I have Mercury (planet symbolizing siblings) in the 29th degree of Pisces in my 8th house conjunct Saturn.So debilitated Mercury + Mercury sitting in an anaretic / critical degree + being in the 8th house of transformation and obstacles + conjunct a malefic = I unfortunately am not close to my siblings, stretching back to when I was a small child. My 3rd house ruler Venus is well aspected, but it isn't strong enough to fight or balance out all of those other difficult aspects that I just mentioned. IP: Logged |

My assumption is that you have Leo Asc? Any planets in the 3rd house? Where is Venus and what sign is it in?Typically, harsh aspects to Mercury make it difficult to see eye to eye with siblings. I would include Gemini/3rd House planets too i.e Mars in Gem, Chiron in Gemini, Uranus or Sat in Gemini. Or Mars in 3rd, Chiron in 3rd, Uranus in 3rd or Saturn in 3rd etc. IP: Logged |

My brother is 8 years younger than me, and it basically feels like he’s from a different generation. I have: Libra Pluto, Sagittarius Neptune and Scorpio Uranus. He has: Scorpio Pluto, Capricorn Neptune and Sagittarius Uranus. I always felt a gap between us, we’re related but not like siblings. My Mercury is on the cusp of the 9th house, forming a t-square, opposite Neptune and square my Moon. Both my mother and brother struggle(d) with addiction and mental health issues. My Mercury rules the 12th house. I broke contact with my brother out of self protection. There was too much emotional manipulation from him so he could fund his addiction. My third house is Sagittarius, my Jupiter is in the 8th house but well aspected conjunct Venus and trine Moon. IP: Logged |

I'm not close to my half brother whom I only got to speak to last year. He's 5 years older than I am (born 71'). My mother suffered a bad postpartum ordeal and her then husband took the opportunity to "introduce" his new girlfriend while throwing out all my mother's things on the street. He also got custody of my brother. The few times I've spoken to my brother, he told me that his childhood was quite brutal and he now suffers a quite severe form of Bipolar Disorder, anxiety and some other things. He has also tried to end his life many times. It's quite sad because the man is absolutely brilliant (works in a special field for the government) but he is just so...ruined. Virgo Rising. No planets in 3rd, Venus is in 9th in Taurus receiving only a trine from 5th house Capricorn Jupiter. No planets in Gemini. In Vedic Astrology, Mars is the Karaka (symbol) for siblings. Even in my sidereal chart, Mars sits in my 8th house conjunct Saturn and Mercury, still showing a non-existent relationship with siblings. IP: Logged |

If you have Virgo Asc, I would look at Mars as ruler of house 3. I use whole signs.And so, having Mars as influencing the 3rd house already suggests that one is either unsupported by siblings/ neighbours or lives in a hostile neighbourhood. Or is themselves the source of contention due to being prickly, critical and difficult to deal with. What aspects does Mars make? What sign is Mars in? IP: Logged |

Mars has the same aspects as my Mercury since theyre both conjunct. Mars is in my 8th house in the 29th degree of Pisces conjunct Saturn and Mercury.
8th house mixed in with critical degrees and Saturn on top of that is going to play out in a challenging fashion. IP: Logged |
