Like, literally. What is my chart trying to say?

North Node (Virgo, 6H) Square MC (Sag), 2°
North Node Opposition Ascendant (Pis), 2°
Neptune (Cap, 11H) Trine North Node, 2°

It's time for me to leave SN, put on my big girl panties and start working toward my purpose. But these aspects have me confuzzled.

I'm not an expert by any means, but I'm sure by your comment saying you're ready for your purpose, these aspects will simply "assist" your soul mission. Especially with the Square and opposition means that there is definitely some kind of conflict, hardship, or enlightenment that you need to solve.

As a matter of fact, I feel like all of our placements are enlightenment, but especially with the North Node. It's what you should work towards because it will bring you good karma. NN Square MC could mean that you have to balance or work towards remaining loyal to your true higher nature, that wants to be "filtered" through your Sag Midheaven. I'm a Leo midheaven and I think I have a lot of aspects to my MC as well. I think one of them is the NN. I sometimes have to stop myself from entertaining some of the easier hard aspects that are at play, and learn to become more mature. It's hard to explain, but I definitely feel it. Oppositions are kind of like a learning process like the square but it's like balancing two polar extremes simultaneously. I'm not sure of the push or pull you feel with this aspect, but I know some can be stronger than others. They can often be at "odds" with each other because it feels like one side is pulling you left and the other right. I'm a Venus Opposition Pluto, and I absolutely hate this placement.

I would gander to say that if your NN is opposite your ascendant then it means that your South Node is conjunct your ascendant? If so, then I can guess to say that your South Node is most likely heavily felt or even expressed too often. Unless of course if there are other negative aspects at play that are sort of "disrupting" this. Anything near the ascendant is going to be a very "ingrain" theme within your identity or self-expression. It definitely shows up. I can understand if you have a real hang up with this though because it's easy to resort back to our south node because it's what we're inherently "comfortable" with but at the same time it's not what we truly need to evolve or feel our true life's purpose. I would say maybe do some research on your South node being on your ascendant (if it is) simply because the ascendant is such a crucial part of an individuals every day life. You cannot hope to balance them out together I don't think. They have to be looked at each individually for what they are first. Perhaps use your higher calling to become more analyzing and grounded? Just like with my Venus opposition Pluto, I have to learn to be more selfish with my own self love. Pluto brings about change much like the North Node does, although they are obviously going to go about it in very different manners. Pluto is more of a "force to be reckoned with," while the North Node is more of a soothing calling for your higher being. Or you can look at it as who your natural self inclination is trying to allow you to evolve "into."

Neptune Trine North Node might actually pose some problems too, because I would venture to say that you can find a certain worthwhile stability in Capricorn, but it's also maybe still just a lot of forces at play that are making it hard for you to focus. (although I could be wrong)

We don't ever truly leave our SN. That's not the right approach either since it's an approach from pure desperation. You need to first of all accept that these gifts have been given to you, and next try to understand what is going on within you. With your ascendant most likely feeling a very heavy influence of your past self, you have to adopt a very mental approach, rather than allowing your dreaminess to always seep into your life in a "not so healthy" manner. Mine does it with Leo SN, since my NN is in Aquarius/ 4th house. Perhaps you need to adopt a more critical, realistic view of the world since you probably like to use your imagination maybe too much? I understand the seductiveness of Neptune's influence. I find it very easy to slip off into la la land. I like to do it too.

I hope this helps and let me know if I'm not even close.

I totally missed this the first time! But thank you so much for your very thoughtful analysis! I will respond more later.

In my opinion, the north node is not our "Purpose". It is an energy we tend to be strongly drawn to and yes it is compelling.

Some people never leave their south node, especially when the south node has many planets, and the north node none. I know someone with chiron, mercury, sun and Jupiter on the south node. And no planets in the north node. That person is now in their 70s and has never left the south node.

In my chart I have personal planets square to my nodes. So I will never define the NN as my "purpose." That would be denying my personal planets. And I will not deny any part of me.

My life as its best has been about striking a balance between conflicting elements and learning from the process.
