After Saturn in 7th, some relationships are discontinued. This especially long term ones

If Saturn makes soft harmonious aspects to planets in the natal, then it might do the exact opposite - solidify relationship. So could be a commitment, marriage.

dated a guy for almost 3 years

He was going through a Uranus square Venus transit. When that transit was over so was I. I was just a part of his rebellious phase.

i would say that definitely eclipses can alter relationships, as well as starting relationships during a merc or venus retrograde and sometimes set you up for a short lived relationship

i will say though, the person ive been seeing for two years has been going through a transiting Pluto conjunct his natal Venus, so its a fairly long term transit but he has beeen having borderline tramatic themes in his love life both w me and others,
as well as going thru a south node/midheaven transit

so these transits can be correlated to life altering events in general, not JUST related to love but still worth mentioning
