I’ve read a couple times that calculated points do not activate midpoints like planets do, so aspects between them do not matter. Interested in hearing other opinions!

Examples: North Node, Lilith/Priapus, ASC/MC, Vertex

Do these have any relevance in midpoint astrology/synastry?

Thanks!

The thing is that you must know what it is that you are looking for.

Sun/Moon speaks of integration of public (Sun) and private(Moon)

Venus/Mars speaks ofnthe integration of relationships with individuality or finding a balance therein

What do the midpoints of those mentioned mean ? Like if Mars hit the Lilith/Priapus midpoint, what would be the external manifestation of that?

Example: Sun/Moon mp conjunct Priapus, in Synastry.

Is this an aspect that would be felt by either person? Or can these points only be “activated” by planets?

Ok, I understand.

Yes.All midpoints are usually activated by planets. The severity)intensity will depend on the planet doing the activation.

But now comes the question of what the external manifestations would be for some midpoints? And how would one monitor them?

Since I started understanding transits in 2012, my view of Astrology shifted from abstract, passive absorption. To active , engaged and critical observation.

So if a midpoint is being activated, it must show up in a very real visceral way in ones life. And so its activation will only serve to exacerbate what it already represents.

For example, Moon/Mercury=Mars midpoint is saying that both Moon and Mercury joined together in the midpoint formula, equal Mars.

So Mars must affect both Moon and Mercury in the natives chart in a way that is felt and/or externally observable.

One way that this can manifest is through the home(Moon). Maybe the native has a volatile relationship with family? Lives far from home? Or is frequently dealing with domestic issues related to the family? Etc.

With Mars on Mercury, there could be a tendency to jump to conclusions? Have a very harsh/critical tongue? Maybe road accidents(since Mercury is transportation) ? Or recurring injuries to the hands/arms shoulders (Mercury ruled)? Or lung infections/ inflammatory issues(Mercury)?

In the example given, how would Sun/Moon mp conjunct Priapus manifest? How would the couple concerned confirm this midpoint? How would you explain it to them?
