I don't use sidereal. I use Linda Goodman star signs for birthday. I think it's placidus. I haven't got Linda Goodman star signs book to see if it's placidus.

Placidus/Whole sign/Equal house etc. Are house systems. They are not about sign dates. They are systems that divide the houses. Sidereal is sign based divisions that differs from Tropical. And the former is often used by India-based astrologers whom use the Vedic system of astrology. I find both systems valid. Though I use tropical myself (by default of having being exposed to it), I haven't intensely studied Vedic astrology. But from the little I have seen, there are overlaps. Vedic is (however) more layered and systematic in its rules. It's not "pop" sensitive at all like tropical tends to be I.e. Vedic emphasizes the Lagna(Asc) and Moon as more important than the Sun. And there are many rules to reading the birth chart in involved. In western(tropical astrology), the Zodiac sign in secular culture is still seen as MOST important. Students of Western Astrology start off by learning that placement first. Linda Goodman's books emphasize on the Sun sign. She stressed that there was no planet in the chart that can have enough power or brilliance to "override" the Sun sign position.🙏🏿 IP: Logged |

I have a 4th house stellium in Tropical, have a 5th house stellium in Sidereal, my life has been all about having fun, chasing chicks, dancing, singing, writing so 5th house stellium makes complete sense to me. Now the tricky part is I have 4 planets in Aqua in sidereal and 4 planets in Pisces in tropical. Now I can't really relate to the airyfairy quality of Aqua BUT I can completely relate to the characteristics of the constellation(called as Nakshatra) in which my stellium is situated in, in sidereal. Now I have to choose between having an exalted Venus in tropical and exalted Mars im sidereal...I am not sure if I relate to Mars in Cap but my Mars falls in Dhanistha constellation and I can completely relate to its traits. I love experimenting, which is a Mars in Aqua trait BUT again I have stellium in Aqua in sidereal. Then again I can relate to having Venus in pisces too tsk tskMy ASC falls in Libra in sidereal and falls in Scorpio in tropical, both make sense to me as the ruler of the constellation in which my ASC is situated in in sidereal is in Scorpio. My chart does change completely though, I go from having 6 planets in water in tropical along with ASC and Node to having 5 planets in Air in Sidereal, this is where I'm bit confused as I can relate to the characteristics of constellation in sidereal and relate to characteristics of Pisces and Scorpio in tropical. The ruler of the constellation in which my stellium is situated in in Sidereal is in Scorpio though, so it again makes sense. I have a gemini moon in both, Mars/Moon in tropical and Mars as ruler of the constellation of my Moon in sidereal, so again both make sense to me. IP: Logged |

And there is no Ophiuchus in the sidereal system I have used so far, in Vedic too there are 12 signs like in tropical and in Cyril Fagan's sidereal zodiac too there are 12.IP: Logged |
