Hi, very curious to collect data here... a few questions:

1. What is your North Node sign and house?
2. Aspects to North/South Nodes and/or their rulers you feel are significant to you?
3. How have you seen your nodal path manifest in your life?
4. Any specific events around nodal returns/oppositions/squares? (Here is a guide - https://www.tdjacobs.com/2018/07/22/nodal-returns-squares-and-reverse-returns/)

I know some or all of this has been asked before but I'm looking for new reflections and seeing everything all together.

happy evolving

This is an excellent topic and you are asking all the right questions. Everyone should reflect on this, I have already reflected on everything you asked and it was super interesting to see clearly how my nodes have manifested for me.

I have northnode in gemini in the 6th
Mercury ruling my northnode, chiron and DC in virgo retro falling in the 9th squaring my nodes and opposing my moon in the 3rd house. I also have chiron in gemini in the 6th.

I am mental health counselor, well Licensed Professional Counselor.

I wonder when do NN becomes activated

After my saturn return, I could feel my need to activate my NN in Aries and in 11th House more and more... The need to drive towards a social purpose, even at the expense of losing everything else.

Its an extreme Aries energy, but it has to be done.

I'm now working towards being a qualified Social Worker.

When I was younger, I couldn't be more SN in Libra which conjunct my Sun. (codependent, self denial, toxic optimistic etc...)

Well Libra (the scales) certainly cares about justice but they also tend to be great at seeing both sides, southnode in libra is going to help keep your northnode in aries in check so it doesn't resort to violence to create social change or bring "justice" as self righteous anger is addicting and can make someone act rashly and blindly, so you can end up doing something wrong in the name of justice and then when more information comes out it turns out the story was fake anyways or misrepresented somehow, so gotta keep your head cool.

Is important both energies work together and keep each other in check, that is what is so cool about the nodes, is about balance, you are integrating the north-node more to bring something to balance but going full north-node and suppressing your south-node is not the objective either.

I’ve NN in Sagittarius conjunct DSC. It’s a difficult placement with a lot of lessons in relationships.

I’ve recorded the events that took place during nodal return/square/opposite: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/242981.html

Hi sashavittoria, what a good idea to start a topic about the North Node! Here is my input:

1. What is your North Node sign and house?
My North Node is 13Scorpio in H2.

2. Aspects to North/South Nodes and/or their rulers you feel are significant to you?
My H2-H8 axis is very prominent in my natal chart. I have a Taurus stellium in H8 with Sun, South Node, Jupiter and Venus (my Pallas and Vesta are also part of this stellium). My Jupiter 10Taurus and Pallas 14Taurus are conjunct my South Node 13Taurus. Taurus is known to be a materialistic sign, but I feel personal growth and wisdom are much more valuable. When things get difficult I know I can always fall back on my intelligence.
My North Node is trine my Midheaven. I feel that my career path has never been a struggle. I sometimes had doubts about my abilities but the path has always been clear to me. Job opportunities have come easy to me. My career helps me to feel like I make a valuable contribution to society (I work for the government) and has pushed me to grow in many ways.

3. How have you seen your nodal path manifest in your life?
As far as I can tell my nodal path has to do with me finding self worth independent of how others see me. I find this difficult because my natural tendencies are to mirror myself to others (Libra ASC) and I have a strong need to be of service to others (Virgo Moon). When I feel other people do not appreciate my efforts, I can get very insecure and can feel rejected. This will eventually cause me to withdraw into my own internal safe space.

4. Any specific events around nodal returns/oppositions/squares? (Here is a guide - https://www.tdjacobs.com/2018/07/22/nodal-returns-squares-and-reverse-returns/)
I am relatively new to astrology, so I have not yet done a lot of research on my nodal returns. But I did have a transit Saturn square nodes recently (Saturn is now retrograde) and I feel it has to do with my divorce. The last few years of my marriage eroded my feelings of self worth because I wasn't getting any positive feedback from my partner. I became more and more withdrawn and the situation really started to suck all the joy out of my life. The divorce is very sad, but I do feel it will bring me back on my path and will help me to value myself more.

1. What is your North Node sign and house?
2. Aspects to North/South Nodes and/or their rulers you feel are significant to you?

Libra north node in the 8th house, square mercury which is in Capricorn in the 11th house. Mercury is descendant ruler. Mercury is trine my ascendant as well, conjunct Uranus and Neptune which just happens to be my chart ruler. Mercury's also square chiron. Which is in libra in the 8th as well.

3. How have you seen your nodal path manifest in your life?

To be honest I've spent a lot of time thinking that my North node is in the 7th house. Because I've been using tropical signs, but in whole signs it moves to the 8th house. I personally don't know which one is correct as far as the house placement goes, but libra has been a theme in my life.

My mother is a Libra Rising, and I've learned a lot from her when it comes to what not to do in relationships. She doesn't pick the best partners. I have a lot of issues with being solitary, I love being by myself to the point where I need to force myself to be around people. I've gotten better, but I still prefer to be independent. Especially when it comes to personal relationships, I'm far to scared to get caught in a toxic relationship and not be able to escape. I'd rather remain single then have that happen.

4. Any specific events around nodal returns/oppositions/squares? (Here is a guide -

I don't think so? But I don't have the best memory.

Lionness... there are no words that suffice, but here is a Spirit hug. Also, I don't know if it is any consolation or not, but I've had a lot of nonphysical oriented experiences, and a number with definite verification, and from that position of knowing-experience, I can say that your daughter is in a sense, very much still alive and that you WILL be reunited with her fully. Even now, when your body goes to sleep, you probably spend time in the nonphysical with each other.

What has been your specific North Node experience?

Rough man, rough. Having Virgo North Node in the 1st has been no joke.

(The ruler, Mercury is widely conjunct the Sun, the chart ruler with both in Capricorn, and Mercury is trine Mars Jupiter conjunction with about a half of degrees separation with Jupiter particularly. Both Mercury and Jupiter are very closely trine the MC and Chiron. Mercury also rules my 11th, 2nd, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. While it's been tough, I've also have received a lot of spiritual help, which I am very grateful for).

I should add I have mercury parallel pluto natally and mercury rules my DC and northnode and squares the nodes so that also highlights how since I was a teen I knew I wanted to be a therapist, pluto parallel my mercury with pluto in the 10th conjunct Saturn explains it too.

Brilliant, everyone! Keep 'em coming! And more details, please!

A followup question... When/why do you feel you started to "turn" more towards your NN? Like was there a specific point when it became clearer, easier, or just forced on you? Some I see have mentioned that. I have heard that Saturn Return can bring it on, but I also wonder about the nodal returns - but also transits by the rulers of the nodes. For instance, I imagine the Saturn Return is a significant bringer of nodal lessons if your NN is on the Capricorn/Cancer axis, no?

Also another question - Do you feel the placements/aspects of your personal planets help you toward your NN, or hold you back in the SN? I ask because I wonder why, if the soul chooses this specific chart, for some people their chart seems to make it "easier" to follow their nodal path (like lots of personal planets close to or in harmonious aspect to the NN) while others seem almost set up to struggle harder (like vice versa, or also in the case of my ex whose parents' Virgo moons were both conjunct his SN). (Nodal patterns in families are a whole other level of fascination!)

hypatia, Soulsjourney, Galactic - more details please! I'm so fascinated by your journeys.
Hikaru - thank you so much for the link, I can't wait to dig in and read. You always have such rich and deep contributions.
Asjah - thank you! I would compare your entire chart across the different house systems to decide... With those Mercury aspects, is communication a particular challenge and/or do you feel it hinders your nodal path?
PlutoWasHere - So interesting, thank you for your thoroughness. I am so interested especially in these cases where the nodes are "inverted" with the North Node in the house ruled by the South Node. I suspect in that case it is a more delicate dance. I have had some close friends with this kind of dynamic. Like Hypatia says, it is all about balance.
Lioness - I am incapable of comprehending such loss, truly. Galactic is absolutely right though... What is the sign of your NN?

sashavittoria---> yeah communication is definitely challenging for me. Usually my mouth can't keep up with my mind, or I have a hard time just making normal conversations with people. It's annoying to be honest, for some reason what I say is translated incorrectly somewhere along the line and people get confused. It doesn't help that my mercury is in retrograde in my natal chart. I've learned it's best to just be quiet many cases.

Hi sashavittoria, here's my input:

When/why do you feel you started to "turn" more towards your NN?

It started when I got my first real adult job after I received my university degree in January 2000. Transit Saturn conjunct my Jupiter 10Taurus when I graduated and conjunct my South Node 13Taurus when I was offered the job.

A year later, I bought my own home and finally moved out of my parents house with transit North Node conjunct Midheaven 12Cancer. It was a time were I really was able to build a life of my own. It was scary but I absolutely loved the freedom. I grew a lot in that time period and became so much more independent.

Do you feel the placements/aspects of your personal planets help you toward your NN, or hold you back in the SN?

I believe my Jupiter conjunct South Node in H8 has actually helped me with my North Node. Jupiter represents higher education and my profession involves governemnt finance (shared resources and taxes are very 8th House). To me my North Node represents my financial independence, building my own life and finding my own value and these are definitely linked to my career. Maybe this link is also very strong because I have Libra Rising and houses and signs are inverted.

Right now, I also feel I am moving more into my North Node again. Earlier this year transit North Node opposite my natal Neptune, approximately around this time I decided to address my marriage issues. End of July 2022, my North Node will be conjunct my natal Sun and late December 2022 my North Node will conjunct my natal South Node. In my progressed chart my North Node is almost conjunct my Ascendant. Around September 2023 they will be exactly conjunct.

I have a hard time separating the North Node in my chart by the Sign part of it, since I also have Jupiter, Mars, and Saturn in Virgo--where Saturn rules my Sun and Mercury Sign and co-rules my Venus and Desc.

Hence, Virgo themes in general are all pretty highlighted and in a complex/multifaceted way.

One way I can tell them apart though, is that my North Node is firmly within my 1st House, while the rest are more in the 2nd, though Jupiter is retrograding back into the first (and Jupiter is the Planet closest to the Asc).

In that sense, 1st House themes of gaining self independence, living a somewhat loner life (which neither Virgo nor Capricorn particularly counter balance at all), being drawn into facilitation, directive, or leader type positions, role, and/or patterns, developing boundaries with others, etc have been part of my path in major ways, beside the general focus of body health issues, focusing a lot on diet and health, learning how to better discern and discriminate, etc.

I don't think we can truly understand our North Node, without also understanding our South Node. With Pisces South Node in the 7th (and other supporting chart patterns), I came into this world with hyper empathy for others, a sacrificial bent, very imaginative, intuitive and psychic, very spiritually focused (and this manifested at young age), and with a strong desire to escape the humdrum and/or suffering of a harsh, slow vibratory, physical world and body.

(I also have a combo of rather highlighted Jupiter and Neptune, which combined with the angular Pisces SN, explains that growing up, in a lot of ways, I identified a lot more with Pisces than my Cap Sun. But over time, have become more Capricornian and Virgoian, particularly in the sense of becoming more pragmatic, practical, and logic oriented).

But for self, these were somewhat integrated from the beginning. It wasn't so much a radical shift as slightly swinging the pendulum from one side a bit more to the other. This is because one of Pisces rulers, Jupiter, is in Virgo, and Mercury the ruler of all that highlighted Virgo, is widely conjunct the chart ruler, the Sun. And the ruler of the Sun and Mercury, Saturn is also in Virgo (lol, though conjunct watery Moon which rules my 12th, so right back to a combo/blend of this axis).

Hence, fairly attuned to Virgo and Mercury simultaneously. So it has been more so honing and perfecting the balance and integration of these, and I was forced to focus on things like health because of health issues.

Surprisingly, though I have North Node in the 1st, and definitely had strong co-dependent tendencies (not helped by Libra Moon nor Venus in the 7th), I met my partner at a young age (21) and have been with her for the last 20 or so years. However, I met her after a string of brief, karmic, toxic, painful type romantic connections, and consciously took a year or so break to just work on and balance myself (because I had realized I had co-dependency issues). When I initially met her, it was the first time in my life where I experienced attraction and romantic feelings with someone (and made out with them), and was like, "I'm not going to try to get into a relationship with this person". But she ended up pursuing me, and the second time we met, I became psychically aware that we had a very powerful spiritual connection. Actually, my whole body like "vibrated" uncontrollably, like my nervous system was overwhelmed.

I knew exactly who she was to me, who I was to her, that we were meant to be together, that she would fall in love with me and I her, etc. It's funny but after a few months, I told her that I loved her. She was more cautious and standoffish and didn't say it back, but a few months later, we were laying together and right before she started to tell me that she was in love with me as well, I said, "I know." (She doesn't always like that I can read her so well and deeply, but for the most part, she does).

Anyways, we are twin souls. I guess I kind of had to make an exception for her.

1. What is your North Node sign and house?
Aquarius house 9

2. Aspects to North/South Nodes and/or their rulers you feel are significant to you?
Moon, Pluto, and Lilith Scorpio house 6 square N. node
Mercury Taurus house 12 squares N. node

Caffe astrology counts Mars Aquarius house 10 in conjunction to my N. node. For me personally I usually focus on aspects that are 5 degrees and under. My node and Mars are 9 degrees apart.

Node conjunct MC Aquarius house 10
Node trine ASC Gemini

So Uranus is the ruler. Uranus/Aquarius is one of the most active planets in my chart. House 9 rules Sagittarius. Sagittarius energy is something I am growing into, because I have Saturn in my 9th. Some things peak in high school and when it comes to Saturn it's where you peak in your late 20's and 30's.

3. How have you seen your nodal path manifest in your life?
I've changed my life calling plans. When I was real little I wanted to be a ballerina, artist, mom. Then I got the theater bug. I was super bent on making performing arts (mainly Broadway) from age 10-16. This makes so much sense with my Leo S. node and IC. Then I was kind of just didn't care, and just wanted to find myself. But I realized what I wanted to be a preschool teacher when I turned 20 and quit an entry level job post high school. I started working in the early childhood field but did not become the lead teacher until age 28.
Also husband is tempting me to quit my job and travel around with him for his job. While I meditate on this...I think it could be in the starts with my node being in house 9.
One of the coolest things I discovered with asteroid astrology is that asteroid Child is conjunct my N. node house 9. And I have my Associates in Early Childhood Education and Bachelors in Early Childhood studies.

4. Any specific events around nodal returns/oppositions/squares? (Here is a guide - https://www.tdjacobs.com/2018/07/22/nodal-returns-squares-and-reverse-returns/)

Neat link! Wow age 28 was a profound time. I had a plan to leave a job that was worse than hell and start working on my bachelors. I knew I had to get out of there by age 27 but it took me 10 months to get out of there and land my dream job.

Completely forgot to mention one of the other main patterns that relate to that innate balance and integration between Virgo/Mercury and Pisces/Jupiter/Neptune, is not just that Jupiter the faster moving ruler of the Pisces SN is in Virgo, but also trine Mercury its Sign ruler with about a half of degree of separation.

Both sides came fairly easy and automatically, but I was just a bit over polarized to the Jupiter/Pisces/Neptune side initially. Doesn't help that my chart ruler is the Sun, and is parallel and semi-sextile Neptune, and the ruler of my Cap Sun and Mercury and co-ruler of my Aqua Venus and Desc, Saturn, is widely square Neptune, and the ruler of my Libra Moon, 3rd, Pluto, and Taurus MC, Venus, is almost exactly sextile Neptune. Then the faster moving ruler of my Scorp IC, Mars, is conjunct Jupiter and widely square Neptune, and the modern ruler of IC, Pluto is very closely sextile Neptune.

I've almost reached the point where I've integrated and balanced Pisces/Jupiter/Neptune with Virgo/Mercury to like a "standing wave" condition. Except that they don't get canceled out like in a acoustic/sound vibrational standing wave, but merge into a higher form.

Hypatia's chart has a similar theme and repeating pattern too, I've noticed.

in my Natal both nodes square my AC.
That is it. NN Cnj Acrux (Astrology) and Apollo 1862

Parallel both asteroids Temple & Union.
Which my inner Temple is coming into harmony.

SN cnj Tutenchaman 4848. Some deep excavations are in need to recover anything which is needed from my previous times here.
I think I was put here to find my "temple and unite with it" heal and rediscover myself, my mission.
Healing is a large message in my chart, Apollo confirms it. Acrux in lighting the way to my healing of the psyche - through Astrology.

-
In my Prog NN in 2nd Pisces, Jupiter decan.
square  Mercury (aries),  trine Saturn (taurus)

- Saturn trine:  I'm  not finding any wealth. Pisces is very artistic, so a artistic ttpe wealth - maybe.  I suppose I'm  supposed to with it in H2 be humble. Jupiter should be blessing me. Though not so,  yet it could be worse. Saturn is bringing me practicality.  Making decisions that are more mindful.
-  The Mercury square is a challenge  voicing my opinions. At this time I try to share but with great frustration.  Much because we are in a hugely stressful era. I need to resist going to G.U too much. My communication is often not appreciated or I feel less eloquent to say what is needed said. Not self censoring myself, yet I see my ability in this area is weak so I need to limit my energy.

tr 5th house Gemini , Jupiter decan.
sextile  Sun (aries) , semisextile  Saturn,
trine Uranus (Libra), sextile  chiron(aries) , trine AC (aqua)
- My creativity has been bursting bright recently.  I enjoy it.
 Unpredictability,  open, evolving.
Answering a calling  with healing qualities, which I've been using when/where needed.

Through my life my temple was only partly open (inner awareness). I had abilities to understand but couldn't connect. I think my NN has lead me to the connection. Wrapped up like a mummy lost in the sands of time - I have discovered my temple! I am on a path to healing like chiron, I am wounded, in that I can understand pain, sorrow ... to help other's is becoming easier.

idk how to find my return of the Nodes. Do I use a date change in the transit setting?

My North Node is in the 12th House right on the Eagle Point. This is where I want to be. I am at peace here. It is one of those places in my "chart", or in my heart I would rather say, that I feel this vastness of love... I know exactly when this place in my heart started to shine clearly. It was in 2012. A landmark year I believe for the awakening of a vast majority of people around the world towards global unity and compassion.

NN is super important in natal and in synastry. In synastry, if someone has a "bad' asteroid conjunct your NN, you will have that as your LIFE theme. It it is Chiron, it is pain. If it is Nessus, it is abuse. If it is Sado, it is sadism. If it is Juno, it is love. If it is Ceres, it is love. I have a huge article on many, many of them but please pay attention to this in synastry,in particular, because you can choose here, unlike the natal.
