I just watched an adorable Philippino (or is it "Filipino"?) production on Netflix called "Gameboys-Level up edition " which I recommended to my nephew(who is experiencing all sorts of fears regarding his burgeoning sexuality).I always pre-approve content that i recommend to him. But at times, it is difficult to find age-appropriate themed titles that cater to young LGBTQI audiences. Many tend to focus almost exclusively on sex. Not that there is something intrinsically wrong with the latter. Its just that I don't want him to think that sex is a MUST at his age. But i digress...
In this cute production ("Heartstopper being another winner) the story centres around a shy online gamer Cai-who is Cancer and the more extroverted gym enthusiast Gav(a Scorpio).
It is cliche i know, the jock falls for the geek. But it does have a lot of heart. And i got glued to it(subtitles and all). Made me wanna learn the Filipino language 🤣
Anyways, the fictional characters are in a very up/down, hi/low relationship with each other. Even though it starts online. Feelings are immediately right on the surface for both. So we the viewers get to experience the ebb and flow of this unfolding romance between the two fictional water sign characters.
I am Cancer Moon. I have never been in any sort of entanglement with Sco Moon. But I couldn't help feeling that throughout this series, much of the obstacles between them was because hypersensitivity would get in the way. And what was a small issue that could be resolved through open communication etc. Ballooned into a ocean that would let one(or the other) drift away from the union.
If it wasn't for Gav's ex girlfriend turned friend, turned matchmaker/ mediator(who I suspect is likely a fictional Sag or a Libra), the match-up would have been dead in the water. This despite the strong feelings between Cai and Gav.
Now my question: is there a grain of truth to this? Ofcourse cinematic liberties with the storyline have been taken to exaggerate the plot for dramatic effect. But is it heavygoing at the start(or even in the middle of the relationship) for these two energies?
Are there too many deep/inexplicable and subversive emotions floating around that need clarity which may stall things from progressing smoothly? Or halt things altogether and irrevocably?
I am curious. Because ime with fire signs(especially Aries) things move quite quickly. And if there is a fight between me (Sag) and them (Aries). It is resolved within a day or two(if really serious). Maybe through a screaming match or even heated whatsapp messages.
But I don't think things for us get this "watery" . Atleast I have not met a Fire Sun/water Moon like me to judge it from that perspective.
The relationship is not as delicate as what was portrayed here in the initial stages. I found myself screaming at the screen at times with " for crying out loud, just call and sort it out with him instead of assuming stuff🙆🏿♂️ ".
But(admittedly), even with well matched Aries-Sag,it can explode in the middle-due to too much fiery temperaments in the mix.And if the two are proud.Things CAN end on a bitter note with feelings unresolved and gaping wounds not healed🤷🏿♂️
All this is usually closer to the end of the union. Not the beginning . The latter is often filled with high hopes🤔
