Hi just wanted to discuss how people with saturn 3rd house feel dumb or are actually dumb? Did you all have trouble with higher education? How did impact your intelligence? How did impact your learning?
EDIT: what about learning practical skills? You know one used in daily life & to survive at workplace/job? I don't know right way to learn either. At work,I feel like i need a thorough understanding of the subject to understand. If someone tells me a 'H'(middle) of a topic, i become confused & take a lot of time to connect from A to Z. Don't know how to apply myself too much. I also have mercury in 12th scorpio squaring saturn in 3rd aquarius btw.

I don't have that placement, but if I would, I wouldn't call myself dumb.
That's not very loving towards yourself, everybody has his own kind of expressing his endless intelligence, which is one with all, with eternal love, with God.

In some incarnations part of it can be hidden from our concious minds, because we have to develop first, and partial blindness can help us on our way. 🏞️🌻

I most likely have Saturn in 3rd along with Uranus there, I've had it easy in academia (when I'm in mood for studying).. In fact I've always dealt with other students who want to have some cheats in exams lol

The only thing that affected my optimal intelligence is some drugs they give like candy these days (legal human poisons)

I have Saturn in 3rd, in Sagittarius. Opposite Sun and Chiron, trine Jupiter in Aries 7th.

I'm of above average intelligence and have never had any issues with learning, other than occasionally being bored. I was the first of my extended family to pursue a higher education and am still the only one with an academic degree (I have a bachelor's and a master's). Generally I'm too much of an intuitive thinker for academia to suit me, but it was never a struggle.

I'm the one friends and family come to with their practical problems that need solving, so I'd say I have decent skills in that area too. Anything that needs organizing or needs to be planned for the best efficiency is my forte. I work as a librarian so I have good use for these skills at work too. Otherwise also good at down-to-earth stuff. If it's mechanical I can figure it out, and I'm generally good with my hands.

*ahem* Okay!

"Saturn square Mercury" in H3 is your mind and mental realm--
Your mind can get times where it is filled with negative mental talk, and self-talk.

Approaching work with a negative-attitude (before you even get in the door) can 'set' the atmosphere for you to HAVE a negative experience at work-- because your 'thinking-mind' made it that way in advance. (Your Mercury is also conjunct Mars, which is like an addition of a battery power-source that keeps it going and going and going?)

Change your Focus!
Don't walk in with an attitude of "finding and zooming-in on every-little-flaw, every little irksome thing that is 'wrong' and 'bad' about the work you are asked to do. Ughhh.

Get a book on Positive Thinking, and try out what it says.

Go to Youtube and do a search about 'How to have Positive Thinking' or How to create Positive Thoughts? ..

Practice that--- and you WILL begin to have less-heavy thoughts and days.

Replace the negative, with Positives.
Practice!!

Find what is 'good' in the workspace, and among your peers. Make it a Game!

Does this DOES eventually 'lift' the bitterness and sourness from your mind.

You'll save energy because thinking negatively all day is a depressing drain on you---

For you, WORK is a four-letter dirty word?

Your name means "Hero"- ...
Cultivate a New Attitude!!!

LYRICS
I'm wearing a new dress, new hat
Brand new ideals
As a matter of fact
I've changed for good

It must have been the cool night
'New moon', slight change
Or that look in your eye
That makes me feel like I should

I'm feelin' good from
My head to my shoes
Know where I'm goin'
And I know what to do
I've tidied up my point of view
I got a new attitude

I'm in control
My worries are few
'Cause I've got love
Like I never knew
Oo, oo, oo, oo, ooh
I got a new attitude
Oo, oo, oo, oo, ooh

There is Honor in ALL Work.
Approach it as a Service --
a holy service.

Do you have a spiritual practice?
Do you believe in God?

And whatsoever ye do,
do it heartily, as to the Lord,
and not unto men

(Do it like you're working for God!)

I have retro Saturn in 3rd, opposite Mercury, and part of a fixed cross. (Also square moon and Uranus).

My intelligence is fine, I believe this depends a lot on the way your childhood shaped you (the experiences). My family offered me a lot of information, stimuli, experiences, various books, I went to a very expensive kindergarten and even the food was as nourishing as possible <- Those are also some big factors IMO.

Practical skills wasn't a fan of them. We had manual labor class in school and it was boring because I can't find the sense in stitching pieces of things and coloring and etc. Machines can do that. I enjoy being focused on living things (fascinated by nature), not objects. But this one again depends on evolutionary psychology - I am female and ever since prehistoric times we have been shaped to focus on relationships/children whilst men focused on hunting/tools.

The only way I could see Saturn acting out with me is that... I don't have an imagination. I think in words, not images, and it makes me feel handicapped sometimes. When somebody is talking with me about an object or explaining something in detail, I can not imagine it, and it's so difficult for me to follow.

Do you check out of conversations? Also what do you mean when you say your intelligence is fine? Are u bookish or street smart? Can you just clear exams or you can make a project/model using your own ideas where you link what's written in the books & the outside world? Also i'm sure you have issues with communications, any practical ways to improve them- one that actually works? I suck at casual conversations...i can't even make a joke.

This could be any hardship with learning, speech or communication such as a learning disability, shyness etc BUT if you stick to it, Saturn will reward you with maturity and the ability to overcome.

Hi Kahra,

Thanks for your questions, it helps me analyze myself too!

I think my effect is mostly on the mental imagery side (absent, I just very rarely have low-resolution image flashes).

Then, on the communication side, I am OK but have a bit of an inferiority complex sometimes because I am not a big talker and always felt/seemed ignored in convos.

Do you check out of conversations? Well, I can handle a conversation, but always found it difficult to follow multiple conversations. Like, when you spend time with more than 3 people. Again, without an imagination, I feel so overwhelmed sometimes.

Also what do you mean when you say your intelligence is fine? Are u bookish or street smart? I am bookish - but only with subjects that I enjoy. I have some subjects that I just can't comprehend, absorb, again.. because I can not imagine abstract processes or 3D ones, geometrics etc. To be intelligent = to adapt to situations and use past information to your advantage, and I can definitely do that. Now, about absorbing knowledge... told you.

Can you just clear exams or you can make a project/model using your own ideas where you link what's written in the books & the outside world? I can make a project/model.

Also i'm sure you have issues with communications, any practical ways to improve them- one that actually works? I suck at casual conversations...i can't even make a joke. I've had issues in the past mostly but it was because I felt very sad, inferior to others. So it was mostly my feelings affecting me. I suggest you go out there or find experiences where you could listen/or participate in conversations.
I learned how to be a better communicator by participating in more conversations, reading or watching movies etc.
Not a long time ago I was at a bigger party and a friend of a friend came up to me and made casual talk, but it was the basic one everybody does. If you focus, you'll realize that most people have a similar of doing a casual talk. Of course, it depends on the event/place/situation, but whenever you meet someone new you try to ask personal relevant questions. I am 22 so some of the questions were:
- Oh, and how do you like the city where you live at right now? (the person knew I moved recently)
- And are you working, or still studying? (at 22 this is a common topic)
- Are there christmas events in your city? (person finding out about my city)

I hope this example is helpful for you. Whenever there is some casual talk with somebody, start a conversation based on something personal or relevant about them, and by asking open-ended questions. Not ones that finish in yes/no.

Saturn in Aquarius in 3rd house.

I'm far from being dumb. In many ways, I'm actually more intelligent than most people, but these ways are specific to certain areas of intelligence. There are different types of intelligence and everyone has strengths and weaknesses when it comes to these. It's also possible to develop more intellect even if you lack it. For example, my emotional intelligence used to be lower, but now it's at least average. To compensate for my strongest types of intelligence, there are some areas where I struggle far more than others.

Intelligence aside, I had some trouble with higher education. I felt like it held me back from becoming a good writer and higher doesn't even mean better. Learning is important, but the education system doesn't actually value education and it never nurtured my strengths. While the education system did do some things right, I believe it does more harm than good for a lot of children and I'd be in a better place if my strengths were nurtured from a much younger age.

My dominant weakness is with tests. I learn a lot, but I can't just memorize every detail I'm expected to know and reproduce it for a good grade. That's not learning. That's memorization and memory fades over time. Use it or lose it. I have exceptionally poor short-term memory that can be pretty selective with what it remembers and forgets. Sometimes it works and other times information goes out the window. So, studying was never effective. Now, if I had something to do with that information, it would be more likely to stick.

I was taught how to read in school. Being able to read is a guaranteed skill I need in daily life so it makes sense I remember how to do it years later. Same when it comes to writing by hand and with typing. These are important life skills so I have something to apply my memory to. By learning individual letters, vocabulary, grammar, punctuation, how to pronounce words, etc, I can apply that to what I read and how I write.

There isn't much I can do by knowing this or that happened on X date. It can be important to know this information, but I don't think like most people. Whenever I've tried to study, I either forgot information or my test score went down. My brain is more like a mental rebel. It doesn't want to learn what it's told to learn. It wants to learn what it wants to learn and what's useful. It doesn't want anything to do with anything outside of basic math.

Another weakness is my work speed. While I can be quite fast to learn things, I think faster than I can write by hand, type, or even speak. There's always a lot going on in my head, which works for me in some ways and against me in others. I pride myself on being able to write well and apparently this carried over to my handwriting even before I decided I want to be a writer.

My handwriting is pretty neat. The cost? I take a long time to write anything by hand and I'm sure my grip has a role to play in this too. No one corrected my grip when I was learning how to write, but even if someone had done that, I have a stubborn mind and likely would have resisted any attempts to correct me. Taking notes in class was extra tedious and I remember being graded on my note-taking in economics class in high school. I just had to copy what was on-screen. All of it and there were several pages per day to write down word by word and letter by letter.

In terms of homework, well. I have a lot of personal issues. I'm almost 30 and I'm still healing from everything I went through as a child. In college, I applied for disability accommodations so I didn't have to take as many classes and I had more time to complete tests. The key word here is "complete." Completing the tests usually meant I made at least a 60 or higher, but that varied depending on my memory, interest in the topic, and the test.

Overall, it's worth mentioning that my grades in high school were mostly A's and B's and I made a lot of B's and A's in college. I was no straight-A student, but aside from tests, my other assignments were often much better. Test grades actually bring down my grades. When I took a US History class in college, I remember the syllabus saying that 70% of my grade would be from tests and I somehow thought it was a good idea to stay in the class. I ended up with a C at the end of the semester. This was the only time I didn't lose my mind over it. That really says a lot about my opinion of the US.

I prefer to keep my grades as high as possible. As a critical as I am of the education system, especially the grading system, my grades going down at one point set off my perfectionist alarm. If it were not for the grading system, I wouldn't have known to see a professional or even that my problem could be treated. For some time in college, I dealt with cognitive impairment issues.

Practical skills. I can cook, clean, and keep up with appointment dates. I'm on a fixed income, however. I've never had a job and I applied for SSI in college to help financially support my mother. At the point I applied, my mental health was far worse than it is now. I never thought I'd reach the point where my mental health is actually stable enough to potentially pursue a career in the future.

My disabilities are invisible. You can't look at me and tell I'm disabled, but I'm dependent on psychiatric medication to be at a base level of functionality.

So, while most adults have jobs and work, I absolutely need medication to function and I cannot work without medication. Emphasis on I *need* medication. This means that if I got a job, being cut off from affordable healthcare would destroy me and I'd fall apart. SSI would cut off my benefits if I so much as tried to see if I can work doing something.

If I had to survive without some form of support, I'd likely end up dead in the streets. I have Major Depression and an unknown anxiety disorder. In the future, I'm going to pursue an official diagnosis so I have professional documentation that I have an anxiety disorder and SSI can be updated. SSI only knows about me having Major Depression. My anxiety disorder developed years after I was approved.

I'd be miserable and depressed in most workplace environments. As a heavy introvert, I am mentally unable to handle long periods of time around other people, especially when it's routine. Being around other people easily drains me of my energy and I've even felt nauseous in public before.

Although I'm currently on SSI, I'm hoping to become a writer someday. I am a creator by nature so I regularly need that kind of outlet for myself.

I know that Saturn in 3rd house is a tough placement. It can be very isolating too, but as a writer, I can think of no better placement for Saturn. In my experience, if you work with Saturn instead of against it, you develop skills that last a lifetime and you build a stable foundation for the future ahead. Considering I want to be a good writer, Saturn in 3rd house may delay my progress, but in the long-term, I'll become a much better writer than if I started earlier.
