Hmm the opposite sign generally means that they actually share a lot of similarities. Instead of absence, think of it as more of two sides of the same coin - so they do already possess those characteristics, just not consciously.

For example, Neptune and Pisces can be used to determine possible drug and alcohol experimentation, but the same is actually true for Virgo, the opposite sign, which also can seek out the same type of escape as Pisces, because they are seeking connection with the other side. Because of this, opposites often embody each other. This is something that isn't always understood or taken into account.

And so this is also true for the Gemini-Sagittarius axis. The actual opposite of talking would be Pisces/Neptune which are known as the whisperers and as being the ones who are the most subtle and require intense sensitivity to be understood or "heard".
