I might mean envy.

Those people could have a need to be on top and have big ego so if their luck and dynamic got changed, it could be a reason.

Generally, I see it’s not easy to be in a long term friendship as people are getting through different life experiences and changing, and sometimes past friends refuse to acknowledge it. Sometimes things what you don’t care about 6 years ago start to bother you.

I guess I'll just take it as that people change, move on with their new lives and to tell my daughter sometimes it just happens however close one was.

If she really cut her off for a small personal reason without any outgoing problems, she is not a real friend. I see transit Saturn in Pisces breaks Illusions. However, the thing with Scorpio they can hold a grudge for something from a while ago.
