I was mindmapping this placement just the other day. I think Virgo Asc would have Tau on the 9th house cusp typically. I actually think Kannon McAfee has this placement(if not mistaken)? But anywho, so far this is what I came up with. Security/self esteem(Tau)is linked to knowledge (9th) i.e the more one knows, the more improved their self esteem is,earning a degree / qualification (9th) may impact ones self-esteem (Tau), a qualification (9th) directly impacts on ones income(Tau), study (9th) that is geared towards refinement (Tau) of something or aesthetics related, studying (9th) in order to create something artistic(Tau), a qualification (9th) in finance (Tau), an education (9th) in commerce/ business administration (Tau), one studies(9th) to make a living (Tau), a collector (Tau) of degrees,a collector (Tau) of foreign items and totems(9th), one makes a living (Tau) as a teacher/ lecturer (9th), travelling(9th) gives one security (Tau), living(Tau) in a foreign country (9th), finding sustainability (Tau) in a foreign country (9th), finding security (Tau) with foreigners (9th), trusting(Tau) in foreigners (9th), finding value(Tau) in foreign knowledge (9th),being secure (Tau) when maintaining an intellectual distance (9th) from the subject being studied, working (Tau)in a foreign-based (9th) institution, practical (Tau) knowledge (9th), money earned(Tau) via foreigners (9th), a distant relationship (9th) with one's self esteem(Tau), travelling (9th) is good for the self esteem(Tau), finding foreign places(9th) beautiful (Tau), an attraction (Tau)to foreigners (9th),religious (9th)value system (Tau), a belief system(9th) that is based on practical application(Tau), studying something (9th) that aligns to common sense(Tau), ones self esteem(Tau) is impacted when living in a foreign land (9th), travelling (9th) for business purposes(Tau). So I would imagine Venus would emphasize much of the above. The list is not exhaustive, but Venus is about pleasure and enjoyment. When in Taurus, the pleasure principle is heightened and one does things under the "labour of love". So passion and creativity is important in whatever they are invested in. So for instance, they may be interested in studying(9th) something connected to Venus i.e. relationship building, art/ design, fashion, business(more from.the finance side) etc. And they will take great pleasure in doing the above (Ven). It won't just to earn a degree and get out. But they may actually love (Ven) studying/learning (9th) equally as much as they lobe instructing and teaching . IP: Logged |

Very good memory! Yes, my birth chart has Venus in Taurus in the 9th house. I'd summarize it as someone who enjoys the wide variety of humanity, people, places, a view tinged with romanticism. Even if we don't travel physically we may enjoy doing it mentally through movies, travel shows, Anthony Bourdain, etc. Love is as much an ideal as it is a feeling. A person who values learning and has trouble understanding people who just perpetuate their own upbringing without learning or pushing beyond it. Someone who almost certainly needs to live away from where they grew up (and I moved 2200 miles away). I think of myself as a people-person even though I'm an introvert. I talk to strangers readily on the bus or train and enjoy these spontaneous moments and surprises. I also associate Venus in Taurus in this placement of the 9th as someone who may love the heights of terra firma, mountains and lofty places. But that may just be me. I like being near mountains, not for climbing them, but just seeing them and knowing they are there. They put things in perspective. The ideals or idealism for me is perhaps as much due to Venus being opposite Neptune. So it is hard to separate the placement of Venus from that natal aspect (which has culminated exactly by progression in the last couple years). Taurus with the 9th helps bring it closer to home and down to earth a bit. Practical attitude and outlook towards ideals and a philosophical view of the world and life. Venus here values learning and broader perspective, not necessarily formal education or degrees. It's the learning and wider perspective that matters. ------------------ Astrological gemstone readings for your energetic balance, healing, and soul development. http://kannonmcafee.wordpress.com/services/ We were born for these times.
