Since this is astrology 2.0 sub, I just want to share this, I just cut and paste it to here. https://gothicastrology.tumblr.com/post/147808640807/detriment-fall-exhalation [ A domicile placement is the strongest planetary placement. It feels at home and is able to fully play out it’s role. An exalted placement is the second strongest planetary placement. It feels like a guest in a home. It doesn’t fully play out it’s role, but the effect is positive. A detrimental placement is a stressful planetary placement. It feels stressed and there is much tension built up. It has a negative or non-existent effect. A fall placement is the weakest planetary placement. It feels weak, and the planet looses it’s influence. A peregrine placement is a neutral planetary placement. In this case, these placement’s aspects are more influential. ] I used to thought exalted is the strongest, I guess astrologers disagreed, they said Domicile is. And it make sense, when you in your own home, you are stronger than a guest (even if the guest has the potential, they are still in 'your' own home). IP: Logged |

Hi married11years, dignities are a good indication of how easy it is for a planet to express it’s energy. When you look at aspects where there is friction and competition between two planets, like an opposition or especially a square (but this can also happen with a conjunction), it can give information about which planet has the upper hand and where you struggle to find balance. For example, my Virgo Moon is square my Gemini Mercury. My Mercury is most dominant because it’s in domicile and is the ruler of my Moon. Mercury is also exalted in Virgo making it very easy for my Mercury to express itself at the expense of my Moon. I tend to rationalize my emotions too much. It’s a childhood coping strategy when my emotions were hardly ever validated but as an adult I need to learn to express my emotions. I do have them but it feels uncomfortable expressing them especially if I don’t have a logical explanation.

oh sis PlutoWasHere, may I ask, since you know so much about astrology. Do you know which house system is the most accurate to you? Between Whole house, Equal house, and Placidus. I mean the longitude and latitude does matter right? If someone born in China like me, which house system it be best for me? I mean the houses does shift with someone who has the same birthday that born in China to someone who has the same birth day but born in America. The longitude and latitude is huge different. Hi married11years, I prefer Placidus because it feels more accurate to me. Intercepted signs are relevant but will only be noticed if you use Placidus. But I use whole signs to get additional information as well. My Moon is in 11th house Placidus and rules my 10th house. This makes sense to me, because I work for the national government. 10th house is your career and reputation, the 11th house represents large organizations, your community and charity. But my Moon is in 12th house when I use whole signs, this also makes sense because I struggle with expressing my emotions. This is supported by the square my Moon makes to Mercury but also to Neptune. I always look for repeating themes in a chart. I look at the aspects, houses, signs, Placidus, whole signs and draco and look for patterns. IP: Logged |

I have Mars in detriment, it is strengthened by house sign (Aries) but in the 2nd house it is not the best place. It is conjunct the Moon and trine Uranus and square fixed Fire Leo Mercury and the nodes. This modifies Mars a lot. Uranus speeds Mars up and makes him muich more active, the Moon builds up the emotional intensity hugely and well the moon is opposite Pluto in 8th. Neptune is in it's fall in my 11th but conjunct Saturn and Uranus, Saturn is in it's domicile in 12th in the house of it's joy. Uranus is in the 11th in Cap, strengthened by house and the Aquarius rising with North Node in Aquarius. Moon is trine all 3 outers in it's exaltation sign, the Sun is ruled by this placement but so is Jupiter conjunct the Sun. Ruler of the Moon and Mars is Venus in Gemini in the 4th unaspected. Ruler of Venus is Mercury in Leo in 6th conjunct descendant, ruler of Mercury is the Sun in Cancer. IP: Logged | |
