Depends what the Asc is and where it is placed. Friend has Cap Asc with Mercury in house 3. He is very quiet. But very active online. Also extremely opinionated once you engage him in a subject he is interested in☝🏿IP: Logged |

I agree with Aries23Degrees. I know someone with Leo Rising and Pisces Mercury conjunct Sun. Somewhat introverted and can sometimes “zone out”, but also very loud and animated when he’s in conversation.IP: Logged |

Ohh really?! I had NO idea one's Ascendant influenced this. What surprised me the most, is how one of the Pisces Mercuries whom I'm referring to, has Mercury in The 3rd House. His Mercury trines Saturn, squares Uranus, as well as Jupiter. He also has his Aquarius Moon in The 3rd House. IP: Logged |

Ahh, I see. Do you recall if he had any planets in his 3rd House, or how his Pisces Mercury was aspected? IP: Logged |

He has his Mercury in the 9th house opposite Virgo Pluto in the 3rd house and trine Cancer Moon in the 12th house. He also has Libra Uranus in the 3rd house. He doesn’t like to talk about his feelings but he’s very caring and will go out of his way to make other people comfortable. He likes to talk about 9th house topics: foreign travel, other cultures and higher learning. IP: Logged |

I have a 17°51’ Pisces (tropical) Mercury and often ask not to be quoted here on LL, for example I guess it’s fair to admit I somehow dislike speaking, or have a tendency to take back my words—on second thought. I like to delete messages *Poof* IP: Logged |

It heavily depends on aspects and house. My sister has mercury in Pisces and once she starts talking it's hard to stop her. I wouldn't say she constantly talks but she is not quiet either. A friend of mine with mercury in Pisces is an extremely fast talker and thinker. She is also a voice over actress as well as dialogue director so her job is also about talking. I don't know what house her mercury is because I don't know her ascendant.IP: Logged |

My Mercury is in 7 degrees Pisces in my 10th house. My Ascendant is in 13 degrees Gemini, and my 3rd house cusp is in 29 degrees Cancer. I also have Saturn in Gemini conjunct my Ascendant, square my Mercury. I am autistic and I do not like speaking a lot in group social situations. However, I am good at public speaking, and if I'm talking to a close friend or family member and I'm in the right mood I can ramble on for hours about topics of interest. But I do tend to go back and forth a lot between being really quiet, and really talkative. I'm very verbose and expressive through writing, but speaking is something that eludes me at times. I completely lose the ability to speak when I'm having strong emotions or I'm overwhelmed. But when I'm relaxed and engaged I'm a complete chatterbox. It's a dynamic situation for sure. IP: Logged |

vansio, I used to ask people to not quote me, as well. People used to gently tease me, that I should make it my signature. I used to not understand how people could talk about so many private things, on the internet, just in front of everyone. I had friends who used to do that, and then erase some of their posts. I can talk a lot around people I'm comfortable with, or when I just plain don't care anymore. But I can be really quiet, too. Sometimes out of shyness, sometimes because I just like listening. From my experience, that’s not the issue. It depends on aspects as people above said. Put Uranus and Jupiter on Pisces Mercury, they might never stop talking.

What do you think about this particular case: 6 Degree Pisces Mercury in The 3rd House. Aspects: Mercury trine Saturn (2'56 orb) Mercury square Uranus (2'21 orb) Mercury square Jupiter (3'43 orb) Mercury trine Pluto (7'38 orb) I have trouble understanding how could it be that this person had learning difficulties throughout high school; despite having received private tutoring. I can’t recall the exact details, but professionals diagnosed them quite negatively. Another thing I've noticed is their aversion to talking and dislike towards it; unless at work, or if it's a matter of an obligatory or emergency case. However, I've noticed how much they adore writing; never ever using punctuation whatsoever though. Their sentence structure is often quite inadequate too. Do you know which natal factor(s) it could be? IP: Logged |

Riight, that's what I thought too! But nope, this one dislikes speaking unless it's for work, an obligation, or dire-emergency purposes. They adore expressing themselves via writing though, despite never ever using punctuation, and often quite poor sentence structure. I'm so surprised they had trouble in high school, even with additional private tutoring. They received a negative diagnosis by professionals. Do you know which natal factor(s) it could be? Hard aspects with Uranus and Jupiter could be troubling. I think hard aspects, especially Uranus, could manifest as giving too much or too little. Probably, it’s easier to him to express and control his thoughts through writing as Jupiter and Uranus are hard to control energies. And I heard they were linked to mental distress. Maybe, he is more expressive in close contacts. But wants to appear more professional by limiting his expressions with people he doesn’t know well. Capricorn AC?I think the whole chart matter if you want to understand a person. No placement is hanging in the air by itself.
