Spring is in the air and a Full Moon in Libra is just around the corner. So maybe this is an excellent time to think about what astrological placements would make your perfect match, a.k.a. your Astro Prince(ss) Charming. There are a couple of classic aspects that point to attraction and compatibility. But as every person is different and has their own preferences, I don't think these are must haves. 1) Angle (ruler) contacts
"The ascendant (Asc) is your identity, your attitude to the world and the world’s attitude to you. It is also associated with your physical appearance and body. The Descendant (Dsc) is opposite the Ascendant. The Ascendant represents you, and the qualities of the sign on the descendant are somewhat hidden. They are in the shadow, and we don’t always recognize them in ourselves. Because of this, we often seek them in others. Understanding the ascendant and descendant help you a lot when it comes to love and relationships."

Powerful compatibility aspects also known as the "marriage rule": Asc conjunct Dsc, Asc ruler conjunct Dsc, Dsc ruler conjunct Asc and Asc ruler conjunct Dsc ruler.
Other attractive aspects are: Asc conjunct Asc, Asc conjunct IC or MC, Asc conjunct north node or south node, Asc conjunct Vertex or anti Vertex, Asc conjunct Venus or Mars.
2) Sun - Moon aspects
"Sun-Moon aspects in synastry are highly touted, with good reason. The Sun and the Moon are natural companions in the sense that they complement each other. When they come together in synastry, yin meets yang, day meets night, the subconscious mind meets the conscious mind, and so forth."

Easy relating would be the soft aspects: trine and sextile.
Soul mate connection that can come with some challenges: Sun conjunct Moon, where Sun is the dominant personality.
Another soul mate connection but a bit more challenging: Sun opposite Moon
Power struggles! But that could be just your thing: Sun square Moon. Difficult but with positive aspects of Sun/Moon between Venus/Mercury it could be manageble.
3) Moon compatiblity
"In romantic relationships Moon sign compatibility is more important than Sun sign compatibility. The Moon symbolizes our emotions, our nurturing and our deepest insecurities. If our Moon signs clash, there is a high chance of an emotional volatile relationship where people risk hurting each other very deeply."

It's not necessary to have an exact aspect between the Moons as long as the signs get along. Best would be Moon signs in the same element (trine), next best would be in a sister element (sextile, fire-air and earth-water).
Oppositions could still work but would probably require some balancing between the two people. Moon signs in the same modality (square) could be a battle field and extremely difficult to navigate as both people will feel in competition with each other on the level of their most basic needs.
4) Venus - Mars aspects or aspects between Venus/Mars and Uranus/Neptune/Pluto
"Venus and Mars are classic relationship planets. Venus in our birth chart represents our relationship style, what we find attractive and what we value. Mars in our birth chart represents how we go after the things we want, our passion and our ambition. When these two planets meet in synastry, attraction meets passion and that can give some real fireworks."
"There are some astrologers that are very critical about the outer planets in synastry because they are slow moving and define an entire generation of people that will make these contacts with your personal planets. You will not feel an irresistable connection with an entire generation. But when you're in a romantic relationship the synastry aspects with outer planets can represent certain issues that might arise between you that are connected to that generation. Especially when it triggers certain aspects in your own natal chart. So when looking at these aspects it's always important to check your own natal chart and see why you would or wouldn't be impacted by synastry aspects with outer planets. Relationships between Venus/Mars and the outer planets, especially the hard ones, are often described as karmic as there is an important lesson to learn when it triggers our own natal chart."

Again the easiest relating would be between Venus and Mars in soft aspect: trine and sextile.
Venus conjunct Mars is known as a classic sign of very high attraction. But some people find it too much of a good thing and rather annoying in the end. These two are kind of in each others face. If you're Mercury/Uranus dominant this might not be for you.
On the other hand some people find Venus conjunct Mars too bland and love the tension of Venus opposite Mars or Venus square Mars. However it could be difficult to deal with this type of friction more long term. Sometimes the hard aspects even indicate that the people have trouble coming together in real life. Things keep getting in the way.
Venus/Mars in synastry aspect with the outer planets most likely are an acquired taste. For people without and outer planet making prominent aspects in their natal chart, Uranus could be too erratic, Neptune could be too elusive and Pluto could be too intense. The soft aspects are easier to digest but could still be too much if your natal chart doesn't support these type of connections.
So based on the above and/or on your own experience what placements of Ascendant, Sun, Moon, Venus and Mars would your Astro Prince(ss) Charming have?
I'll share mine in the next post.
