Pluto in Scorpio in 10th/11th House at Scorpionic degree 20
Venus in Libra in 9th/10th House at Taurian degree 14
Sun at the Anaretic "crisis" degree in the "crisis" sign Scorpio in 11th/12th House
To me, these seem like overly strong placements that I assume would stand out starkly in a persons chart/personality/life? I'm trying to grasp which of these bold placements would shine out the most, and what it would look like.
Any opinions welcome
Hi AnnabelLucy, I think it's best to see placements in context to the entire chart. If your chart is filled with air and a lot of Venus, you're usually looking for common ground with others and diplomacy is important to you. A Scorpio Mars might not be something you would easily express and that could lead to inner tension. Especially if that Mars has difficult aspects with other planets.
In addition, every energy associated with a planet also has a downside. Strong placements can mean that the negatives of the energy they represent are more prominent in someone's personality. I grew up around Scorpio Mars men. My brother, my father and grandfather all had a Scorpio Mars. My father had a really challenging Mars squaring his Leo Pluto. He also had an Aries Moon that further accentuated his Martian side. It wasn't at 25 degrees, and I don't know if it was in his 10th house but it was an obvious part of his personality. He felt easily challenged, his moods dominated our household dynamics and he could be very intimidating. He often struggled with his anger. He usually was very sorry after one of his outbursts and his Martian side negatively impacted his relationship with his family members. His Mars got him in trouble.
"Formidable" placements aren't necessarily blessings. They can clash with other parts of the personality causing a lot of tension within a person, or they can be so emphasized in someone's personality that the negative manifestations of that planet become very prominent.
This person has a Scorpio Mars conjunct their Sun and Pluto in the 10th house. I have my Mars in my 10th house and I've had Martian issues with my father. The 10th house can be associated with the father and authority figures (just like the Sun). They could have authority issues. Either being very authorative themselves or struggle with people in authority positions, or maybe even both. Their strong water placements can also make it difficult to express air placements. Their Libra Venus could struggle for an outlet of their energy. Making it difficult for them to show and receive affection when they're stressed. They might find a Venus outlet through their hobbies, like painting, dancing or fashion.
