I’m curious to hear what your preferences are when it comes to fashion and how you think it may relate to your astrological placements?

Do you prefer higher end daily wear or rather affordable - and how do you define “higher end” or “affordable”? Also for this I’m mainly curious if you think your age plays a role? Like I find myself appreciating longer lasting clothes now (at 30) more than I did before.

What’s your style in general? Is it rather graphic-y in nature or is your focus more on the cut, structure and fixtures used? Are you into luxury brands or rather indie focused? Say budget wasn’t an issue.

Do you tend to focus on accessories and jewelry more than your actual clothes?

And what’s your rising, Venus and Moon sign? I’m curious if there’s some sort of recurring theme on signs and or placements related to it. Or if you think your style is your MC, what’s your MC? Or what’s the sign you feel represents your style most?

Is there a celebrity you feel represents your style the most?

And lastly, how do you view clothing in general? As a means to clothe yourself primarily or do you use it as a form of self expression?

Gemini Rising, Pisces Venus house 10, Scorpio Moon house 6

I don't shop as much as I use to. My closet is full. I keep my clothes as long as they fit and aren't holy and stained.

When I do shop, it's usually wherever I have a gift card to. Which is Amazon and Target.

Other places I have shopped in the last 2 years include:
Good Will
Tiger Milly
Ebay
Gap
Spanx
Local Boutiques
Macy's
Whole Foods
Nordstrom Rack

I don't have any issues with people having higher end stuff. But what I buy must always be affordable for me and in my budget.

I will have some name brand items with purses.

I'll get bored if I'm always dressed the same. Something that I find that describes my style sometimes is Office Punk https://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?rs=ac&len=2&q=office%20punk%20outfits&eq=office%20pun&etslf=10080&term_meta[]=office%7Cautocomplete%7C1&term_meta[]=punk%7Cautocomplete%7C1&t erm_meta[]=outfits%7Cautocomplete%7C1

I've gotten into prairie dresses a few years ago also. I like dressing feminine a majority of the time too. I teach five days a week most of the year.

I am pickier with jewelry. I like metals of silver, gold, white gold and gems.

I tracked what color I wore the most for a week and it was white.

My style is rather eclectic and eccentric.

I'm drawn to decadent materials like velvet, brocade, silk, fur... I buy a lot of clothing second hand because I certainly don't have a budget to match the luxurious materials. I also prefer second hand for all the weird and wonderful items I can find. I also like taking part in clothes swap events and the like. Just last week I scored a pristine fur coat, a chinese silk dress that fit me perfectly, and a weirdly wonderful patterned cropped blouse, all for free (pretty much).

I love patterns, especially more unconventional ones or mixed in unique ways. I have one staple outfit that combines a leopard coat (in green, mustard and black lol) with a zebra shirt dress (green and black), floral scarf (in autumnal shades of rust, brown, mustard) and rib knit green tights. For colors I'm drawn to warm, saturated and autumnal shades, like rust, mustard, olive, dusty pinks, warm browns...

When it comes to accessories I generally prefer big and bold handmade or second hand items. I have a collection of hand forged iron necklaces, another of handmade birch root items, one of Finnish brutalist bronze jewelry, and a lot of memento mori or otherwise vaguely macabre pieces. I also like buying locally produced jewelry as souvenirs when I travel. I'm not really into gold, silver or gems... I'd rather have something a bit more rustic.

Overall I'd say my aesthetic is a mix of refined and rustic, decadence and decay. I like when luxurious things have age and wear, when things just slightly clash, or contrast in a provoking way. I once named my aesthetic floral macabre, and that's a pretty good name for it, even if it is broader than that.

I blame most of the above on my 8th house Venus in Taurus. My Ascendant is in Libra. My Moon is in Virgo 12th. My Midheaven is in Cancer with Mercury and Mars tightly conjunct.

Another Libra Rising with a Taurus Venus in H8 but with a different style. I have a modern classic style. My colors are mostly black, light grey and shades of blue and green. I like to invest in a couple of basic quality pieces where a good fit really makes a difference. Like a leather jacket, a pair of jeans, a black pencil skirt and definitely a good bra. I'll add cheaper fashion items to make my wardrobe a bit edgier, like printed t-shirts or faux leather leggings. Good shoes are important to me as well. I would rather have three pair of good shoes than a closet full of shoes that are a pain to wear. Big fan of capsule wardrobes. Maybe my Virgo Moon plays a role here.

I mostly have silver and white gold accesories, like hoop earrings and a chunky chain necklace. Recently, I have added some gold plated jewelry. No big statement pieces, I like to keep my accesories classic as well.

I don't like bold prints, flowers and frilly stuff. But like Nadja, I absolutely love textures. Velvet, leather, suede and lace. Must be that Taurus Venus. I have my heart set on a kashmir sweater this autumn/winter season. I also love a good classic scent. Currently wearing Chanel No. 19 Poudre.

edit: @Nadja, I see that you also have a Virgo Moon and Cancer Mars. We have a lot of similarities in our birth charts! My Moon is in H11, my Mars is also in H10 but conjunct Saturn. My Mercury is in Gemini cusping H9. My Venus is strongly aspected. It's conjunct Jupiter, trine Moon and opposite Uranus.

Don't really have one, meaning I don't care much at all. If I care at all, it's about practical, pragmatic things, like cost, comfortability, durability, eco/environmental considerations, and does it match the environmental conditions. Not so much about how I look, though once in awhile I will care a little (I attribute that to Leo Rising).

Generally I buy clothes used or on clearance.

I will pay more for specialty clothing as I'm into hiking/backpacking, and I've learned that some types of clothes will keep you warmer or cooler and/or more comfortable in nasty outside conditions. But I will also make my own if I can't find more affordable versions. For example, I made a unique WPB (waterproof breathable) poncho out of a combo of not very waterproof and needle punctured silnylon fabric (ran it under my sewing machine folded up and without being threaded), combined with "kite tyvek" fabric underneath. It is far more breathable than most WPB garments out there (both from the fabric and from the breathability of being a poncho), and yet protected enough from the rain. It is also super light at about 5 oz, but pretty durable as the silnylon fabric is on the outside.

(It might not seem like it, but combining those two fabrics together in that manner, was a bit of a stroke of genius as it solved a number of logistical problems that outdoor manufacturers have been trying to solve in relation to waterproof breathable technology. These tend to not be all that truly "breathable", nor long lasting in their effectiveness. For example, many use a very light DWR ("durable" water repellent coating) that comes off fairly quickly from heavy rain, rubbing up against other things, etc).

I'm big into baselayers that put space in between your skin and the fabric, whether that is fishnet or raised, isolated fleece patches, especially for colder weather.

I'm also preparing to some extent for the collapse I've been shown is coming, so I've given a lot of thought into clothes that will be the most durable, lightest, won't smell as much, dry relatively fast, warmest for the weight, coolest for the weight, etc. For hot conditions, I've found that nylon-tencel and linen-polyester blends work very well to tick those boxes, and for cold conditions, polyester-wool or alpaca blends work best to tick those boxes.

My wardrobe is very eclectic because I don't care much about how I look. I do pay attention to ascetics in the sense of color though. I'm most drawn to tans/beiges, blue greens, blues, purples, light golden yellow, and whites.

The place where I live, gets fairly hot and muggy and has a long summer season, and I wear a fair amount of linen (unless I'm being very active, its the most comfortable fabric I've found), and not when wearing that, wear like tank tops, or synthetics that dry very fast when sweating a lot etc.

Leo Rising, Aquarius Venus, Libra Moon, Taurus MC. You probably need to consider the 2nd House to some extent since it relates to our possessions and what we value, especially materially. Mine is Virgo with Jupiter cusping into it some, Virgo Mars and Saturn in same, and Libra Moon in same. Mercury is in Capricorn widely conjunct the Chart ruler, the Sun in Cap. Cap Merc is very closely trine Virgo Jup.

More importantly than all that, I'm an ET soul in a human body. We just didn't/don't care about a lot of the things that humans seem to care so much about. How we looked didn't matter to us. Form and function was the main consideration. We lack the strong ego of human bodies as we evolved differently and more collectively so than humans. In many ways, just very, very, very different than humans.

The humans of the further future will be more similar to how we are.

Interesting topic Brenda! Im not sure how to describe my style. But my family always makes fun of me and calls me Kleopatra because I guess my preference is a bit more expensive. I do gravitate towards extravagant things.

I think my aesthetics for my enviroment and clothes are different. With my clothes I tend to love getting dolled up. When I go out I wear makeup and wear my hair in loose curls. I don't like following trends (probably my Aqua rising/stellium), but I wear whatever I find to be pretty. I usually wear wrap type of blouses of like satin fabrics, jeans and kitten heals lol
Sometimes a part of me likes to be a little edgy (but not too much just enough) and go a little more like a softer romantic goth, like Amy Lee from Evanescence when Im feeling gloomy, but while still maintain my style.
I wear wrap coats in the cooler weather.

I tend to gravitate towards expensive stuff I must admit. I have my room full of furniture from different parts of the world which leads me to my preference in surroundings. I like more deep colors, like my room is made of purple, forest/emerald green, coral, burnt orange, and turquoise/teal.

Actually I think a good example of my style/aesthetic is the Brandy and Monica music video "The boy is mine" their clothing is similar to my style and even their room looks very similar to mine. I didnt even do it deliberately lol
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSIOp_K5GMw

I like otherworldy surroundings, like I love greenery and things that make me feel in another world. That's why I like have my room filled with unigue things. The rest of our house is completely different in style from my room so I like when you enter my room it's like a whole other world. I love rainforests and woods stuff. I like candle scents. Yeah Im pretty big on stuff like this. I feel like my style is a way to express myself and make put myself in my own world. A way to surround myself with feel good vibes.

My style has changed overtime even though Im still young. But when I was younger like a teen I went through a lot of phases but I think Im really coming into what I like without caring what others think so much. I feel like this is more me.

Im not sure what placements really indicates my style, but Im guessing my venus in the 1st house places a big role in it. Also probably my Aqua (not like following trends) and 12th house stellium (which loves mystical and otherworldly settings)

Lol, we are almost like style opposites, even though we have so many similarities in our charts. That's so interesting! Biggest difference with out Venuses is probably that my Venus makes no major aspects at all. Lots of minor ones though. My Venus aspects Mercury, Chiron, Jupiter, Neptune and ascendant very closely, but it's all semi-squares, semi-sextiles and sesquisquares.

It’s really funny how we have such different styles but so many similar placements. Our ascendants are almost conjunct, mine is at 9Libra. And so are our Moons, mine is at 6Virgo.
Our Venus aspects might make the big difference. But maybe the ruler of our Moon contributes too. Your Mercury is in Cancer and mine is in Gemini, water vs air. We do both share a love for textures. So Taurus Venus seems to have that in common. My Venus is in 7Taurus (first decan) and yours is in 22Taurus (third decan). Maybe that has impact as well?

A little off topic, but Nadja, I used to have a book all about the Moon's Nodes, and one of the things that it talked about is the correlation of South Node to Asc conjunctions tended to indicate shorter to much shorter than average height. In fact, the author of the book indicated that one of the common factors of dwarfism and little people was Asc closely conjunct South Node.

(Conversely, North Node conjunct Asc tended to correlate with increased height and/or long limbedness/lankiness).

Was just curious if you are shorter than average physically?

Since Libra Asc in an archetypal sense is a bit taller than average and well proportioned, and since the aspect isn't super close (though moderately close), I wouldn't expect it to be particularly extreme in your case. Maybe just a few inches or so below the average of your country.

Yeah, your style certainly seems more airy to me. And my tendency to be drawn to vintage clothing could be a Cancer thing (nostalgia?). And collecting things (having the opposite of a capsule wardrobe, lol) also seems like a Cancer characteristic.

The decan think could well have merit too, but I have no idea about decans tbh.

Huh, that's interesting! No I'm actually a couple inches taller than is the average here for my birth sex.

What might indicate someone who loves jewelry but simplicity due to not liking heavy, or hot feeling on the skin?

I'll bb to update this response.
I can answer Shakira the musician really is a lot like my style. Not how I am always but my preference of dressing. I am a barefoot, sandal type. Flowy skirts but when dressed dn shorts and tanks are just fine. When it's cold I do adopt a sweatshirt and leggings style. I dress mostly for comfort. I like aesthetically feminine, free flowing looks. I recently bought a few little tank dresses that are printed with design. Jewelry as I said is a very minimal basis. I do like necklaces, bracelets (unheavy) and simple earrings. Not studded old fashioned, only latch little dangling ones. I'll add my chart info soon.

I'm Air for both your inquiries - ALL my energies of those results are inside Air houses (easy breezy). 11th house MC is Libra in Aqua house. &In Gemini's house 3 I have Moon+Venus Aqua. This may be why I like to "feel" air on me. Shoes suck. I wish it were summer year round for cute sandals and pedicures. Apparel that is light weight, not stiff, not scratchy. I really am an Air styled individual.

Interesting, thank you for sharing Nadja. I haven't made enough of a study of it to have a firm opinion one way or the other about it. Don't know if it is more true or not. Clearly it's not in your case.

Sun pisces, Moon Taurus, Venus Aries, Rising scorpio, 6th & 7th house in taurus, 8th house in gemini, MC in virgo . Im 25 years old,

my closet is full of black, white, beige, browns , pastels and different shades of softer pinks. 4-5 clothing pieces in the colors royal blue and scarlet red. No colorful clothing for me please.. I go for bodycon dresses, wrap blouses, pencil skirts or waist cinching straight leg pants, peacoats, sunglasses, belts, im more of a heel and sandal person, not much of a sneaker person (only for work, im a nurse). cashmere, spandex and cotton!. I love gold jewelry, silver jewelry does not look good on me. I LOVE PERFUME! Always need to have some on. love shopping at macys and dillards but occasionally I do go to forever 21 and other boutiques for the basics which are a lot cheaper at. I am super unorganized though.. and i do notice that after 1 wear or 2 wears, i loose interest in what i just bought and it ends up on my closet floor never to be worn again unless i come across it in the near future lol, I get told a lot that i dress very "classy" and that my overall appearance looks "expensive" , but honestly i wont buy anything SUPER DUPER expensive i have a budget of 100$ whenever i do go shopping, most of the time im in scrubs!

sun, merc, venus in capricorn (7th house), moon in virgo, cancer ascendant.

I would desribe it as classic (capricorn) with a twist (venus square uranus, uranus in 5th). The opposite of flashy.People have told me my dress style/look is refined, but at the same time also unique and individual. I generally combine very classic, well tailored (but simple) pieces with original and unique jewellery or a classic pair of black trousers with a strikingly cut top or shoes. Generally, clothing needs to look great, but just as important is the quality and feel of the material. I'd never wear an uncomfortable piece of clothing/pair of shoes. I also buy a lot of second hand clothing, for instance my work wardrobe consists of a lot of Armani tops and blazers, all bought second hand on ebay. Not because I'm a brand junkie, never have been never will be, but because I love the sharply tailored cut of the Armani collezioni and Giorgio Armani lines. Would never pay a fortune for branded fashion or a car (all my earnings go into great food and travel :-) My work wardrobe broadly looks like Julianne Margulies style on the Good Wife...lots of maroon colours :-)...

Interesting! I once dated a guy going through this transit of Uranus squaring his Venus and at one point he made his FB profile picture himself wearing a gorilla mask.

Lately I've been inspired by women who dress feminine but modest.

Like Nicole Kidman in 9 perfect strangers.

And Chloë Sevigny in Big love.

The prairie dresses started for me when Uranus entered Taurus.

I'm a Taurus Sun (10H), Scorpio Moon conjunct Pluto (4H), Gemini Venus (11H), Cancer Rising.

I've always liked high end clothing. Brands like Saint Laurent, Celine, Alexander McQueen became part of my wardrobe as soon as I got a job and started buying my own stuff. I'm 30 now.

I believe in buying clothes of good quality but in a quantity that is reasonable. I actually have a capsule closet, and every year or so I change the pieces that are too worn out or don't fit.

My style is minimalistic and practical. All my clothes are in shades of black/grey/white. I don't like color or any sort of print. I often wear pencil skirts and dresses that hug my body (which is one of my strong points) paired with some cool shoes and a leather jacket. I also perpetually have sunglasses on (traditional Ray Bans).

Don't really care for jewelry or accessories. I have some pairs of earrings (simple bangles, diamond studs) that I wear occasionally but more often than not I don't even bother. And I don't like carrying bags filled with things either; just my wallet, phone and keys.

I think fashion can be a form of art and I love watching runway shows. But in my daily life I approach it as something utilitarian.

I have been a hand me down magnet to people since my early 20's!

My older sister, my mother in law, preschool parents, the lunch lady, my mother in laws neighbor, my mom's friends, my mom's patient who cleans rich people's houses that give away clothes with the tags still on!

My husband and I finally had to holler STOP! I have no more space!

Since Uranus has been in Taurus I've had to do lots of "no buys" I'll go 3 months with out shopping now.

Not too fond of patterns, generally. LOVE (!!!!!!!) all shades of grey, dark greens/blues/silver.

I need my clothes to FEEL right on my body. Nothing can be pinching, scrathing, shafing or annoy me. I have on occasion literally gone out and bought something new and tossed whatever was irritating me.

I swing from jeans/thsirt/cowboy boots to skirts/dresses to suits.

I ONLY wear v-neck tshirts/sweater

I like cashmere.

I do tend to stick to a few brands but will buy something else if it has quality and feels good. And, hmmm, yeah...I might be a snob BUT having said that, I must recommend all cashmere products from H&M! Great stuff that lasts! 2 of my favorite sweaters ( V-neck ) I bought there 4 years ago and they are amazing!

My friend described my style as British housewife yesterday.

And my sister calls me grunge fairy.

Uranus in Taurus has me not wanting to dress for certain men sometimes. My husband did not like the prairie dresses and I kept buying them.
