Do lords usually only apply to Vedic astrology or do you guys use it for tropical as well?

Did house lords come from Vedic astrology?

In psychological astrology they use house lords (a.k.a. house rulers). Aspects made to the rulers of the house give information about the psychological dynamics of that house.

For example, if you want to know about someone’s relationship needs, you look at their Venus (sign, aspects and house placement) and their 7th house (planets located in 7th house and the aspects to the lord/ruler of the 7th house). Sometimes that leads to somewhat contradictory information, but people are complicated.
