Is Chrion "the Wounded Healer" good or bad? Or both?

Like for instance, if you had Chrion transit over a natal planet or natal node, is this going to be benefic or malefic? Or possibly a mixture of both things?

So far so good.. it's making me learn new things, currently conjuncting my natal sun 1° orb.

quote:
What does Chiron mean in astrology?
In modern astrology, Chiron represents our core wounds and how we can overcome them.

Chiron is named after a Greek healer, philosopher, and teacher who, ironically, could not heal himself, and is symbolized by a key, demonstrating the importance of unlocking this minor planet's major lessons.

In many ways, our Chiron placement is our secret power. As we grapple with pain, we gain wisdom that we can pass onto others like a magical salve.

squares are not fun when you are also having Uranus/Saturn/Pluto opposition/square transits too.

It was a lot easier when it was in Pisces that is almost compatible with everything in my chart.

Holy cow I've been in a survival mode for many years until recently. Chiron square my Jupiter Cancer and having Uranus start to oppose my moon really did me in last year my mental health was a dumpster fire. I am finally starting to recover.

Though I will say if I am meant for bigger and better things...the universe will make my life so uncomfortable, toxic, and unstable...to push me to make a change.

If I am comfortable why fix what isn't broken?

I was born when Chiron (Aries, 7th house) was parallel the Asc (17 Virgo) at 5° North. I am a healer (herbal medicine, energy healing, spiritually oriented astrology, and more).

The mythology paints Chiron as a good apple. He was willing to explore his issues and overcome the limits of his lower (animal) nature. And that is what the centaurs symbolize: combination of man/upper and beast/lower (horse) in a process of finding balance between the higher cognitive and spiritual nature with the lower animal nature and its power. Most centaurs were infamous for being more animal, rambunctious, even violent. Chiron was a standout from them, very different, not just more human, but wise.

Chiron was a student of all the natural arts, herbal medicine, astrology, a tutor and wise one consulted by many who was intent on healing. How people experience this asteroid varies widely from teaching to a pressing curiosity to learn towards self betterment with a whole lot in-between.

My impression is that when people experience Chiron as a 'bad' astrological factor it is because they are not yet fully on the road to healing. They have not yet activated their intent to be whole and healed — at least in the manner needed for them. When people see Chiron as 'pain' or focus on the wounds rather than the 'healer' part that is what is happening — focusing on pain and blame rather than on healing and personal responsibility in it.

Summer of 2022 and for the last 3 weeks or so I've had Jupiter transiting conjunct my natal Chiron (and recently overlapping with Chiron's return). Both have been times of healing, increased enjoyment of life, the natural world, and a more positive outlook. That did not happen automatically, but because I had already been intent on healing and becoming more whole.

Chiron's mortal wound in the mythology is a metaphor for his awareness of his mortality, the eventual expiration of the body. That awareness is a human quality that differentiates one from the animals. It is also motivation to heal.

Chiron the asteroid is a bridge between the more materially present planetary energies (Sun through Saturn) and the outer transcendent planets (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto). So the Chiron process is one that helps us bridge that gap to make far better use of the transcendent energies. Without Chiron's process of emphasis on healing, the outer three planets seem malefic, confusing, bringing negative anticipation or even abuse of what their energies are meant to be.

I have Chiron square Neptune right now...I read an interpretation that it's a big time to protect yourself spiritually. SPOT ON! My Neptune is also in the 8th house. I have Neptune in Capricorn and I start a new job tomorrow.

Chiron seems to be an energy antenna. A place where we are so, so sensitive to the movement of energy that yes, it can absolutely wreck us, or make us whole. Very dependant on what's going on in aspect, the people involved, etc.

Chiron transits can be spicy if you're not very curious about yourself and how you work. Personally I have this conjunct a Node, so there is a deep sense of familiarity about this aspect. When I was young and un-learned, it was extremely painful. It felt like the world itself was against me. But that was also a deep fault of my caregivers, who had no interest in taking my experience seriously, and often encouraged the over-stimulation.

Transiting over a node to me sounds like a magical time. Chiron is where we can feel our own magic, our own ability to heal- not just others but ourselves. Healing the self is a lot trickier, but excessively worth it. Having a friendship with your own sensitivities makes the flow of Chiron's energy anywhere, move much smoother.

You're still gonna feel things, but how you move through those feelings makes all the difference.
