My husband have empty 3rd house.
Me the opposite, I have three planets in my 3rd.

I was told empty 3rd house means they can't/struggle to communicate. But then it also said no planets means the energy is not manifest in there so it should be smooth, alot of planets in fact mean you really need to work on it. So I don't know which one is accurate.

I'm the one with planets in 3rd house and I struggle to communicate.

While my husband (whom have empty 3rd house but he communicate fine), has zero problem with being assertive and confrontation, he bold as a brash.
Very black and white thinking man, zero grey in between, draw the line very clearly. You will absolutely know what he thinks, since there no grey in his dictionary. His words are assertive and he will tell you as it is. And he has zero problem confronting.

While me, the opposite. I jump all over the place, avoid confronting, the scatter Gemini brain me, plus 3 planets in third house will just add on to my scattering brain, lol.

My husband work nights and I can never sleep without him (wait for him come home from work in the morning then we sleep, our toddler will be in school then). My 4 year olds is sleeping, so I'm just online all night reading astrology stuff. And watch soccer, lol. I love the UEFA Champions League, and World Cup.

in comparison to: 4th (but mars loosely on ic),8th, 9th and then some iffy ones (12th has venus but it's on the ascendant by 2 degrees, 6th has moon but it's on the descendant by 2 degrees)

Empty 2 - Ruler in Cancer. I'm not materialistic - I kinda understand materialism, but it doesn't appeal to me at all. I don't want to be rich so much as comfortable. If I did come into a lot of money, I know I'd give a great deal of it away or help my loved ones. I don't necessarily hold on to things, but I do have trouble letting go of emotions and guilt.

Empty 3 - Ruler in Virgo. I'm not a talker, though, unless I really have something to say. I don't write, I don't call. I lost my voice back in 2007 (muscle tension dysphonia that hasn't responded well to the 1 treatment method there is - speech therapy) so my ability to speak is unpredictable from one moment to the next. Siblings...know I'm alive. I've lost 2 and the other 2...we get together for holidays and birthdays and I live close to 1 but she'll tell you she almost never sees me. I'm a loner.

Empty 4 - Ruler in Taurus, IC in Pisces. Mother rejection and verbal, physical, emotional, spiritual abuse. I talked about my siblings already. Moved around a lot as a child (military dad). Always homesick but can't pinpoint for where exactly. My own apartment is like a nun's cell - a bit bare bones. In virtual worlds, my home is as cozy as I can make it.

When the house is empty, you look at the sign on it. Like my husband have empty 7th house, but the sign on it it Capricorn, and Capricorn rule by Saturn. So I was told to go look at where his Saturn is. Well, his Saturn is with his Mars in a pair, lol.

His 3rd house is also empty, and Virgo sign on it, and Virgo rule by Mercury, so I was told to go look where his Mercury is.

I don't know if that accurate, but I was told to read it like that by a woman who help read my husband chart and she know alot about traditional astrology.
