Yes to livable wages! Yes to PTO, sick days, maternity leave/paternity leave for all. Are there really people who are less than deserving of these?
Leave it up to companies, plenty of places choose minimum wage pay, no paid PTO, paid sick days. Only 2 weeks vacation for the whole year I know was standard for even more cushy jobs where I live not that long ago. I got offered a position at a day care full time back in 2016. My first year they only wanted to give me paid holidays. My second year I would get a week paid vacation, and my third year something like 2 weeks pto. Pretty bogus. That why I chose to work in a school setting.

Leaving it up to companies/businesses so many choose greed. Does the government really need to get more involved to make companies businesses to be nicer to people?

I feel like it is starting to finally bite companies in the arse who chose to pay people the lowest wages, think their staff or certain staff members don't deserve certain benefits.

Like my millennial husband says if businesses have an issue paying their employees more due to the minimum wage going up, then they deserve to go out of business.

But I also think raising the minimum wage is pointless if prices on everything else go up too.

I am all for people advocating these things. When I was an assistant teacher I got nothing besides an hourly wage and a choice of overpriced health insurance, we were going to go to the board about saying that teacher assistants matter too and that we should have paid snow days like the teachers. But it never happened because we had a snow day the day there was the board meeting. Coincidence?

Its more complicated than that, when minimum wage goes up so does unemployment and the cost of living in general and is the small businesses that get hurt the most. If you don't want to get paid a certain amount then reject the job offer, don't force the entire world to pay a certain amount. Its ironic bc people end up requesting minimun wage to go up bc the cost of living is high but then than in turn makes the cost of living go up so is a vicious cycle. Go to trade school, get a degree, start your own business, earn that higher pay, you will feel very proud of yourself when you get to that point in your life but it won't fall on your lap.

In a nutshell when minimum wage goes up so does the cost of living which is the reason why people demand for minimum wage to go up in the first place so is counterproductive, there are better ways to reach financial stability in your life.

It's quite a popular trend with Millenials and GenX/Z. They are rebelling against the corporate culture that wants them to work very hard and long hours.

Would you attribute this new trend to Jupiter in Pisces or Jupiter in Aquarius? Or to something else?

Perhaps its all a part of the Pluto in Cap energy? I.e redefining what "work" or "career" means.

We know now that long hours at work does not necessarily mean "productive". That having a happy work life is important( its actually good for your health and mental well-being). And because a lot of us spend more time "making a living " than actual living, we should atleast find purpose and meaning in what we are doing etc.
