Not sure if anyone can relate because I’m posting this more from a payed astrologer point of view, but it applies to just being an enthusiast active in forums as well. The types of questions that people ask are very repetitive. It’s always young people asking if they’ll ever be famous, people asking when they’ll meet the love of their life, or just vague Tell Me About Myself posts. Thousands of “is it over for me” “am i screwed” with no context Sun sign fixation Especially political astrology. Twitter is riddled with confirmation bias and borderline psychosis when it comes to trying to make the puzzle pieces fit. There are still pseudo astrologers claiming Biden is going to make a come back and surprise everyone and win the election. Also, recently i’ve grown annoyed with the career question. What career should i get into? And then if you don’t tell them that they’ll be a tiktok star or a doctor even though they’re 28 and have never set foot in a college, verbally mention they’re grossed out by blood and germs, they still get upset and argue with you. This becomes more of a problem as a paid reader when I charge hundreds of dollars and spend two straight weeks typing over 275 pages worth of a pdf document about every intricate detail of their life, just to receive an email back with one sentence “you didn’t mention my love for art and how i want to be an artist or a poet can you please tell me how to gain success writing poetry” or something along those lines. Even in forums asking about career is so low effort and a waste of both the reader and the natives time because they don’t actually want advice, they want you to guess what they already want to do and tell them they’ll be successful. Even then, anyone in this world can do absolutely anything they want, if they actually want it enough regardless of what planetary alignment says. The other end of that is that none of these people actually want to do the work to get where they want to be, they think if it’s wRiTTen iN tHe sTArs that a recruiter will knock on their door one day offering them their dream job. The same applies to “will i ever meet my soul mate” or “am i an incel why can’t i get a girlfriend” from people that don’t have a job, house/apartment, car, no stability, don’t take showers don’t leave their house or actually talk to women or make any effort whatsoever to put themselves out there or be someone that would make a good partner. Is it laziness? Is it ego? Is it being chronically online that these people have no idea you have to actually do things to get places with their lives? I guess what i’m getting at is in the last five to ten years astrology has become completely bastardized and is no longer an amazing and insightful tool but rather being used for confirmation bias and stroking of the ego. It’s making me lose interest and want to end my career to something else because of the sheer amount of repetitive interactions. I’ve even adjusted my guidelines to not read for anyone under the age of 25 and still have these issues. You can go on any forum online and find hundreds of thousands of these repetitive posts to the point I wonder if they are bots. I wrote an article about Ted Bundy’s transits for murder/prison break and proceeded to have to not only remove the article but remove synastry readings from my e-commerce packages. This was because dozens of women started emailing me that Ted Bundy was their soul mate, tried buying synastry readings with his birth information, etc. My e-commerce page is automatic as well so I had to refund these purchases which drastically alters my analytics. Not sure why I’m even posting this, I guess just to vent because no one i know in real life is involved in astrology enough to understand what i’m saying. Has anyone else noticed the drastic decline in the quality and respect for astrology in recent years? Or just extreme cognitive decline in general? IP: Logged |

I agree with you. I feel some people even pretend to seek understanding, advice and insight but really are just out to argue with anyone that tries to give them some insight and advice there are some big egos out there some even want to "claim" every great quality linked to all the different elements and gets angry why their dominant element is not representing of certain qualities it`s a lot of misinformation out there because of people`s Ego`s. Exactly. Take this a step further I’ve seen people get upset that you can’t give them a 20 degree orb so that they have a certain aspect that they want to have. It’s similar to the cusp debate, they want qualities of another sign so they try to make the shoe fit. An example would be I saw someone want to have Plutonian placements so they were asking if 13 degrees is a close enough orb to have Pluto square the ascendant because people allegedly tell him he’s “so mysterious and intense” but didn’t have any placements to reflect that and was wondering if that nonexistent square could be it.
It’s all become very narcissistic and egotistical. There’s also a flip side to this is it’s not just the natives that do this, there are now astrologers who want the attention and ego boost so they will over use buzzwords like cazimi or stellium or essential dignities to make it sound like they know what they’re talking about and to the average listener they don’t know enough to realize what the person is saying is hog wash.
Just all very sad to see and incredibly frustrating.

Unfortunately i have seen this too and it`s all so ridiculous. I`m sorry you had to waste so much time trying to help people that makes their own nonsense up. IP: Logged |

It's a generational thing mixed with a modern day sense of entitlement. It's very common with those born 1990, and after.Unfortunately, New Age and Astrology attracts a lot of egotism from the younger folk. It's the TikTok Generation and Youtube Generation! ------------------ Happiness is easy to find. IP: Logged |

🤣🤣🤣. Totally can relate. Yes🙌🏿 Had a client just last week ask if there was a chance of getting back together with her jailbird ex? Mind you, she had told me the week before of how she was done with toxic men and turning a new leaf etc. When I reminded her of this, she got defensive. Then said "I just know it's going to be different this time ".🤦🏿♂️ As an Astrologer you deal with a lot of people out there who lack self awareness and are looking towards everything outside of them to define who they are. So they will want you to tell them that they are going to be a celebrity, have lots of money or marry a perfect person etc. It's very annoying. Age has little to do with it ime. I used to think it was young people who are like this. But even older ones can be so one dimensional in their thinking. I have had to dial down consultations considerably because of the "Will I meet my soulmate?" Or "Is he the one?" queries from clients who showed no interest in self-discovery. But more enthusiasm in trying to get confirmation on whether a divorcee with multiple children is the man of their dreams?🤷🏿♂️ Now I just consult every blue Moon. My enthusiasm for Astrology hasn't waned. But my faith in people's intelligence and common sense has 🤣 IP: Logged |

why go with "allegedly"? you've said yourself people can choose whatever in life regardless of chart so why use a word implying dishonesty when they embody energy outside of what their chart says? genuinely curious because this seems contradictory to me to feel like the chart is always correct in one way but another side of it is fluid and about choice. especially considering people have choices in how they act and present themselves. that all being said, this is just normal human nature **** , and it's normal to get burned out. reading charts is energetically draining as is tarot reading etc because you're constantly putting your energy out there and letting other people's into your space. random ones too who you don't get a feel for til you're already doing it. it's a draining job, and that's why i've never had any interest in doing it and don't read charts frequently. people would think you just sitting at home doing something like this isn't taxing, but it is, very much so. maybe you do need a break.

I said allegedly because he would spam post this to forums to include photos of himself and obviously wanted attention and praise. He was a morbidly obese (not just hefty, a very large man) balding, not attractive or look like he ever leaves his house, Leo Sun with dull green/brown eyes and would also claim people tell him he has the “most intense beautiful eyes they’ve ever seen” Sorry if my post offended or upset you. This was funny to read whether it was intended that way or not. I’ve had people say you should do astrology for living. Because you know how people are….if you really like doing something and you’re good at it “that should be your job. But then if you have to do it all the time, of course you want a break. As a teacher, if you aren’t constantly gushing about your job. Do YoU lIkE yOuR jOb” I’m human just like everyone else please don’t make me feel like I need to talk like I’m competing in a pageant that doesn’t exist. I’ve read a few friends charts for fun. If someone wanted to give me money I would not turn them down though. Lol someone on Reddit messaged me for a free astrology reading. Thanks for showing me the horrors of reading for strangers. Reading for my friends I can be like “Uranus was conjunct your ASC when you got knocked up” What degrees do you count something? I usually count 5 degrees. (Asteroids usually 2 degrees) Cafe astrology considers my 9 degrees MC conjunct mars to be a conjunction. I think that is a bit much, but then I red that this placement can make people want to be successful out of spite and I can see that for me. Lol IP: Logged |

Yes it was meant to be a little funny lol. For orbs i usually go max 6 degrees. Once in a blue moon i MIGHT do 8 if it’s like a transit chart or something with an obvious correlation between two planets even though they’re a little too far apart. IP: Logged |

i wasn't offended i just found it to be contradictory and wanted to understand where you're coming from. 🤷♀️ i didn't state my own beliefs in one direction or another about charts and how to take what can be read from them. it just seemed incompatible to believe that we have choices in one area where the chart can just not play out and yet another area would be set in stone. knowing your assumption was based on other factors makes more sense to me now. lol i'm not that guy i wont take personal offense for him i just noticed the nature of your comment and wanted to understand. even said it was just genuine curiosity... Oh that type of loser. I know the sort. I've noticed many people really want to be plutonian and start boasting about how their eyes are just so intense and piercing. Gives me second-hand embarrassment. IP: Logged |
