I don't know what to think of my current Scorpio Boss (Birth time might be wrong)

I haven't been assigned any major tasks or roles.

It's very rare for a software firm to keep someone on salary without having them doing much.

Generally that's a bad sign..either they want the developer to leave or they'll be let go soon.

I'm expecting to be offloaded soon, so
i'm in the process of moving on to another firm..I just had 2 interviews, another virtual interview on teams in a couple days and another one yet to be scheduled.

My Scorpio boss senses this and out of the blue he says to me.

He's refering me to another team that's short handed to keep me busy...but he said you'll still report to me.

I thought that was odd he still wanted to retain control on me.

I don't get it why is he trying to keep me from going to another firm?. If so for what reason? i'm no world beating FAANG developer.

FYI: FAANG means (Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Google).

Whenever I do ask things from him he grant my requests fast without any problems. I only ask him for things on a need to know basis.

I'm still trying to figure him out based on this chart. He seams like an okay person...but I have a little hesitation about him.

Anything in his chart you guys spot?

I do get that vibe sometimes..like he's playing games to find out how good of a problem solver i'm.

He's going on vacation soon...i'm expecting another offer soon and hoping that whould be my opportunity to escape.

But I don't know....another part of me thinks he knows I whould attempt to leave during that time period.

I'm a little suspicious about his vacation too....

There are several upcomming projects comming up and this whould be an odd time to be going on a trip.

He did invite everyone on the team to meet up on Thursday for a group lunch before he goes on this "supposed vacation"

I figured he's going to make an anouncement, split us off into seperate groups for these projects.

Plus he wanted us to actually get to know each other as we've been all working virtually.

I swear...whenever there's an incident ticket that needs resolving it turns into a game show on zoom, lol.

One person shares there screen then the rest of us jump in shooting a solution,so it can get annoying real fast.

For context I was hired on right when this project was floundering...it's stablized now.

Ironically my Cancer mom is an important manager at one of the Banks that's using the firms services and is friends with the manger in charge of selecting which firms to procure services from.

Based on my information from my mom, she said my boss just wanted to show to the bank that he has a stable and productive team.

Prior to my arrival there was massive turnover problems.

But since it's stablized and your not assigning me to my intended role can I go now? Why are you still keeping me captive?

Moon in Aries tends to generally be a placement that is(at worst) very childish and can be infantile in their thinking. They can display selfish or self-centred tendencies and cater to their own interest.

Moon in Aries have the "I am the warrior" mentality. And thesquare of Jup/Mars to Moon suggests to me that this is someone who may want to prove to the world (when in actuality he wants to prove to himself) how big and tough he is.

So he does take on BIG(Jup) challenges (square). And the bigger the challenge, the better it is. Because in his mind,the greater the "battle"(Mars) the more lucrative the perceived end reward (Pluto is widely square to Mars). This is strongly competitive energy.

Squares to Moon can either make one exasperated and disoriented with all the challenges they face in life. It can be emotionally taxing for them on one hand.

Or it can make them the type to accept the challenges and (when really comfortable with them) seek them out because the "overcoming" of those challenges is so emotionally invigorating on the other.

I realized that at the heart of all this is the need for him to prove himself to others as being competent and efficient through the team. Thats where his self confidence comes from.

Notice that sun/Sat are conj i.e. wanting to be seen as the "authority" and in "control" of everything. Mars(ruler of Sat) is in mutual reception with Sat(ruler of Mars).

So this to me is someone who is very invested in where he puts his energy and can be very controlling/micro managing (if needs be) in order for him to have control over everything.

Scorpio energy HATES surprises and the unexpected. They want to be in the know. Gem (information) is in the solar 8th house of upheavals. Crucial information
they don't know or aren't privy to, makes them nervous.

Ironically enough though, with
Gem in solar 8th house, THEY can withhold information from others in order to control them subversively or make others believe they are the "all knowing genius".

The question is; how are you useful to him right now? In other words,this has less to do with your own career development than it does with him worrying about whether your exit from the team will cause the cards to topple.

Its very self-serving because in the end he wants to come out smelling like roses. So you are right now a sort of "security blanket" (Moon)he is using to test whether or not you can be dispensed with.

He doesnt like this change, its threatening to him feeling invincible. Taurus is on the North node and Scorpio is on the south node. Being self reliant and stable(Tau) without too much reliance on the resources of others(Sco) is something that he is constantly learning to do.☝🏿

I've had a lot of experience dealing with Aries mooners..this also includes my mom.

I think of Aries mooners like that 5yrs old kid demanding to get that special toy for Christmas.

If they get that toy for Christmas and it's exactly the way they want it...

They'll be out of your road for a while...until they start demanding the next thing.

I think he likes me because, I'm an Aries mooner too...so if there's an issue or problem I will either get it resolved quickly or we'll be able to find some alternate solution.

I do agree when you say I'm his security blanked...this was confirmed 1hr ago.

He called me at the Airport...saying he can't
connect to the wifi and asked me to submit his weekly timesheet for him.

He gave me all his user credentials to get this done I was a bit taken back by that...got everything done within 1hr.

The other thing I should have mentioned is
It's an tech outsourcing firm.

For the exception of the executive managment and 2 other people.

I'm the only person actually born and raised in Canada from an Asian background (my background is Filipino) in the building.

The only non Canadian thing I do is watch Hockey.

The majority of the employees that work in the firm are other Asian ethnic groups that were recruited by the company.

When I met my collegues on Thursday, it felt like the scene from Wizard Of Oz, when Dorothy meets the little people.
I was bigger then everyone else, lol

My boss moved to Canada from India as an international student..then got an MBA, then got hired by the firm to be a team lead, he's been here less then 2 years.

It could be the case that this as you mentioned Aries23Degrees.

He feels the need or him to prove himself..and seeing me a naturalized Canadian with asian background that could help.

In all honesty, I'm becoming less interested in this firm and want to move on.

There doing a lot of offshore outsourcing to India, you can pay someone in India $40 - $80 USD a day to do the low level level IT work...ie host and manage a web server.

The higher level work like Quality Assurance work can't or isn't recommended to be outsourced those jobs will remain unchanged.

Off topic
IT is not computer Science, or Software Eng..many people confuse the terms and bunch them together.

The risk of IT is if there's a demand for a service it becomes a fad with everyone even without much qualifications jumping into the fad.

Then once that fad dies everyone blames IT for loosing there job or they can just outsource the tasks to where ever the labour is cheap.

Devops has the potential to be this new fad.

Software Eng. is more stable and has a consistant demand..but it takes years to be a good developer...you need education and work experience to do this.

I'm not getting any of this from this firm and position.

As per being disposed of he probably knows I have a better chance of coming on top then him.

1)I can leave once the project date ends
and refuse to resign for another project.

2)Refuse to get involved in any new projects.
3)Leave for another firm
4)Get let go and get severance package.
