My bf has this in his natal. His 12th house is in Cancer. Both Venus and Saturn are square Pluto and Jupiter. Venus is trine Uranus and both Saturn and Venus are trine Lilith. He’s a Taurus Sun in the 11th house, Leo ascendant and moon. His Mars is in Pisces. The 12th house really confuses me because the descriptions seem to be so vastly different but it appears to be the house of the unconscious. There are lots of 12th house Venus aspects that just don’t relate to my bf, and some that do. He’s very loyal, reliable, responsible, respectful, caring, immensely empathetic, very in touch with his feelings (unless it’s anger!), independent, relaxed, open and honest. He tells everyone about us (no clandestine love affair here)! He’s physically affectionate but not particularly verbally affectionate. IP: Logged |

He also has strong Fire influence with his Leo Rising and Moon so this makes one very expressive. Also it`s not always the person who carry the "traits" of the house but the people they might deal with who do so people with Venus in the 12th might find themselves involved with people who represent the 12th house themes in some way. They might get involved with people who might cheat on them or keep them a "secret" or people who takes advantage of them or artists, psychics or sensitive types or their lovers might turn out to be their hidden enemy. They also may show their love in an unconditional way or sacrifice a lot for their relationships and may have problems with boundaries. IP: Logged |

That’s great. Thank you for that explanation.Yep, Leo certainly does make you expressive (Venus conjunct Leo asc in the 1st house - speaking from experience!). Though my level of expression is definitely at the more extreme end of the spectrum ;-) The last bit of what you wrote was very accurate. He does romantically attract women who are spiritually very connected (me and his ex), which is funny because he’s not at all! I suppose the fact that he has a Saturn Venus conjunction contributes to his tendency to sacrifice himself. I’ve noticed that responsibility and love are very closely tied for him. Interesting that Venus square Pluto also shares some of the characteristics that you mentioned. IP: Logged |

12th house are things hidden to us by others(even ourselves).Whilst 8th house are things that we hide from others.Venus pertains to affection, passion, love, the expression of one's feelings etc. The need to mate or find companionship Saturn is limitations, scarcity, obstacles, challenges and delays. It is also about reservation, detachment and stoicism. So with Ven in house 12,one's sexuality (12th) is often something that one is not aware of OR has yet to awaken to. Some may even be asexual(if other aspects indicate) or the type to not prioritize sex and relationships much. There could also be the sense of being "unaware" (12th)when it comes to Venus things i.e.it could be in terms of their own physical beauty and self worth I.e. they may dress "down" or in a manner that hides their beauty. Or have self esteem issue and self-doubt despite being very physically attractive. It could also be that they can choose partnerships that are either emotionally and/or physically distant from them i.e. dating someone long-distance/in jail? Someone from a differing class/ country/ background /race? Or be attracted to dodgy/unreliable/shady sorts. It could be that one dates someone secretly because of fear of what others will say about the relationship? Someone who isn't very affectionate with them OR reciprocating their love? Once again subconsciously playing down their need for love and affection through such interactions. Venus is sexual.Saturn isn't. So the combination can often create sexuality issues I.e. someone who finds it difficult to "let go"? Someone who equates pain with love? Someone who has a lot of sexual frustration or inhibitions? Someone whose needs for love or affection are too "weird" for conventional society to accept? Someone who is delayed in sexual maturity OR may even be suppressive of that area in their life altogether? Saturn is very attached to status. So people with the Venus/Sat combo may have a hard time integrating their Venusian tastes(which are often "dark" and "freaky") with the conservative and "what will people say?" Publicity concerned nature of Saturn. Many times the environment or their role in society (Sat) just doesn't allow them to express their Venusian side openly. So it is often done in secret I.e. a secretly gay but very high ranking international boxer, a supreme court judge who frequents gentleman's clubs OR a Home network food channel CEO mother of 6 who enjoys BDSM with multiple men etc. These are the people that may patronize secret/discreet rendezvous or love going to clubs /social Venues where anonymity is valued I.e. dimmed lights, masked parties or exclusive joints where only a certain "crowd" is allowed in. "Eyes Wide Shut " creepy party scene is a Venus/Sat kinda thing.( that movie director Stanley Kubrick, has a natal trine aspect between Venus and Saturn). If Saturn finds "joy" in house 12( in Hellenistic Astrology), then it stands to reason that Ven/Sat in 12th will emphasize a lot of what has been said above. 12th is private. So is Saturn who values minimalism and discretion. 12th is hidden. Saturn likes to construct boundaries and contain access. 12th is foreign places and things far from us. Saturn likes detachment and reserve. Keeping oneself objective and cool. 12th is isolation/seclusion. Saturn is elitism and exclusivity. The parties of the rich and famous are often in isolated and exclusive areas . Why? To limit access from the prying eyes of the general public.

Sorry, I didn’t get a notification for this! Amazing! Thank you. Yes there are definitely some things that fit there. Difficulty in letting go. Difficulty in allowing sexuality to come to the surface - sometimes a start/stop to this as well and a need for the right mood/environment. Also not prioritising it. I’m Venus conjunct ascendant, in the 1st H in Leo with a Scorpio moon and Mars. So I’d say we are opposites in this respect and only time will tell if it will workout but currently I’m watching him unfurl… He’s becoming more and more relaxed and confident and it’s wonderful. I feel my consistent admiration, love and verbal affection is meeting his Leo moon and cautious Saturn Venus conjunction needs. He helps ground me and create stability and responsibility in the relationship which I really need. However I feel frustrated by the lack of priority on intimacy and he is very self sacrificing (Mars in Pisces) is lovely but I actually want him to voice his own needs more

But also, I’m confused because I thought that the 8th house represents sex. The 12th feels more unconscious/subconcious. So wouldn’t Venus in the 12th be more about finding it difficult to express love or not knowing that someone loves you, not feeling loved enough? So, interestingly his Mars is in Pisces which has a 12th house flavour to it obviously but wouldn’t this be more related to sex?
