Is this placement similar to having Sun in Scorpio?

I’ve heard this a bunch of times that Pluto in the 5th house gives off “Scorpio vibes” especially if it makes a trine to the Ascdeant.

I'm not sure if it's the same as Scorpio Sun but I can get obsessed with my partners especially in the initial phase. I'm also possessive and jealous. Death and transformation through relationships is also part of my DNA.

I have Pluto in 5H trine ASC, quincunx Sun.

I agree with @Hikaru29 - it's not the same as having the Sun in Scorpio. I can totally see why you would feel that way since the 5th house is ruled by Leo.

What I feel this placement lends to is a Scorpionic-Plutonian energy and presence in playing games, interacting with children, and dating. It adds a seriousness and intensity to this sphere of life. You might even find some people who have an artistic bent creating very Scorpionic-Plutonian pieces, like artwork about the underworld or death or sex.

Depending on the other planets in this house and the 5th house ruler, I also feel that this placement can lend to not wanting children. There's a kind of wasteland energy that comes with Pluto. Nothing 'grows' easily down there. It's even possible that creative expression most easily occurs when there is a crisis either preceding it or driving it forward.

I definitely feel a depth and even a potential for obsession with this placement, but it doesn't necessarily indicate stalking or anything unhealthy, either. You just want to merge intensely and quickly with the person you're dating, whereas dating is usually thought of as a more playful and lighthearted thing by most. The Pluto 5H person is frustrated by the superficiality and niceties of dating. They also - whether they admit it or not - really need good sex to feel connected with the person they're dating whereas some people aren't quite as into that.

The best planetary match for someone with this placement is probably Venus in Scorpio.

I understand what you are saying thank you for your input that all makes sense. I didn't know that was the case about might not wanting to have children. What about someone with Venus in the 8th house? Would that be a good match?

And I’m saying I don’t feel like a Scorpio Sun. I’ve a good friend who’s a Scorpio Sun and I don’t feel like we behave similarly in love.

I wasn't saying that it's the same as having a Scorpio Sun lol. Does your partner have Venus in Scorpio?

You mentioned that you can be obsessed and that you are possessive and jealous. This sounds like Scorpio traits to me but maybe I misunderstood. I wasn't implying that this placement is the same as having a Scorpio Sun that the person would love like a Scorpio. Only that I've read that the people who have this are similar. This means may have some of the qualities but not exactly the same.

But it's probably different for everyone though.

Yep! I'm glad it helps.

I would also say any Saturn signature (like Saturn square the ruler of the 5H or Saturn in the 5H) could also point to not wanting kids. I have met several strictly Pluto 5H people who did not want kids. I think it depends on a lot of factors, but I can see the annihilation side of Pluto causing some issues here, in that regard. Maybe even the death of a child? (Depressing, sorry. Lol...)

Any planet that falls in the 8H will be hidden by the native, intentionally vs. the lack of awareness and out-of-reach feeling that comes with a 12H planet. Therefore, someone with an 8H Venus may exhibit the same traits as ViS, such as hiding the intensity of their romantic feelings due to trust issues, etc. But their Venus sign also matters and will influence how their energy plays out.

You asked: "Is this placement similar to having Sun in Scorpio?", that's why I replied the way I did. If you're not insinuating that then I'm not sure why you asked that qn in the first place. It was confusing to me.

Anyway nope, my partner does not have Scorpio Venus. My first bf has this placement and it sucks. Clash with my Gemini Venus. I've Pluto in Libra so air/fire Venus are best matches with both my Pluto & Venus. If you have a Scorpio Pluto in 5H then yes, it will be super hot with a Scorpio Venus.

Yes I understand what you’re saying. I asked this because I’ve watched YouTube videos about people comparing Pluto in the fifth house with Scorpio Sun. I guess some people think the two is basically the same.

I think it really depends on your Venus sign. The guy who’s Pluto square my Moon has Pluto in the 5th house. But he has no Scorpio in his chart besides that. I have Pluto in Scorpio in the 3rd house. And I think Scorpio Venus are too much for me. Even with me having Venus in the 8th house. I bet your Venus probably conjuncts my Mars lol.

Hmm I've never heard that before 🤔 but it makes a lot of sense.

I've always considered myself more plutonic than most. Makes socializing a little difficult. Idk..maybe I am too intense or detached or both.

I have pluto conjunct venus in Scorpio 5th house. Which trines my jupiter & Mars conjunction in 9th house pisces & then completing the grand trine with ascendant in cancer.

I think it might be similar to the Mars in 5th. Pretty highly aroused, boundaries could be blurred. Attitudes could erupt if the needs aren't met. There may be a kinky side to this person. In terms of normie life, it could be the fun pastimes are rather risky. Even dangerous activities for fun.

This type person might enjoy anything anything in a cemetery.

The 5H represents creative pursuits, hobbies/interests, romance, children... Pluto being placed here will make one passionate/intense, obsessed, fixated with these areas. People with this placement is likely to attract lovers with some strong Pluto in their chart. My 1st bf has Scorpio Venus + Pluto sextile Sun (he may also have a Scorpio ASC); 2nd bf has Pluto square Sun, sextile Moon (not sure of his ASC); current bf has Pluto conjunct Moon, square Mars.

I understand why people say it's similar to having a Scorpio Sun but to me there's still some differences. It also depends where their Sun is placed and how it's aspected. It shows where their energies are focused on, where they can be fixated. Also I personally find Scorpio Sun natives to have more staying power than 5H Pluto natives. The latter seemed to have less tolerance for infidelity. Yeah I know it sounds funny because we all know Scorpios hate cheaters. But in reality I know Scorpio women who stayed on with their cheating partners. In comparison, 5H Pluto natives may be faster at cutting off because they almost don't give their partners a chance to explain, lol. But because the betrayal feels so painful to them, they will psychologically burn away all feelings & memories like the other party never existed. Not saying Scorpios won't do that but it may take them longer to reach that point due to their tremendous staying power.

My Venus is at 17° Gemini.
