Topic: Using 12 house system to explain Leos and Sags being drawn to each other.

Leo rules the 5th house.Sagittarius rules the 9th house. If you are a Leo rising, what is the sign ruling your 5th house? Sagittarius. If you are a Sagittarius rising, what is the sign ruling your 9th house? Leo. As a Leo, if your chart is Leo heavy, you will be drawn to 5th house things. As a Sag, if your chart is Sag heavy, you get drawn to 9th house things. If your rising is that sign, then chances are, the respective sign will rule that house are you likely to be drawn to. Its like the house you are supposed to rule, if your rising sign is that given sign, is ruled by that specific sign instead. MY MIND IS BLOWN. IP: Logged |

Yes and no. In traditional astrology, no Sign "rules" a House, except the Sign that is found on the House cusp of an individual natal chart. And even then, it is the ruler of the Sign on the House cusp that is said to "rule" that House. There is a loose archetypal connection between the 12 Signs and the 12 Houses. But they are different symbols and focuses. Houses are areas of life. Signs are personality traits and earthly life patterns. It is more accurate to say that a person will be drawn most to the House(s) where they have the Sun, their chart ruler, and/or a stellium of Planets located. Just because a person has very strong Leo, or very strong Sag, it does not automatically mean that the 5th or 9th Houses and the things and processes of those areas of life will be very highlighted in their life. There are plenty of Leo's out there for who creativity, children, romance, etc is not their primary focus in life and conversely higher education, philosophy, etc may not be the focus for someone with strong Sag. But someone with highlighted Leo AND a highlighted 5th House will be especially drawn to those things and processes. IP: Logged |

It's an interesting theory, but if you expand this to the other zodiac signs we all would be extremely attracted to Fire and Air signs. Aries-Libra to Aries, Taurus-Scorpio to Gemini, Gemini-Sagittarius to Leo, Cancer-Capricorn to Libra, Leo-Aquarius to Sagittarius and Virgo-Pisces to Aquarius. Now the Fire and Air signs can be very charming but I think this theory gives them way more appeal than deserved.  As far as I know, it's not so much the Sun sign that is most important in attraction but the ASC-DSC axis and their Rulers. The ASC-DSC axis is the fastest moving placement and the most personal one. However finding your exact birth time can be difficult, so I understand the appeal of a Sun sign based theory of attraction. But I have to agree with GalacticCoreExplosion that attraction between two people is more personal and complex than that. IP: Logged |

Oh that is interesting. I have a packed 5th house + Leo rising... would definitely say I am more drawn to higher education + philosophy than creative arts + children. IP: Logged | |
