in your family's charts.

Throughout my lifetime, my own family death charts (and my transits) involved Venus, and Chiron.
