Eclipses in 2024: The Action Begins Before April 8!

The April 8 total solar eclipse is getting a lot of attention because of the spectacle it’s expected to create. We have friends who are planning “Eclipse Vacations” and some state governments, like in New York, are promoting tourism for the “path of totality.”

But the eclipse action actually begins on March 25, 2024, with the first eclipse of the year, a lunar eclipse, at the Libra full moon! This lunar eclipse links back to October 14, 2023, when a Libra solar (new moon) eclipse set events in motion.

Eclipses come in pairs, as a duo of opposite signs

Since the Aries new moon and hybrid eclipse on April 20, 2023, we have been in a cycle of eclipses on the Aries-Libra axis. These are the zodiac signs that rule war and peace, themes that have rocked the world over the past year-plus. Aries is ruled by combative Mars, Libra by conciliatory Venus. They’ve arrived to help us work through that balance, and unfortunately, humanity isn’t exactly doing very well with the assignment.

But there’s still time, and the opportunity to spread peace exists at the individual level too. The Libra lunar eclipse on March 25 will be a wakeup call for all of us to examine our relationships, and how well we coexist with people who might have very different values and agendas than our own.

Two weeks later, on April 8, the skies serve up the total solar eclipse in Aries. In this “eclipse corridor” between March 25 and the April 8, we’ll also see communication planet Mercury turn retrograde in Aries (from April 1-25)!

The April 2024 Total Solar Eclipse Brings Surprises

The April 2024 total solar eclipse on April 8 can set you on a new path that you hadn’t imagined for yourself. While it may be surprising—or not something you even expected—a solar eclipse has a bigger vision in store for you. We have a finite focus as human beings, and it’s natural to concentrate on what’s in front of you. At times, this can limit your perspective, however and cause you to miss out on opportunities.

We’ll all feel the “lights out” effects of this lunation, which can reveal any vacuums in leadership—and summon you to take charge and blaze trails where your talents are in demand. That’s how the total solar eclipse affects us all, astrologically.

But there’s more! Enter, Chiron.

We’re casting eyes on Chiron, the “wounded healer” comet that orbits between traditional Saturn and radical Uranus. On April 8, 2024, Chiron sits right next to the total solar eclipse! Symbolized by a key, Chiron helps us unlock the wisdom gained from our hardships. Chiron in this position makes its presence known in April—big time!

The April 8 eclipse also lands during Aries Season, when the Sun travels through this zodiac sign for four weeks, and we all feel its energy.

So, to recap: The moon, Sun and Chiron are all lining up in Aries, the sign of the warrior and transcendent leader. (Our resident astrologer Matthew Swann has dubbed this occurrence, “Chironeclipse”!)

Bottom line: As mentioned, we will all feel the “lights out” effects of the April 2024 total solar eclipse. But when the light returns, so does clarity. The April 8 eclipse could initiate an awe-inspiring personal development, a global event or scientific breakthrough.

Predictions for the April 2024 Total Solar Eclipse in Aries

Here are some things we’re keeping our eye on with this eclipse event.

A worldwide reckoning?

We’re looking at April 8 as a major day for events because this eclipse lands alongside Chiron, as we mentioned above. Chiron has been transiting through warrior Aries since 2018.

Can we repair the rifts of recent years, from the political aisles to literal battlefields?

The “Chironeclipse” sounds a major wakeup call. The impact of collective rage, authoritarianism and the embattled existence under which many are living will be clear. Humanity will be faced with a choice: we either lay down our swords and negotiate or exacerbate “war wounds” and continue to destroy each other and fight to the death.

Could there be an assassination attempt on a world leader?

Gun violence has been on the rise in recent years, and sadly, this trend is not likely to end while the North Node remains locked and loaded in Aries until January 11, 2025. Increased security will be needed at political rallies at the April 8 Eclipse.

Prior Aries North Node cycles brought the assassination of both civil rights movement leader Martin Luther King, Jr., and RFK (Bobby Kennedy), who was a powerful political voice in the fight against racism and poverty.

Could a nuclear event occur near the April 8 Eclipse?

With so many global conflicts brewing, the fear of a nuclear event is heightened. Unfortunately, this worry is not unfounded as we look at prior Aries North Node cycles. A few examples: The Soviet Union tested its first atomic bomb while the North Node toured Aries in August 1949. The following year, Truman ordered development of the hydrogen bomb. In frightening resonance, the Chernobyl Disaster occurred while the North Node was in Aries on April 26, 1986.

While we hope this prediction does not come to pass, we wouldn’t be surprised to see countries holding nuclear arms throw their weight around, especially near the combustible Aries total solar eclipse on April 8.

At the very least, we may learn a collective lesson about the dangers of destructive weapons, politics and interpersonal conflicts.

On a brighter note: A possible, positive technology advancement

With the North Node spending 2024 in Aries, the Next Big Platform app could emerge—perhaps one designed with guardrails against bullying. (And definitely incorporating AI creatively.) We’ll be watching to see what those renegade developers release near the April 2024 total solar eclipse!

The April 2024 Total Solar Eclipse Is Your Bonus New Year

Set your intentions for the next six months and get into action. Since this is a total solar eclipse, surprises are in store. Challenge yourself to shine in new ways and be open to major personal growth.

But be cautious: Power struggles could turn fierce, even violent, so do your best to deescalate if you sense one brewing. Or simply turn on your heel and leave. This just isn’t a good time for negotiating since everyone’s feeling hotheaded and righteous.

On the plus side, exciting and novel opportunities could crop up unexpectedly. Explore with eyes wide open (after it’s safe to remove your eclipse glasses)!

Ideas for you to benefit from the April 8, 2024, total solar eclipse:

• Sharpen your competitive edge
• Blaze your own trail
• Take the initiative with people and activities that matter to you
• Try new things

Bump.

I can’t remember anything about last October. I can remember September, and November.

A few weeks before the October 2023 Eclipse, at the end of September I handed my resignation in at my last workplace which was a disgusting, horrible, toxic environment and 'boss-ship' sucking life force out of me. That was also the last straw for me and it triggered me enough to decide to strive for opening a business in the future and be my own leader.

For a few days now I've been feeling super sensitive and right now I'm also experiencing some anxiety. I have no idea just yet where this originates from, hopefully it's just me sensing the heightened energy the eclipses will release.

I see all the key themes resonate. A lot of energy. I’m more in Martian mode as focused on the actions and don’t care about the opinions. Learn to put the business first. I go to more self-reliance directions where I don’t need to collaborate. And I don’t have much desire to interact as opposite to the Scorpio - Taurus transits.
Strangely, I see somebody with Aries bundle goes to the more opposite direction as needing to collaborate and interact.

So interesting that this connects with the October 2023 eclipse.

I was told to quit smoking I did....but now I see why I could never quit. I am having the worst time with my mental health. And constantly feel dysregulated.

Feeling what's left of the last eclipse. Emotional wreck, but I've come a long way. But I can also sense that some positive change is coming. I've got messages about it.

The heater tank broke at the school I have a bonus day off today. I am very grateful that lately during eclipses I get some space from working.

I'm glad you brought up Mercury rx. I have Saturn Capricorn. So this transit can make one pessimistic. And just need alone time to evaluate their life.

Yes affairs, fun, and friends have been a strong theme in my life since winter last year. And I had a sneak peak of what my life was going to be in spring 2022.

While I am like oh great I get to have more of that transit...I've shifted my perspective to okay more shadow work.

Plus I have Mars Aquarius 23 degrees so I get to be pessimistic and sizzlin hot. LOL

I looked up the planets today and Mercury is 25 degrees Aries that means tomorrow Mercury rx will be exactly square my Saturn during this eclipse.

AND

omg Venus which I believe to be the planet of self esteem will be squaring my Jupiter exactly tomorrow too.

Thank Goodness I have a half day at work tomorrow.

I’m ready for it to be over with, and I can just step outside to see it in totality. I’m tired of hearing about it.

The big day is tomorrow…

How are you all feeling? Stawr, teasel, emsie, angryant, Libra?

Personally, I feel so much big energy building - could also be because there is so much attention on the eclipse here in Texas, with out of town folks here to see it, and much chatter about 3clipse glasses on social media. I got a set, but I’m not anxious to use them, since the online retailer where I bought them suddenly posted a recall. 👽 I’m not looking for any issues, so…

There’s a nervous energy building in the atmosphere though, like the elements are holding their breath to see what this phenomenon will bring.

Good luck to all of you. May you be safe, and may it bring you no harm. ✌🏽☮️

Good luck to you too!

I am in Europe so we are only getting a partial eclipse at 9pm. Same with my family in Western Canada 😆

Last night I had two dreams about death, but I narrowly avoided it.. tonight I will enjoy myself at a pub quiz instead 😎

I've been on a major emotional rollercoaster ride for at least a week now. Lots of crying and release, no wonder as transiting Chiron is also involved this time. It's happening in my natal 6H and a childhood trauma regarding my life path and purpose (10H matter - I have Leo MC conjunct Chiron natally) directly affecting my 6H matters of everyday life and lifestyle has resurfaced. It's been brewing for a few years now, but started to feel more intensely from January, and I feel this is the time of a "grand finale" for me.

I've just realized the Eclipse and Chiron also exactly trine my natal Sag 2H Sun. I feel the part of me which was muted back then is emerging through the pain. Very powerful times...

The Eclipse won't be visible in the region where I live, but I really hope the view will compensate everyone for the overwhelming weeks

I’m exhausted, I’ve had no sleep. I’m a freshly showered zombie. Let’s do this. Or not, if the glasses I have were recalled.

*glasses are good. Dad is home, and said he thought I’d be up and ready for this. That’s funny. I’ve got the kettle on, and will probably fall asleep as it’s happening. I had thought about going to the state park, or an event in a town close by, but I don’t think I can handle it.

Same. I'm just outside of the path of totality.

I'm about a 2hr drive from Niagara Falls that's directly in the path.

All I see is price gouging in the hospitality sector and anyway for people to make a buck for this event. A hotel room in Niagara did go for $1000 for this event.

Even the small towns in and around Niagara see it as a mixed blessing.

There was a nice small thunderstorm here during the eclipse. Alas it only lasted about an hour, but it was pleasant nonetheless.

It’s concerning how bunch of eclipse excitement includes little warning about danger looking at it. I forgot you need the special glasses before. And I was told there were people staring at the sun with naked eyes.

I was outside in sunglasses avoiding looking up and I still felt like it was too bright even eclipse didn’t start yet.
My cat is staying away from windows by himself.

I had my glasses on, but didn’t know that I could look at it without them, during totality (when I couldn’t see anything through the eclipse glasses). So, I switched to a livestream. I could have at least taken a picture. Damn.

I was taking a video of my garden, with my phone, as I listened to a streamer.

My cats were trying to get outside, but as it got closer and darker, I found them in the middle of the house, around the stairs.

Hotels in Ohio, were apparently booked up ahead of time, last year. I don’t know how crowded our parks and towns were, but there was a NASA livestream that included Cleveland totality. Cleveland is about an hour from me, and we used to drive up through buffalo and Niagara, to bring my sister home from Canada.

I’m glad I didn’t miss it, but I do wish I’d known that I could look at it when the ring was there. We rarely get to share something big, as a country (countries), that isn’t horrible, so it was nice just to hear and see others in awe of it. As I watched on my iPad, lol.

Yes, it passed directly over me at 3:19pm. I had to look outside because it felt like it was 10pm already, lasted for a good 25min.

You probably experienced something similar.

Good to know your from the Great Lakes region, I guess we'd share the same reasoning on many things
