I was wondering if anyone could help figure out what Anne Rice's rising is? I mention Kannon as well since I know he's talented when it comes to chart corrections. (everyone welcome to guess, I just wanted his attention ^^)Oct 4th 1941 in New Orleans. Here's an interview with her: http://youtu.be/ZQXSrgCTGAE?t=19 And here is another interview with a more disappointing interviewer -_-: http://youtu.be/0wUZtgjIzaI?t=2 At a glance one might think scorpio rising, but I'm not sold on it yet. Her life and all the subjects she deals in are heavily plutonic and scorpionic but idk if it's her ascendant yet... What we know of her is that her daughter died as a child, at 4 or 5 years of age, from some kind of cancer. And eventually, years later, her husband died of cancer as well. Her mother died, as well. She has had to experience a lot of death and grief in her life. Watching this interview, I've found she is ahead of her time - she is so intelligent, so well-spoken, so educated and the interviewers she has to deal with sound like they have a one-digit IQ. And one of the interviewers above, I found him rude and overstepping his bounds, but she handles it with grace. She is deeply interested in religion, philosophy and has studied them diligently. She's well versed in history, and claims she uses her books as a medium to deliver certain religious information in a more easy-to-understand form in fantasy novels. She's also super educated on war, on poverty, she's aware of what's going on in the middle east and pays avid attention to reality. She's admitted she's shocked and appalled at the state of the world in some places, and injustice makes her extremely upset. She doesn't seem like she dissociates from reality a lot as a coping mechanism. She seems like someone who faces the world head-on. In short and simple terms, I've found she is the novelist version of a rockstar who, in a 'goth' manner, brings to light darker issues of the world and makes people aware of their own inner shadows and the evils and corruption of society. Hope that info helps in discerning her chart.

Thanks for asking. What I'd do is ask her on twitter if she knows her birth time and what it is.------------------ Soul Stars Astrology by The Declinations Guy: Expert birth chart rectification IP: Logged |

Yeah, she is a pretty challenging case to work out, so maybe the only way to know would be to ask her personally. I figure some influences from Neptune/ Pisces or Virgo could be working to make her so enigmatic and elusive. TY for checking IP: Logged |

I took a guess (based off of life events read about on Wiki) that Asc is in 26deg Cap and the Ic at 13 deg Tau. That is if New Orleans, Louisiana is her place of birth. It would be interesting to see how way off I am 😂😂. IP: Logged |

Aww, A+ for effort. I tried her on twitter but she ignored me xD 🥺 Why'd you choose this rising btw? What sticks out? Oh but I do notice that if I give her cap rising, it puts her Jupiter in the 5th house. IDK it seems too cheery a placement for what happened to her daughter. But it does make aspects to 8th house placements so I am torn... I'm just thinking out loud here 🤔🤔 IP: Logged |

Yeah, authors tend to not indulge us with those questions. I won't say all act "above it all". But I have seldom met an author who isn't a covert(sometimes overt) cynic. It was an amateur adhoc adjustment involving solar arc progressions to angles. At 15 her Mom died(of alcoholism)and she & her sister were sent to a convent school. She felt betrayed by her father and described the experience as depressive. That was 1956. Trans Nep 29 square natal Asc 26. Natal Sat Tau 28 conj prog IC 28 Tau. Then there was the time when her Father bought a home. And they moved homes. This was also when her Dad got married. This was 1958. Trans Ura 15 square Mc/IC-13 Sc Solar Arc Ura conj Mc Then her daughter died in Aug 5 1972 of a rare illness. What's more is that before that(1970), she had a premonition that her daughter would pass. 1970-Solar Arc Neptune 26 Lib square natal Asc 26 Cap 1972-Prog Asc 25 Sag square trans Plu Vir 25. Again, this was 5 minute guesswork. IP: Logged |

Fascinating. ^ @Amoranthaniela, I once was a huge fan of hers and admittedly have not read enough of her writing. She is intense, no doubt. Very effective at transmutation of heartbreak into a timeless string of stories to entertain many. I studied her some time back, here's a bit I think fits her imo -
I tried out drawing her chart for 2am birth. After looking at it, I realized she seemed obsessed over health due to her loss of Michele (her daughter). Virgo asc fits that well and her teeth to me seemed virgo- ish. In many instances I have noticed also that the vampire, dark hours really resonate with those born in the dark hours. I was born in the witching hour - I can verify to me it is noticed. As I've heard for others too.
Using the 3am hour, she would be Asc in first decan Virgo. With her Sun(in Fall, a vampire love marking) in Libra. To examine closer, I used asteroids, decans and read some sabians.
Both Brad Pitt (his asteroid not far from her MC) and T. Cruise escalated her fame. She was well sold by her incredible talent in writing but the 2 stars brought her to a rather well known niche author-ess. NN in Virgo, no wonder why she writes a lot of health/blood centric stories. A mystic rectangle in houses 1,3, 7 and 9. (Virgo/Scorpio/Pisces/Taurus) Neptune/Venus/Moon (on her 8th cusp)/Saturn. Vladimir (Vlad *Tepes) cnj her Mercury - Chiron in 12th, I would think with a 1st/asc Virgo this makeup might create a medically obsessed person. Someone who might channel that into positive energy - just as she has. Sanguin 5081 on her MC (0) DNA 55555 in Virgo (4° cnj Asc) very tight cnj UL 3271 "rival of light", " Aqua 6th house "differnt, unique", in drac it is in her 12th . Newfang near her ASC 1.5° Claudia 311 in her 6th house The character in which she modeled from her lost daughter in the Lestat series. *Both Claudia&Michelle in Moon decans. Note~ Her daughter's asteroid name (4th house natal) , in her Comparison chart is on her drac MC& Sanguine. She took her family story, twisted it to create a story which was her career "writing". As well in her 10th, Jupiter, which can relate with blood. - More comparison, -- transits *1968 relating to her debut of short story creation of Lestat series (where we will meet Claudia *Michele) Tr Jupiter wide cnj neufang and her ASC Tr Claudia was cnj her natal Jupiter in 10th Tr UL, Moon, Saturn and Vampiluv in 8th Tr Sun, Mercury and DNA in 5th. Creative writing about dna "blood", death, immortality. Tr Sanguine cnj Mercury +Vladimir in 3rd (writing) - in scorpio, death/transformation house Tr Vlad in her 2nd (values), within Jupiter decan 1976 transits (the novel release) Tr Neptune cnj Michelle in 4th. She created the version of her RL daughter in a fantasy story. Immortalised her daughter as Claudia. Tr Pluto cnj Sun Idk the dates of publish aside from year, Vampiluv may have been on her Asc&Neufang I won't dig too much more but to me she seems Virgo 1st decan ascending. http://darkstarastrology.com/virgo-decan-1/ " These seers usually develop their sensitivity after a period of suffering, dutiful caring and even after a broken heart." PS - pls be open to the asteroids. They are like alternative colors of paint in a palate of paints. Always nice to have different hues to apply to the canvas.

@Moon That seems pretty darn well thought out, and could quite possibly be true. And you and Aries both feel she has an earth rising, which I agree fits her very well tbh. 😃 👌 And I am more than open to asteroids. I found that some people that I love actually had their names in my first house and descendant. I think of asteroids as sprinkles on a cake. They count for something for sure!

After seeing that she died just a few days ago, I think Asc in late Capricorn in plausible. I just don't know enough about her, as I've never read her books. My wife has though, so I may ask for her input. However, she was a bit of two minds (suggesting significant mutability in some form). She described herself as rather conservative, yet she was clearly a feminist whose thinking on social/political issues backed that up. Moon was in early Pisces (Leo rising) early in the 24-hour period of her birth. So you could first determine if she's really a Moon-in-Aries personality to eliminate that — or to narrow it down to that possibility. More on the changeability/two-minds factors. She was brought up Catholic, then was atheist for quite a while, then was Christian again (even authoring Christian fiction), then left the church again to be a Christ-centered secular humanist. To me this reeks of mutability of a more outspoken kind (Gemini/Sag), which does not show in her chart, except with Jupiter in Gemini. That placement's declination (22.5° north) could be parallel Asc in Capricorn (23° ... 21° south). ------------------ The Declinations Guy | Expert Birth Chart Rectification Join me at Health Positive! my newsletter on substack: http://healthpositive.substack.com/ IP: Logged | |
